This study explored the impact of couple interaction behaviors on the relationship between economic stress and marital instability. The study results showed that economic satisfaction and economic pressure greatly influenced the marital instability of married males and females. However, the interaction behaviors of couples tended to have a stronger impact on marital instability than economic stress. In other words, perceived spouse support and perceived spouse hostility had a significant impact on marital instability, with perceived spouse hostility being the more damaging of the two. The study also showed that there were sender differences regarding the impact of couple interaction behaviors on marital instability and economic stress. For married males, economic satisfaction as well as couple interactions influenced significantly on their marital instability. For females the impact of couple interactions on their marital instability tended to be more salient. On the whole, the results of the interaction effects between economic stress and couple interaction behaviors on marital instability did not appear significant, except in the case of females' perceived spouse hostility and its effect on marital instability.
The present study is concerned with the thermoelastic interactions in a two dimensional homogeneous, transversely isotropic thermoelastic solid with new modified couple stress theory without energy dissipation and with two temperatures in frequency domain. The time harmonic sources and Hankel transform technique have been employed to find the general solution to the field equations.Concentrated normal force, normal force over the circular region, thermal point source and thermal source over the circular region have been taken to illustrate the application of the approach. The components of displacements, stress, couple stress and conductive temperature distribution are obtained in the transformed domain. The resulting quantities are obtained in the physical domain by using numerical inversion technique. Numerically simulated results are depicted graphically to show the effect of angular frequency on the resulted quantities.
This article investigates buckling behavior of a multi-phase nanocrystalline nanobeam resting on Winkler-Pasternak foundation in the framework of nonlocal couple stress elasticity and a higher order refined beam model. In this model, the essential measures to describe the real material structure of nanocrystalline nanobeams and the size effects were incorporated. This non-classical nanobeam model contains couple stress effect to capture grains micro-rotations. Moreover, the nonlocal elasticity theory is employed to study the nonlocal and long-range interactions between the particles. The present model can degenerate into the classical model if the nonlocal parameter, and couple stress effects are omitted. Hamilton's principle is employed to derive the governing equations and the related boundary conditions which are solved applying an analytical approach. The buckling loads are compared with those of nonlocal couple stress-based beams. It is showed that buckling loads of a nanocrystalline nanobeam depend on the grain size, grain rotations, porosities, interface, elastic foundation, shear deformation, surface effect, nonlocality and boundary conditions.
The present study is concerned with the thermoelastic interactions in a two dimensional axisymmetric problem in transversely isotropic thermoelastic solid using new modified couple stress theory without energy dissipation and with two temperatures. The Laplace and Hankel transforms have been employed to find the general solution to the field equations. Concentrated normal force, normal force over the circular region, concentrated thermal source and thermal source over the circular region have been taken to illustrate the application of the approach. The components of displacements, stress, couple stress and conductive temperature distribution are obtained in the transformed domain. The resulting quantities are obtained in the physical domain by using numerical inversion technique. The effect of two temperature varying by taking different values for the two temperature on the components of normal stress, tangential stress, conductive temperature and couple stress are depicted graphically.
The objective of this paper is to study the deformation in a homogeneous isotropic thermoelastic solid using modified couple stress theory subjected to ramp-type thermal source with two temperature. The advantage of this theory is the involvement of only one material length scale parameter which can determine the size effects. Laplace and Fourier transform technique is applied to obtain the solutions of the governing equations. The components of displacement, conductive temperature, stress components and couple stress are obtained in the transformed domain. A numerical inversion technique has been used to obtain the solutions in the physical domain. The effect of two temperature is depicted graphically on the resulted quantities. Numerical results show that the proposed model can capture the size effects of microstructures.
This article is an application of new modified couple stress thermoelasticity without energy dissipation in association with two-temperature theory. The upper and lower surfaces of the plate are subjected to an axisymmetric heat supply. The solution is found by using Laplace and Hankel transform techniques. The analytical expressions of displacement components, conductive temperature, stress components and couple stress are computed in transformed domain. Numerical inversion technique has been applied to obtain the results in the physical domain. Numerically simulated results are depicted graphically. The effect of two temperature is shown on the various components.
