  • This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by PDA(personal digital assistance). So far, owing to the development of internet technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment, We propose a control method activated by PDA. In a proposed system, PDA acts as a user interface to communicate with notebook as a controller of the mobile robot system using TCP/IP protocol, and the notebook controls the mobile robot system. The information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the fuzzy inference engine.

  • This paper describes the results of 2D mapping, feature detection and matching to create the surrounding environment in the mounted stereo camera on Mobile robot. Extract method of image's feature in real-time processing for quick operation uses the edge detection and Sum of Absolute Difference(SAD), stereo matching technique can be obtained through the correlation coefficient. To estimate the location of a mobile robot using ZigBee beacon and encoders mounted on the robot is estimated by Kalman filter. In addition, the merged gyro scope to measure compass is possible to generate map during mobile robot is moving. The Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) of mobile robot technology with an intelligent robot can be applied efficiently in human life would be based.

  • Recently, a need of non-industrial robot, such as service, medical, entertainment and house-keeping robot, has been increased. Therefore, the capability of robot which can do intelligent behavior like interaction with men and its environment become more prominent than the capability of executing simple repetitive task. To implement an intelligent robot which provides intelligent behavior, an effective system architecture including perception, learning, reasoning and action part is necessary. Control architectures for intelligent robot can be divided into two different classes. One is deliberative type controller which is applicate to high level intelligence like environment ...

  • This study proposed a new approach to intelligent control of a mobile robot system by back properpagation based on multi-layer neural network. A experiment result is given in which some artificial assumptions about the linear and the angluar velocities of mobile robots from recent literature are dropped. In this study, we proposed a new thinique to impliment the real time conrol of he position and velocity of mobile robots. With the proposed control techinique, mobile robots can now globally follow any path such as a straight line, a circle and the path approaching th toe origin using proposed controller. Computer simulations are presented, which confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm. Moreover, practical experimental results concerning the real time control are reported with several real line constraints for mobile robots with two wheel driving.

  • In this paper, we propose that the chaotic behavior analysis in the mobile robot of embedding Arnold equation with obstacle. In order to analysis of chaotic behavior in the mobile robot, we apply not only qualitative analysis such as time-series, embedding phase plane, but also quantitative analysis such as Lyapunov exponent in the mobile robot with obstacle. In the obstacle, we only assume that all obstacles in the chaos trajectory surface in which robot workspace has an unstable limit cycle with Van der Pol equation.

In order to analysis of chaotic behavior in the mobile robot, we apply not only qualitative analysis such as time-series, embedding phase plane, but also quantitative analysis such as Lyapunov exponent In the mobile robot with obstacle. We consider that there are two type of obstacle, one is fixed obstacle and the other is VDP obstacle which have an unstable limit cycle. In the VDP obstacles case, we only assume that all obstacles in the chaos trajectory surface in which robot workspace has an unstable limit cycle with Van der Pol equation.

  • This paper describes a fuzzy steering controller for an outdoor autonomous mobile robot using MR(magneto-resistive) sensor. Using the magnetic field difference values(dBy, dBz) obtained from the MR sensor, we designed fuzzy logic controller for driving the robot on the road center and proposed a method to eliminate the Earth magnetic field. To develop an autonomous mobile robot simulation program, we have done modeling MR sensor, mobile robot and coordinate transformation. A computer simulation of the robot including mobile robot dynamics and steering was used to verify the driving performance of the mobile robot controller using the fuzzy logic. So, we confirmed the robustness of the proposed fuzzy controller by computer simulation.

  • We propose a space and time based sensor fusion method and a robust landmark detecting algorithm based on sensor fusion for mobile robot navigation. To fully utilize the information from the sensors, first, this paper proposes a new sensor-fusion technique where the data sets for the previous moments are properly transformed and fused into the current data sets to enable an accurate measurement. Exploration of an unknown environment is an important task for the new generation of mobile robots. The mobile robots may navigate by means of a number of monitoring systems such as the sonar-sensing system or the visual-sensing system. The newly proposed, STSF (Space and Time Sensor Fusion) scheme is applied to landmark recognition for mobile robot navigation in an unstructured environment as well as structured environment, and the experimental results demonstrate the performances of the landmark recognition.
