IMPLEMENTATION OF A DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR INTEGRATED RIVER BASIN WATER MANAGEMENT IN KOREA

  • This research presents a prototype development and implementation of Decision Support System (DSS) for integrated river basin water management for the flood control. The DSS consists of Relational Database Management System, Hydrologic Data Monitoring System, Spatial Analysis Module, Spatial and Temporal Analysis for Rainfall Event Tool, Flood Forecasting Module, Real-Time Operation of Multi Reservoir System, and Dialog Module with Graphical User Interface and Graphic Display Systems. The developed DSS provides an automated process of alternative evaluation and selection within a flexible, fully integrated, interactive, centered relational database management system in a user-friendly computer environment. The river basin decision-maker for the flood control should expect that she or he could manage the flood events more effectively by fully grasping the hydrologic situation throughout the basin.

  • For the purpose of monitoring by ultrasonic test of the ball bearing conditions in rotating machinery, a system for their diagnosis was developed. ultrasonic technique is used to detect abnormal conditions in the bearing system. And various data such as frequency spectrum, energy and amplitude of ultrasonic signals, and ultrasonic parameters were acquired during experiments with the simulated ball bearing system. Based on the above results and practical application for power plant, algorithms and judgement criteria for diagnosis system was established. Bearing diagnosis system is composed of four parts as follows : sensing part for ultrasonic sensor and preamplifier, signal processing part for measuring frequency spectrum, energy and amplitude, interface part for connecting ultrasonic signal to PC using A/D converter, graphic display and software part for display of bearing condition and for managing of diagnosis program.

  • 발전계통 시뮬레이션은 CFO(전산유체역학)을 이용한 시뮬레이션으로서 다차원 미시적인 현상에 대한 시뮬레이션을 뜻한다. 주요 특징으로써 다수의 컴포넌트로 구성된 계통의 다양성으로 보일러, 급수계통, 증기계통, 복수계통 등 다양한 계통들이 존재하고 있다. 따라서 다양한 컴포넌트 모듈을 저장할 수 있는 GUI(Graphic User Interface) 기반의 시뮬레이션 툴이 필요하게 되었다. 현재 발전계통 시뮬레이션 툴의 문제점은 외국의 상용화 툴에 전적으로 의존하고 있으며 이는 곧 시뮬레이터 유지 보수의 어려움을 초래하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 발전계통 시뮬레이션을 위한 컴포넌트 모듈의 생성, 모듈과 그래픽 라이브러리간의 연결, 유량-압력 알고리즘을 이용한 계통 Solver를 설계하고 멀티스레드를 이용한 복수개의 계통 시뮬레이터 구현 방법을 소개한다.

  • 본 논문은 16비트 칼라 LCD 디스플레이 장치를 갖는 휴대용 단말기에 영상을 이용한 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스(Graphic User Interface : GUI)를 제공함에 있어 단말기의 저장 공간을 효율적으로 사용하기 위하여 대부분 비손실 영상 압축 기법을 사용하는데, 이들 압축 기법의 압축 효과를 높이기 위한 전처리 과정 방법에 대하여 기술한다. 전처리 과정은 일반적인 칼라 영상의 각 8비트로 구성된 R, G, B 컴포넌트를 16비트로 구성된 RGB 비트 수에 맞도록 원 영상의 칼라를 조정, 16비트로 축소된 칼라 영상에서 사용된 칼라 수를 계산하는 단계 칼라 수가 사용자가 입력한 칼라수의 임계값 보다 작은 경우 인덱스 칼라 이미지를 만드는 단계, 인덱스화된 영상과 칼라 수가 임계값 보다 큰 경우 16비트 칼라 영상을 대상으로 영상을 겹치지 않게 분할하는 단계 분할된 영상의 각 블록 단위로 Run의 평균 개수가 가장 많은 스캐닝 방법을 결정하는 단계 그리고 스케닝 순서에 따른 기존의 비손실 압축 기법을 적용의 순으로 이루어진다. 본 논문에서 기술한 전처리 단계를 거친 영상을 JPEG-LS에 적용하였을 경우 동일한 영상에서 약 $10{\sim}20%$의 압축 효율을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • A software platform which is able to evaluate the performances of a GPS/INS integrated system has been developed in this paper. And it consists of four parts including GUI(Graphic User Interface) part, GPS part, INS part and integrated filter part. It basically offers the loosely, tightly and deeply coupled GPS/INS algorithms, and many design parameters can be changed by users via GUI. Each functions of the platform has been confirmed with GPS signals and IMU data from commercial simulators.

