  • Internet has been widely spread out and the need of convenient mathematical expression in the internet has been in need. In this paper, we discvss how MathML and JAVA have been developed for mathematical expressions in the internet. And we introduce our JAVA applet tools that adapted the object oriented programming techniques of the MathML and JAVA. Most of our JAVA toots have been developed for linear algebra course whose method can be applied to other subject as well. Then we discuss how we use those tools and output from the use of them in our class.

  • In our fast-moving information and knowledge society, skills and know-how rapidly become outdated. Virtual learning environments play a key role in meeting today's growing demand for customized educational and vocational training and lift-long teaming. The scope of multimedia-based and web-supported education is illustrated by means of an interdisciplinary multimedia project 'New Statistics' funded by the German government. The project output contains more than 70 learning modules covering the complete curriculum of an introductory statistics course. All modules are based on a statistical laboratory and on a multitude of Java applets, animations and case studies. The paper focuses on presenting the statistical laboratory and the applets. These components present the main project pillars and are particularly suitable for international use, independently from the original project framework. This article also demonstrates the application of Java applets and other multimedia developments from the educational world to official statistics for interactive presentation of statistical information.

  • Abstract We can use R package as a statistical package on the statistical education for college students. R is an interactive mode package and graphical presentation tools are powerful in R. The greatest advantage is that R is a general public license package. We need to consider R package as a standard statistical package on the statistical education for college students. We can consider the applications of R for inferential statistics in elementary statistics course.

  • With the growing shift from traditional educational approaches and studying to the more digital classroom, using electronic textbooks and digital native's demand, there is a growing need to develop new methods for learn Kanji characters for children. The purpose of this study is to help children learn the basic Kanji by using stop motion and block methods, and approaching the basic Kanji character education with a more innovative and interactive smart phone APP. In the development of this smart phone App for children's Kanji character education proposed in this study, 100 basic Kanji characters for children are selected. These 100 characters are required for the stop motion animation production, where each selected Kanji is created as a stop-motion animation utilizing a variety of techniques, such as storytelling, to better engage children. The intelligent App is designed with image recognition technology, so that in the learning process children take a picture for the assembled block using their smart phone, the APP then recognizes whether it is assembled correctly, and then plays an animation corresponding to the assembled Kanji character.

  • The spreadsheet Microsoft Excel is the most widely used mathematical tool in today's workplace. Moreover, it is also an outstanding means for developing a surprisingly wide range of creative and innovative educational uses within such areas as mathematical modeling, visualization, and instruction. The spreadsheet's format provides us with a tool that closely parallels the way in which we naturally carry out problem solving, while the spreadsheet creation process itself illuminates the underlying mathematical concepts. In addition, the spreadsheet's visual layout allows us to introduce a broad variety of challenging and interesting topics, and to design creative demonstrations through eye-catching animated graphics. The material presented comes from actual classroom mathematics teaching experience in both industrially advanced and developing nations. A series of highly visual interactive illustrations from mathematics, the natural and social sciences, computing, engineering, and the arts provide a number of usable examples. The material discussed is applicable at diverse levels, ranging from schools and universities through adult education and in-service teacher development programs.

  • This paper presents a graphical windows-based program for the education and training for novel network reduction. The object of developed simulator is to provide users with a simple and useable tool for gaining an intuitive feel for power system analysis. The developed simulator consists of the main module (MMI,GUI), the location marginal price module (LMP), the clustering module and network reduction module. Each module has a separate graphical and interactive interfacing window. The developed simulator needs with the PSS/E input data format, generator cost function, location information. Line admittances of reduced network was determined by using the power flow method(Newton-Raphson). So line flow of reduced network is almost same to original power system. Results of reduced network are compared on the window in the tabular format. Therefore, the developed simulator can be utilized as a useful tool for effective education and training for power system analysis.

  • This paper explains a system that is suitable for detecting software error for multimedia distance education based on home network environment. This system consists of an ED, and ES. ED is an agent that detects an error by hooking techniques for multimedia distance education based on home network environment. ES is an agent that is an error sharing system for multimedia distance education based on home network environment. From the perspective of multimedia collaborative environment, an error application becomes another interactive presentation error is shared with participants engaged in a cooperative work.

  • Measurement has been an important part of mathematics content students must learn through their schooling. Many studies suggest students' weak measurement learning, particularly related to length measurement, on the part of lower grade students. This difficulty has been attributed to mathematics curriculum as well as instruction. Building on a view of teaching as an interactive activity, this paper explores how a first grade teacher interacted with her students in small groups in a length measurement lesson to promote conceptual understanding as well as procedural fluency. I found that even though the teacher supported students to explain and justify what they understood, the ways the teacher interacted with students were not effective to promote students' understanding. Even though this finding is based on an analysis of a single mathematics lesson, it provides an example of challenges in promoting students' understanding through interaction with students in the context of teaching length measurement.
