육색사고기법을 활용한 과학수업이 창의성 및 과학 학업성취도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Science Lessons using Six Thinking Hats techniques on Creativity and Science Academic Achievement)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects on the effects of science lessons using six thinking hats techniques on creativity and science academic achievement. To verify the research problem, the subject of this study was fourth-grade students selected from four classes of an elementary school located in Busan. For ten weeks, the experimental group of 40 students was taught using the six thinking hats techniques. The comparative group also of 40 students, was taught in normal classes which used a Text-book. Children were given a creativity test and academic achievement test in science to measure the effects on six thinking hats techniques. Likert scales were used to gather students feedbacks on creativity and science academic achievement. Through these procedures, the following results were obtained: First, the six thinking hats techniques had a more effect on creativity than the normal classes, where a text-book was used. Second, the six thinking hats techniques could be seen to be effective in improving the student's academic achievements in science than the normal classes which used a Text-book. Third, the result of the student recognition investigation, we could know that the students showed lots of interest in the science lessons using six thinking hats techniques, and they were able to understand the scientific theories. As a result, the elementary science class with six thinking hats techniques had the effects of developing creativity and science academic achievement. It means the science class with six thinking hats techniques has potential possibilities and value to develop creativity and science academic achievement.

국가연구개발사업의 과학적 성과분석을 위한 새로운 계량지표 개발에 관한 연구 (Developing Bibliometric Indicators for Analysis & Evaluation of National R&D Programs)

  • 최근 연구개발 투자규모가 급속히 증가함에 따라 정부는 R&D사업의 투자효율성을 높이기 위한 다양한 정책을 구사하고 있다. 구체적으로 R&D사업에 대한 성과평가를 강화하고 평가결과를 예산의 조정 및 배분에 반영하는 등 성과중심의 평가체계를 정착시키기 위해 노력하고 있다. 이처럼 국가연구개발사업에 대한 평가가 성과중심으로 체계화되기 위해서는 R&D 성과물을 과학적 객관적으로 분석할 수 있는 성과지표의 개발이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전 부처 연구개발사업에 공통으로 적용할 수 있는 성과지표인 SCI논문지표를 바탕으로 교육과학기술부 3대 연구개발사업에 대한 구체적인 사례분석을 실시하여 이들 사업이 우리나라 전체 R&D에서 차지하는 질적 양적 위상을 파악하고자 하였다. 이러한 분석을 위해 SCI 관련 기존지표와 더불어 4개의 신규지표를 소개하였고 신규지표들의 타당성 조사를 위해 모의실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과 보완된 순위보정영향력지수(ordinal rank normalized impact factor, omIF)가 분야간 비교 시 가장 적절한 성과지표인 것으로 분석되었다.

카툰(Cartoon)을 통한 토양의 이해 (Understanding Soil by Cartoons)

  • 토양학과 비료를 가르치기 위하여 다양한 방법이 동원되고 있다. 카툰은 강의자와 학생 모두에게 도움이 되는 가장 효과적인 방법의 하나다. 강의자는 강의하고자 하는 장에 근거한 이야기를 전개하는 축이 된다.? 그리고 카툰은 표현하고자 하는 내용을 정확하고 간결하게 표현하기 위한 정상적인 문장을 선택하고난 다음 적정한 삽화를 삽입하여야 한다. 카툰이 다루어야 할 주요 내용은 용어풀이, 영양흡수, 산도, 염류 축척, 수분, 오염, 화학비료, 퇴비, 그리고 일반 토양과 관련한 분야가 포함된다.

근로자 정기건강검진을 기초로 한 영양 및 건강관리 전산화 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of a Computerized Nutritional and Health Guide Program Based on Periodic Health Examination at Work Sites)

