네트워크 가전의 통합 인터페이스 구축을 위한 조작방법의 특성 추출 (Extracting the Operation Characteristics for Integrated Interface Construction of the Network Electronics)

  • 본 연구는 근미래에 실현 가능할 것이라고 판단되는 홈 오토메이션 시대에 대비하여, 유저의 사용편의성 향상과 메이커 입장에서의 디자인전략 수립을 위한 홈 네트워크 정보가전의 통합형 유저 인터페이스 구축을 목표로, 대표 메이커의 홈 네트워크에 대한 현황파악과 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, '스테이션 의존형 시스템 구축', '조작성의 향상', '기기 간의 친화성 향상'의 필요성 규명과 함께, 네트워크 가전의 인터페이스 구축의 개념 모델의 필요성을 도출하였다. 나아가, 유저 인터페이스의 통합화가 가능한 기종의 선별과 네트워크 가전으로서의 조작방법상 특징을 추출하기 위하여, 총 34개 제품에 대한 38가지의 물리적 특성에 대한 분석을 실시, 가전제품은 크게 4가지의 조작방법에 따른 총 7개의 그룹으로 분류할 수 있었다. 그 중 Full Control과 Remote Control, Non Control, Simple Control, Direct Control의 5개 그룹에 속하는 정보가전제품들이 홈 네트워크 가전에 적합하며, 공통되는 인터페이스를 구축하는 것이 가능하다는 것을 알았다. 또한 그 제품군들의 통합형 인터페이스 구축을 위한 공통조작 요소로 Direct Control과 Simple Control, Non Control이 적합하다는 점도 규명했다.

  • In this paper, we develop an interface for aerial photograph platform which consists of a quadrotor and a gimbal using the human body and the head posture. As quadrotors have been widely adopted in many industries such as aerial photography, remote surveillance, and maintenance of infrastructures, the demand of aerial video and photograph has been increasing remarkably. Stick type remote controllers are widely used to control a quadrotor, but this method is not an intuitive way of controlling the aerial vehicle and the camera simultaneously. Therefore, a new interface which controls the serial photograph platform is presented. The presented interface uses the human head movement measured by head-mounted display as a reference for controlling the camera angle, and the human body posture measured from Kinect for controlling the attitude of the quadrotor. As the image captured by the camera is displayed on the head-mounted display simultaneously, the user can feel flying experience and intuitively control the quadrotor and the camera. Finally, the performance of the developed system shown to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the presented interface.

단일 성분 고분자 나노 계면의 도입을 통한 블락 고분자 박막의 나노 구조 배향 조절 (Orientational Control of Nano Structures from Block Copolymer Using Homo-Polymer Nano Interface)

  • 블락 고분자 박막과 기판 사이의 계면에 1 nm 두께의 얇은 단일 성분 고분자 나노 계면을 도입함으로써 블락 고분자 나노 구조의 배향을 조절하는 연구가 수행되었다. Polystyrene-block-poly (methyl methacrylate) (PS-b-PMMA) 블락 고분자 박막의 나노 구조를 조절하기 위하여 블락 고분자의 각각의 고분자들의 평균 조성을 가지며 한쪽 끝에 히드록시 기를 가지는 단일 성분 고분자인 폴리(4-아세톡시스티렌) (OH-PAS)과 폴리(4-메톡시스티렌) (OH-PMS)를 나이트록사이드를 이용한 라디칼 중합법(nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization, NMP)을 사용하여 성공적으로 합성하였다. 실리콘 웨이퍼 표면과 저압 탈수 반응을 통하여 OH-PAS와 OH-PMS 두 개의 고분자를 성공적으로 표면에 공유결합 하였으며 생성된 두 고분자가 결합된 1 nm 두께의 계면 위에 PS-b-PMMA 블락 고분자 박막을 도포하여 그 나노 구조의 배향을 분석하였다. OH-PMS를 사용하여 제작된 계면의 경우 블락 고분자에 대하여 약 30%의 수직 배향을 보여주었고 OH-PAS를 사용하여 제작된 계면의 경우 수직 배향을 전혀 보여주지 않았고 오직 수평 배향만을 보여주었다. 결과적으로 계면의 화학적 조성을 정밀하게 조절하는 것이 블락 고분자 박막의 나노 구조 배향을 조절하는 데 가장 중요한 요소라고 고려된다.

A Study on User Interface Design According to 3D Menu Type and Control Type for 3D Displays

  • Objective: We proposed an effective 3D menu manipulation alternative with a usability test. This was performed in a 3D environment with 3D menu and control manipulation methods. Background: As 3D stereoscopic displays became generalized, various 3D applications were being used not just movies, games, but also mobile contents and advertisements. However, when a user interface was designed in a 3D environment, it was lacked that a clear standard and result of an efficiency and usability as like a 2D environment. Method: We implemented 9 kinds of 3D menu types based on 3D menu hierarchies, menu layouts and dimensions. And we extracted 3 representative control types in a 3D environment. We performed usability evaluation with full factorial design for 27 menu alternatives with 2 types of menu manipulation tasks. In this condition, we measured the performance time, subjective discomfort and eye-fatigue. Results: A control type had the significant effect, and the effect of menu types had the different result depending on given tasks. Conclusion: This experiment showed the interaction of menu and control types depended on 3D menu manipulation tasks were significant in a 3D user interface design. Therefore, as a purpose of a 3D menu manipulation task, 3D menu types and control types were should be considered. Application: We supposed this result was should be applied in a 3D menu contents design.