  • Recently, Virtual reality parts is applied in various fields of industry. In this paper we developed basic components for virtual robot control system interfaced with real environment. For this, a real robot with virtual interface module is developed and virtual robot of similar image with real robot is created by putting on 3D graphic texture to the real robot. To build an unknown environment to be linked with virtual environment, we proposed a hough transformation based algorithm. Our proposed algorithm consists of navigation module by using fuzzy engine and map building module. Experiments using a developed robot illustrate the method.

  • In order to analyze the characteristics of complicated TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display) circuits, it is indispensible to use simulation programs. In this study, we present a systematic method of extracting the input parameters of poly-Si TFT for Spice simulation. This method is applied to two different types of poly-Si TFTs fabricated in our group with good results. Among the Spice simulators, Pspice has the graphic user interface feature making the composition of complicated circuits easier. We added successfully a poly-Si TFT model on the Pspice simulator, which would contribute to efficient simulations of poly-Si TFT-LCD pixels and arrays.

  • This program is developed to design Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipes (PCCP), Fittings and Thurst Blocks and to manage drawings, quantity calculations and calculation data, using Graphic User Interface(GUI), which is capble of not only reducing the time taken to design, but also enabling the user to achieve such a design even when operator has no theoretical knowledge of that design while only having knowledge of data inputting and outputting. PCCP is used in water transmission popeline of the Great Man-made River Project. In domestic area, PCCP is used for water cooling systems of Uljin and Youngkwang nuclear power. In abroad, especially in the United States and Canada PCCP applies virtually every metropolitan area with raw and treated water.

  • 기존의 퍼지 제어기는 퍼지 추론시 [0, 1]의 소속도를 갖는 퍼지 소속함수들의 실수연산으로 인하여 연산수행 속도가 저하되는 문제를 가지고 있다 따라서 본 논문에서는 실수연산으로 인하여 야기되었던 속도 저하문제를 해결하기 위한 새로운 퍼지연산 기법으로 실수 값을 갖는 퍼지 소속 함수 값을 정수형 격자(pixel)에 매핑 시켜 정수형 퍼지 소속 함수 값만을 가지고 연산함으로써 기존의 퍼지제어기에 비해 매우 빠른 연산을 수행 할 수 있는 고속 퍼지제어기를 제안한다. 또한 퍼지제어시스템 설계시에 퍼지 입.출력 변수들의 퍼지항들을 입력시킬 수 있는 GUI(Graphic User Interface)를 제공하여 소속함수의 수정 및 퍼지 값 입력시 사용자에게 보다 편리한 환경을 제공한다.

  • This reserch was to develop database software in order to handle a lot of clinical nursing data with nursing diagnoses, related factors, defining characteristics, nursing interventions, nursing activities and nursing outcomes. MS Access2000 and SQL was selected to use a general purpose database logic with an efficiency. MS Visual Basic 6.0 was used to construct the circumstance of Graphic User Interface. The Linkage Database of abdominal surgery patients was constructed from the clinical data and questionnaire. This database system could add related factors, defining characteristics, nursing activities in the database and analyze the statistical results through Access query. In the final stage, end-users satisfaction analysis using 5 points Likert scale was dong with the response of using the database system. The accuracy/trustworthiness of the database system was verified with the highest average scores as 4.42 and also, the efficiency as 4.21, user friendly function as 4.1.