  • In this study, a computerized nutritional and health guide program for workers was developed. The dietitian at the work site could utilize periodically conducted medical examination data to develop an effective health care counseling model based on the developed Nutritional and Health Guide Program. A personal computer (Pentium II PC MMX-150, 32MB RAM, 2.95 GB HDD) with Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Enterprise Edition and Microsoft Access 97 installed, was used. The Nutritional and Health Guide Program consisted of seven main menus and 43 sub-menus. Included in the main menu were Basic Information, Periodic Health Check-ups, Visitors' Consultations, Nutritional/Health Tips, Nutritional Education according to Diseases, Help and Exit. In the Periodic Health Check-up menu, dieticians could input the health examination data of employees and touch for the recommended treatments for diseases such as obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension and hepatitis. The Visitors'Consultation menu has been designed to compile health information about the employees who sought consultations. The Nutritional/Health Tips menu was designed to provide 14 kinds of programmed nutritional educational media and information. In the Nutritional Education According to Diseases menu, the dietitian could judge the subject's willingness to obtain treatment based on the Stage of Change Model. According, the content of the administered respective nutritional education was classified by stages. The Help menu, provide a chart of the method and procedure used as nutritional guidelines, by which the results of the health examination were classified as people in good health and those requiring special medical attention. The results of the evaluation of this program showed highly positive rates for usefulness (4.09), convenience (4.04), lettering size (4.02), interest (3.93), design (3.49). It also showed that 97.5% of the subjects thought that this program would be helpful for implementation of their company's nutritional educational program. Therefore, this menu could help dietitians plan, conduct, and evaluate their nutritional guidelines for employees. It is expected that The Nutritional and Health Guide Program developed in this study will play a role as a scientific and effective guide in conjunction with health examination results.

과제연구 프로그램이 고등학생들의 과학 탐구능력 및 과학에 관련된 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Research Project Program on the Science Process Skills and Science-Related Attitudes of High School Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of research project program of science process skills and science-related attitudes for high school students. This study were accompanied by 72 junior students of G High School who were reorganized as students whose research subject was closely related to chemistry. These students went through 28 periods of 14 sessions of research project program, were tested before and after the study on their science process skills and science-related attitudes. A simple questionnaire afterwards to get their thoughts on this program, was surveyed. The results are as follows. First, the research project program was effective in the science process skills (p<0.01). There was a statistically meaningful difference in the subcategory of deduction, setting up hypotheses, finding variables, building experiments, graphing and interpreting data. Although there was an increase in the average scores of prediction, operant definition, and generalization factors, it was not statistically meaningful (p>0.05). Second, the research project program showed an increase in the post-test of the science-related attitudes but was not statistically meaningful (p>0.05). In terms of subcategoty, the social importance of science, criterion of scientists, application of scientific attitude, and enjoyment of science classes were statistically meaningful (p<0.05). Third, according to the survey of research project program, there was an increase in creating a research problem and solving it by oneself as well as in participating with other teammates to solve a problem. But the most difficult thing was when the experiment failed during the research was processing. The curiosity and interest, towards objects around all lives and science classes after the program done, were increased.

센서 기반 스크래치 프로그래밍 중심의 STEAM 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of the STEAM Education Program Focused on the Sensor-Based Scratch Programming)

  • 과학기술에 대한 국가의 경쟁력을 위한 STEAM 교육과 정보교육의 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 정보교육, 특히 프로그래밍 교육 중심의 STEAM 교육을 개발하는 것이다. 프로그래밍과 다른 교과요소를 연결하면서 학생들의 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 장치로 센서를 활용한 프로그래밍 활동을 진행하였다. 개발한 교육 프로그램을 초등학교 4~5학년 대상으로 적용하였고, 창의력, 논리적 사고력, 과학의 정의적 영역에 대한 검사를 사전 사후에 실시하여 교육 프로그램의 효과를 비교, 분석하였다. 분석 결과 개발한 STEAM 교육 프로그램이 학생들의 창의력의 유창성, 독창성, 창의력 지수와 논리적 사고력, 과학적 태도의 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다.

Cytolytic Activities of Taxol on Neural Stem Cells

  • Stem cells have been the subject of increasing scientific interest because of their utility in numerous biomedical applications. Stem cells are capable of renewing themselves; that is, they can be continuously cultured in an undifferentiated state, giving rise to more specialized cells of the human body. Therefore, stem cells are an important new tools for developing unique, in vitro model systems to test drugs and chemicals and a potential to predict or anticipate toxicity in humans. In the present study, in vitro cultured F3 immortalized human neural stem cell line and in vivo adult Sprague Dawley rats was used to evaluate the cytotoxicity of anticancer drug paclitaxel. In vitro apoptotic activity of paclitaxel was evaluated in F3 cell line by a MTT assay and DAPI test. The cell death was induced with the treatment of 20 nM paclitaxel and chromatin degradation was detected by DAPI staining, which was analyzed by fluorescent microscope. In vivo studies, we also observed nestin immunoreactivity on subventricular zone, which is stem cell rich region in the adult brain of the SD rat. Immunofluorescent staining result shows that pixel intensities of nestin were decreased in a dose dependent manner. These results suggest that paclitaxel is able to induce cytotoxic activity both in F3 neural stem cell line and neural stem cell in SD rat brain.