FPGA를 이용한 시퀀스 로직 제어용 고속 프로세서 설계 (The Design of High Speed Processor for a Sequence Logic Control using FPGA)

  • This paper presents the design of high speed processor for a sequence logic control using field programmable gate array(FPGA). The sequence logic controller is widely used for automating a variety of industrial plants. The FPGA designed by VHDL consists of program and data memory interface block, input and output block, instruction fetch and decoder block, register and ALU block, program counter block, debug control block respectively. Dedicated clock inputs in the FPGA were used for high speed execution, and also the program memory was separated from the data memory for high speed execution of the sequence instructions at 40 MHz clock. Therefore it was possible that sequence instructions could be operated at the same time during the instruction fetch cycle. In order to reduce the instruction decoding time and the interface time of the data memory interface, an instruction code size was implemented by 16 bits or 32 bits respectively. And the real time debug operation was implemented for easy debugging the designed processor. This FPGA was synthesized by pASIC 2 SpDE and Synplify-Lite synthesis tool of Quick Logic company. The final simulation for worst cases was successfully performed under a Verilog HDL simulation environment. And the FPGA programmed for an 84 pin PLCC package was applied to sequence control system with inputs and outputs of 256 points. The designed processor for the sequence logic was compared with the control system using the DSP(TM320C32-40MHz) and conventional PLC system. The designed processor for the sequence logic showed good performance.

The Communication Method at the Auto-Startup System using TCP/IP and VXI and Expert System(G2)

  • This paper describes the communication method of an auto-startup system. The Auto-Startup system is designed to operate a nuclear power plant automatically during the startup operation . In general , the operations during startup in existing plant have only been manually controlled by the operator. The manual operation caused to the operator mistake. The Auto-Startup system consists of the Distributed Control System(DCS) and G2 (Expert System). Also, Functional Test Facility(FTF) provides the plant's real-data for an Auto-Startup system. So, it is necessary to develop the communication method between these systems. We developed two methods ; one is a network and the other is a hardwire line. To communicate between these systems (DCS-G2 and DCS-FTF) , we developed the communication program. In case of DCS-FTF, we used the TCP/IP and VXI. BUt, in case of DCS-G2 , we , what it called , developed the bridge program using the GSI(G2 Standard Interface). We test to check the function of the important parameter, in time, for analysis of the developed communication method. The results are a good performance when we check the communication time of important parameter. We conclude that Auto-startup system could save heat-up time about at least 5 hours and reduced the change of the reactor operation and trip.

Building Information-rich Maps for Intuitive Human Interface Using Networked Knowledge Base

  • Despite significant advances in multimedia transferring technologies in various fields of robotics, it is sometimes quite difficult for the operator to fully understand the context of 3D remote environments from 2D image feedback. Particularly, in the remote control of mobile robots, the recognition of the object associated with the task is very important, because the operator has to control the robot safely in various situations not through trial and error. Therefore, it is necessary to provide the operator with 3D volumetric models of the object and object-related information as well such as locations, shape, size, material properties, and so on. Thus, in this paper, we propose a vision-based human interface system that provides an interactive, information-rich map through network-based information brokering. The system consists of an object recognition part, a 3D map building part, a networked knowledge base part, and a control part of the mobile robot.

이기종 지휘통제체계 연동을 위한 무장정보 처리 표준화 설계 방안 (A Standardized Design Method of Weapon Information Exchange for Interoperability with Several Kinds of Command and Control System)

  • In this paper, we have proposed a design method for standardization of weapon information exchange between a weapon control computer of guided missile system and a high echelon command and control system. Because the weapon control computer based on diverse combat platforms is operated with several kinds of a high echelon system, it is necessary to provide a standardized design method for weapon information exchange between mutual system. In fact, it is possible to standardize a interface design specification of weapon information message because weapon information message is closely related to standard tactical data link message. It is essential that the interface design specification of weapon information is submitted to that of tactical data link information. It seems that this interface design specification is very useful in development process of the future weapon system.

  • 인간 대 컴퓨터 인터페이스의 발전은 기술의 발전에 크게 의존되어 왔다. 그러나 인위적 환경을 통한 커뮤니케이션 방법인 키보드, 마우스나 OMR 등의 비직관적 인터페이스를 넘어선 직관적 인터페이스의 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이와 더불어 일반 가정에서도 대형화면 TV의 급속한 보급과 디지털환경을 통한 다양한 서비스의 제공이 이뤄지고 있다. 이러한 인터페이스와 TV환경의 변화는 인간 대 TV의 인터페이스에 획기적 변화를 요구하게 되었다. 기존의 인터페이스에서 동작인식을 기반으로 하는 인터페이스로의 전환은 보다 직관적인 인터페이스로서 제시될 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 지시동작인식이론과 디지털 TV 인터페이스 분석에 대한 이론을 바탕으로, 이에 요구되는 최소기능 추출 후 인터뷰를 통해 추출된 지시동작을 분석하는 기초적 연구이다. 이를 통해 디지털 TV에서 요구되어지는 특정 기능에 대한 동작모형을 제시하여 이에 적합한 인터페이스 환경을 디자인하는데 대한 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.

  • The interface between host processor and the ShortStack Micro Server may be a Serial Communication Interface(SCI). The LonWorks control module with a high performance is developed, which is composed of the 8 bit PIC Microprocessor for host processor and the smart neuron chip for the ShoretStack Micro Server. This intelligent control board is verified as proceeding the various function tests from experimental system with an boost pump and inverter driving systems. It is also confirmed that the developed control module provides stably 0-10VDC linear signal to the input signal of inverter driving system for varying the induction motor speed. Thus, the experimental results show that the fabricating intelligent board carried out very well the various functions in the wide operating ranges of boost pump system. This developed control module expect to apply to industrial fields to require the comparatively exact control and monitoring such as multi-motor driving system with inverter, variable air volume system and the boost pump water supply systems.
