자기장이 인가된 충돌제트의 열전달 특성에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Heat Transfer Characteristics of Impinging Jet Flow in the Presence of Applied Magnetic Fields)

  • The present study numerically investigates two-dimensional fluid flow and heat transfer ir the confined jet flow in the presence of applied magnetic field. For the purpose of controlling vortex shedding and heat transfer, numerical simulations to calculate the fluid flow and heat transfer in the confined jet are performed for different Reynolds numbers in the absence and presence of magnetic fields and for different Prandtl numbers of 0.02 (liquid metal), 0.7 (air) and 7 (water) in the range of $0{\le}N{\le}0.05$, where N is the Stuart number (interaction parameter) which is the ratio of electromagnetic force to inertia force. The present study reports the detailed information of flow and thermal quantities in the channel at different Stuart numbers. As the intensity of applied magnetic fields increases, the vortex shedding formed in the channel becomes weaker and the oscillating amplitude of impinging jet decreases. The flow and thermal fields become the steady state if the Stuart number is greater than the critical value. Thus the Nusselt number at the stagnation point representing the heat transfer characteristics also vary as a function of Stuart number.

가상 미세 세기조절방사선치료(Virtual micro-IMRT;VMIMRT) 기법의 임상 적용을 위한 예비적 연구 (A Preliminary Study of Virtual-micro Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy)

  • 세기조절방사선치료(Intensity Modulated Radiation TheraIntensity modulated radiation therapy ; Virtual micro-IMRT ; Intensity map ; MLCpy)에서 세기분포도(intensity map; IM)의 공간적 분해능은 방사선 민감장기(Critical Organ)를 보호하면서 종양에 최대 선량을 주는데 매우 중요하며, 일반적으로 다엽콜리메이터(MLC)의 폭에 좌우된다. 세기분포도의 공간적 분해능을 향상시키기 위한 방법으로는 두. 가지 방법이 있는데, 하드웨어를 추가하는 방법과 방사선 조사 기술을 변경하는 것이다. 물론 다엽콜리메이터의 폭을 작게 만드는 것이 최상의 방법이나, 하드웨어 기술적으로 어렵고 또한 추가비용이 많이 들게 된다. 따라서 여기에서는 추가적 비용이 들지 않으면서 기존의 장비를 그대로 활용할 수 있는 기술적 방법 중의 하나인 가상 미세 세기조절방사선치료(Virtual micro-IMRT) 기법을 구현하여 임상적으로 적용을 하기 위한 예비적 연구를 수행하였다. 가상의 42$\times$54 픽셀크기, 0.5cm의 15 level IM을 이용하여 1$\times$1cm, 0.5$\times$lcm, 0.5$\times$0.5cm(VMIM) beamlet 크기에 대해 비교하였다. 분석결과, 기대와는 달리, 1cm 폭의 MLC로 전달가능한 0.5$\times$lcm beamlet에 비해 크게 개선되지 않았다. 이는 VMIM의 제약조건에 기인되는 것으로 판단된다. 향후, 두경부암에서와 같이 1cm이하의 beamlet 분해능이 요구되는 경우에 적용시켜 추가적인 연구가 필요하다 하겠다.

Experimental Study of Flow Fields around a Perforated Breakwater

  • This study investigates flow fields and energy dissipation due to regular wave interaction with a perforated vertical breakwater, through velocity data measurement in a two-dimensional wave tank. As the waves propagate through the perforated breakwater, the incoming wave energy is reflected back to the ocean, dissipated due to very turbulent flows near the perforations and inside the chamber, and transmitted through the perforations of the breakwater. This transmitted energy is further reduced due to the presence of the perforated back wall. Hence most of the energy is either reflected or dissipated in the vicinity of the structure, and only a small amount of the incoming wave energy is transmitted through the structure. In this study, particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique was employed to measure two-dimensional instantaneous velocity fields in the vicinity of the structure. Measured velocity data was treated statistically, and used to calculate mean flow fields, turbulence intensity and turbulent kinetic energy. For investigation of the flow pattern, time-averaged mean velocity fields were examined, and discussed using the cross-sections through slot and wall for comparison. Flow fields were obtained and compared for various cases with different regular wave conditions. In addition, turbulent kinetic energy was estimated as an approach to understand energy dissipation near the perforated breakwater. The turbulent kinetic energy was distributed against wave height and wave period to see the dependence on wave conditions.