국내 방사선종사자 피폭 분류체계 개선에 관한 연구 (Study on the Improvement of the Radiation Work Field Classification System in Republic of Korea)

  • 전 세계적으로 방사선종사자들의 피폭 기록은 관심의 대상이며 피폭이 일어나는 분야에 대한 분석이 수행되고 있다. 한국에서는 유관부처에 따라 보건복지부, 농림축산식품부, 원자력안전위원회에서 종사자들의 피폭을 11개 업종으로 나누어 기록을 수집 분석하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 분류 체계는 유엔방사선영향과학위원회를 비롯한 주요 국가들의 분류 체계와는 정합성이 부족하다. 국내의 종사자 피폭 분류 체계는 명확한 분류 기준이 없고 업종 특성 등을 반영해주지 못하고 있다. 유엔방사선영향과학위원회의 분류 체계를 바탕으로 국내의 분류 체계를 핵주기 분야, 의료분야, 산업분야, 그 외 분야(교육/연구, 군사/공공)의 5개 대분류 체계와 그에 따른 세 분류 및 직군 분류를 본 연구를 통해 제안하였다.

  • The development of life science has given many insights into life phenomenons to mankind. Nevertheless, many questions for various phenomenon in life has not been satisfied. Recently, scientific development in human's knowledge showed the limitation of science comparing With the variety of life phenomenon. The fundmental reason of the limitation is thought that the subject of study in life science has been material, and so life has been thought a matter of material in life science. The thought of Hu Jun about this problem, the nature of living things is an important interest in Korean Traditional Medicine, Haneuihak(韓醫學). In this study, the view of human body and disease of Hu Jun(許浚) about the nature of living things which was appeared in 『Donguibogam』 was illuminated. The content of 『Donguibogam』 was edited in the order of Naekyung(內景篇; internal part of the body)ㆍOuihyung(外形編; external part of the body)ㆍJabbyung(雜病篇; diseases)ㆍTangaek(湯液偏; medicinal decoction)ㆍChimgu(針灸篇; acupuncture and moxibustion). The part of Naekyung(內景篇; internal part of the body) is thesis about basic theories and his thought about human body and life, which was seen in ‘Shinhyungjangbu-do(身形臟腑圖; figure of body and shape, and the organs and viscera)’ㆍthe part of ‘Jeong(精)’ㆍ‘Gi(氣)’ㆍ‘Sin(神)’ theory. In this study, the parts which were related with his view of life were selected and compared with the China philosohy of those days to elucidate what is his thought of life appeared in 『Donguibogam』.

제 6차와 제 7차 초등학교 3, 4학년 과학 교과서의 내용과 삽화의 비교ㆍ분석 (The Comparative Analysis of the Content and illustration in the 6th and 7th National Curriculum 3rd and 4th Grade Primary Science Textbooks)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine whether or not they have been revised corresponding to the purpose of revision by making a comparative analysis of the content and illustration in the 6th and 7th primary science textbooks. The analysis of content was composed of knowledge, inquiry process and attitude. The analysis of illustrations was composed of the kinds of illustrations and the role of illustrations. The findings of this research were as follows: First, as a result of content analysis of the primary science textbooks in the 6th and the 7th national curriculum, the ratio of inquiry process showed the highest frequency, next knowledge and lastly scientific attitude. And the 7th textbooks are greatly emphasized knowledge and science attitude. Second, as a results of the illustration analysis are as follows: There are conspicuous differences in that the illustration number of the 7th science textbooks Is about twice the illustration number of the 6th science textbooks and next, they place more weights on pictures and comics hard to discovery in the 6th science textbooks. Therefore, they have tried to induce the interests of students and heighten their understanding by supplementing the role of illustration presented as picture-centered and increasing its number presented as picture. In the results, although they have improved the problems of the 6th national curriculum a lot through the innovation including the interest induction of pupils through comics, the development of its content presentation method, the gradual change of subject number and the cultivation of curriculum according to the level of enrichment and supplementing types, the 7th science textbooks have fallen short of 6.3%, not around 30% in terms of the reduction in the 7th national curriculum. Accordingly, the 7th science textbooks also can be pointed out to have the problems of too much amount of studying compared to the time per week like the 6th science textbooks.