This study analyzed a family therapy case which dealt with family violence and was consisted of 14 sessions. The therapeutic perspective for this case was MRI model, a strategic family therapy model which emphasizes attempted solutions and interactions. The results of this study were as follows. This study found the interaction process of occurring family violence. When the husband attempted conversations with his wife after drinking, the wife who was anxious and dreadful avoided conversation. This avoidance made the husband felt rejected feeling, and he battered his wife. The avoidance of conversation, an attempted solution of wife, was made from her frame of reference which was affected from her original family context and the couple's communication style in ordinary times. The therapist made the couple recognize their attempted solutions were not effective, and he helped them begin new solutions or coping behaviors. This intervention process was long and hard, but the couple changed their attempted solutions to new solutions which were clear communication styles and functional interaction process. This study results showed the effectiveness of couple therapy on family violence. The effectiveness of MRI model was also proved from the study. The results of study will be helpful to the family therapists and counsellors in the field of family violence.
This paper is concerned with the disturbances in a transversely isotropic new modified couple stress homogeneous thermoelastic rotating medium under the combined influence of Hall currents, magnetic fields, and mechanical sources represented by inclined loads. The application of Laplace and Fourier transform techniques are used for the derivation of analytical expressions for various physical quantities. As an application, the bounding surface is subjected to uniformly and linearly distributed force (mechanical force). Present model contains length scale parameters that can capture the size effects. Numerical inversion techniques has been used to provide insights into the system's behavior in the physical domain. The graphical representation of numerical simulated results has been presented to emphasize the impact of rotation and inclined line loads on the system, enhancing our understanding of the studied phenomena. Further research can extend this study to investigate additional complexities and real-world applications.
The present study examined whether enjoyable couple activity and common dyadic coping as daily positive couple interactions have direct or indirect effects on marital satisfaction through the mediation of sexual intimacy among urban Chinese women in the early years of marriage. The subjects were 182 urban women born under the one-child policy, who live in Heilongjiang, Anhui and Beijing provinces of China, and have been married up to six years. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire. We conducted a hierarchical multiple regression analysis in SPSS software and tested the significance of the mediation effects using bootstrapping method in Mplus software. The results of the study are as follows. First, both enjoyable couple activity and common dyadic coping had positive direct impacts on urban Chinese women's marital satisfaction and positive indirect impacts on marital satisfaction via sexual intimacy. Second, enjoyable couple activity was the strongest predictor of marital satisfaction, followed by common dyadic coping and sexual intimacy. The path model explained 48% of the variance in marital satisfaction. The results suggest that enjoyable couple activity, common dyadic coping, and sexual intimacy should be considered in the design of interventions to enhance urban Chinese women's marital satisfaction in the early years of marriage.
The aim of this research is to verify the assumption that the husband-to-wife violence lies upon a continuum of severity and to study how the premarital violence experience of husbands, along with their psychological characteristics and various marital interactions, can be the cause of husbands' violence against their wives. At the same time, the research aims at constructing a causal model of the husband-to-wife violence. For the purpose, this research surveyed 242 husbands residing in Pusan and another 50 husbands as violent assaulters in major cities of Korea. The following is a summary of the results of this research. First, the research can verify the two assumptions that “the group which has once inflicted a severe form of violence can easily inflict minor violences” and that “the factors related to violence play a far greater role in severe violences than in weaker violences.” As a result, it may be concluded that the study of a regular household violence can be based on the continuum of violence assumption. Secondly, In the husbands' experience of violence, dating violence and their experienced childhood abuse from their parents, in their psychological characteristics, temper control ability and their patriarchal sex role attitude, and finally in marital interactions, marital conflicts and distractor of communication played great role in their influence on the husband-to-wife violence. Thirdly, as the various factors which contribute to the violence against the wife have cause-and-effect rule, we shall be able to make a model which can be conceptualized.