Functionally Graded Piezoelectric Strip with Eccentric Crack Under Anti-plane Shear

  • In this paper, we examine the singular stresses and electric fields in a functionally graded piezoelectric ceramic strip containing an eccentric crack off the center line under anti-plane shear loading with the theory of linear piezoelectricity. It is assumed that the properties of the functionally graded piezoelectric ceramic strip vary continuously along the thickness. Fourier transforms are used to reduce the problem to the solution of two pairs of dual integral equations, which are then expressed to a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. Numerical values on the stress intensity factor and the energy release rate are obtained.

  • Nowadays the aerial photos is using to get the information around our spatial environment and it increases by geometric progression in many fields. The aerial photos need in a simple object such as cartography and ground covey classification and also in a social objects such as the city plan, environment, disaster, transportation etc. However, the shadow, which includes when taking the aerial photos, makes a trouble to interpret the ground information, and also users, who need the photos in their field tasks, have restriction. This study, for removing the shadow, uses the single image and the image without the source of image and taking situation. Also, this study present clustering algorism based on HIS color model that use Hue, Saturation and Intensity, especially this study used I(intensity) to extract shadow area from image. And finally by filtering in Fourier frequency domain creates the intrinsic image which recovers the 3-D color information and removes the shadow.

계수과정의 우도함수 유도 (Derivation of the likelihood function for the counting process)

  • 계수과정은 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있으며 그 성질은 강도함수에 의해 결정된다. 일정 구간에서 연속적으로 과정이 관측될 때, 우도함수를 이용하여 강도함수의 모수를 추정할 수 있다. 그러나 기존의 연구는 직관적인 방법에 의한 우도함수 유도이며, 여러 명의 저자에 의해 얻은 우도함수가 일치하지 않아 우도함수를 이용한 최우추정치를 구하는 문제 등의 적용에 어려움이 발생하고 있다. 따라서 이 단신연구에서는 계수과정의 우도함수를 엄밀한 방법으로 유도하여 기존의 문제점을 해결한다.

  • Rhodamine B dye (RB) has been introduced into the mesoporous silica (SBA15) and Ag anchored mesoporous silica by applying solution impregnation method. Surface treatment of SBA15 with 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APTMS) facilitates selective anchoring of the RB molecules on SBA15. The photoluminescence spectra of RB confined within SBA15 indicates higher emission intensity, than that of the RB solid, particularly in the presence of Ag nanoparticles. The significant enhancement in photoluminescence intensity is attributed to the local enhancement of the optical fields near the molecules by interactions with silver plasmons.

  • P-version finite element model for the computation of stress intensity factors in two dimensional cracked panels by J-integral method is presented. The proposed model is based on high order theory and hierarchical shape function. The displacements fields are defined by integrals of Legendre polynomials which can be classified into three part such as basic mode, side mode, integral mode. The stress intensity factors are computed by J-integral method. The example models for validating the proposed p-version model are centrally cracked panel, single and double edged crack in a rectangular panel under pure Mode I. And the analysis results are compared with those by the h-version of FEM and empirical solutions in literatures. Very good agreement with the existing solution are shown.

혼합모드하중상태에서 전파하는 피로크랙특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Characteristics of Propagating Fatiguc Crack under Mixed-Mode Loading Condition)

  • Practical structures are subject not only to tension but also to shear and torsional loading. In this study, the mode 1 and 2 stress intensity factors of specimens were calculated by using elastic finite element mothod. The stress fields at the crack tip subjected to mixed-mode loading were also studied by usingf eleatic finite element method and were compared with theoretical results. The three-point-bending, four-point-bending, and mixed-mode-loading experiment were carried out. And, crack propagation rate da/dN and crack growth direction were examined. Also, the elastic finite element method was applied to calculate the stress intensity factors of branch crack tip and we relate the stress intenity factor range of branch crack tip(the result of FEM) to crack propagation rate(the experimental result). The .DELTA. -da/dN relation corelated with that of mode 1.

기능 경사 압전 세라믹 스트립의 균열에 관한 연구 (The Crack Problem for Functionally Graded Piezoelectric Ceramic Strip)

  • 면외전단하중(anti-plane shear loading)을 받는 기능경사 압전 세라믹 무한 스트립(functionally graded piezoelectric ceramic strip)의 상하 양쪽 끝단의 중앙에 평행하게 존재하는 유한한 크기의 균열(Griffith crack)에 대한 특이응력(singular stress)과 전기장(electric field)을 선형 압전 이론(theory of linear piezoelectricity)을 이용하여 결정한다. 푸리에 변환(Fourier transform)을 이용하여 복합적분 방정식을 구성하며, 이를 제2종 Fredholm 적분 방정식(Fredholm integral equation of the second kind) 으로 표현한다. 또한 응력세기계수(stress intensity factor)와 에너지 해방률(energy release rate)에 대한 수치 결과를 제시하였다.
