The Subject of this research is building integrated library to supported to CAAD of the A.E.C field that is oriented to the environment of integrated design. In this research, we design and implement a new library model as a solution of design-data sharing and multi-displaying that is on the rise among many problems in construction integration. We name this integrated library ACO(Actual Component Object) and using the ACO, we can share data without loss in the fields such as construction, estimation, structure. Together with this, the different expressions along each field provide the solution of sharing both graphic data and non-graphic data. This ACO is a newly conceptualized Library that is able to supply a composite structure to an architect(designer) through the internet-based ACO System. To the ACO System that supplies those ACO service, we introduce the concept of DBMS in design and design administrator, and we investigate the solutions that enable an architect to use this ACO directly on the Web.

Most information within a construction project roots in drawings and contract documents. Although several methodologies, such as A/E/C and 4D, have employed such a peculiarity to integrate project information, they failed to integrate information in terms of efficiency and consistency. In this research, a MD (Multi-Dimensional) CAD model is developed to improve the process of integrating information for construction projects. This research describes the processes of creating MD CAD objects and embedding information required throughout the project life cycle within MD CAD building components. In addition, a case study is presented to show the efficiency and effectiveness of using MDIIS (Multi-Dimensional Information Integration System) to integrate information for construction projects.

The field of construction and transportation R&D has been increased and improved wih the integration into the ICT. With the rapid trend changes like the Fourth Industrial Revolution, new direction and solution of R&D policy is being explored to prepare for the convergence era with other diverse research areas. In order to present new direction, it is necessary to analyze the external environment influencing construction and transportation field. In this regard, this study analyzes the science and technology policy plan and goal in Korea. In conclusion, through the policy analysis, this study suggests new direction of construction and transportation R&D in Korea.

3D and BIM technology are presumed to be used more and more in the construction industry. The scope of this paper arose from a general wondering of how the constructor in general can benefit from the use of 3D models. Presented herewith is the first application of BIM in Korea to a actual bridge construction site located in Cheongpoong in Chooncheongbook-Do. This paper tries to integrate design, cost and schedule under location-based conditions with industry-specific solution for 3D modeling. 292 activities constitute the cable-stayed bridge of 442m long with a main span of 327m long. Integration of 3D model, cost and schedule is shown by comparing the measurements of works at a specific time by use of 2 different construction sequencing scenarios and cost breakdown structures.
Evaluation of Freeway Congestion Management Using Mesoscopic Traffic Simulator A mesoscopic simulation study to measure the effects of trip generation caused by rampant expansion of residential area around the Kyungbu corridor has been conducted. Some alternatives, which seem to be judgememtally plausible and technically feasible to mitigate such congestion, have been carefully examined and evaluated by the simulation model called INTEGRATION. Alternatives are mostly network improvements. Banpo IC dedicated ramp construction (A1), Seocho IC TSM based weaving elimination (A2), dedicated local and express separation over Seocho-Yangjae segment (A3), Heonleung IC (A4) and Daewang If installations (A5), Pangyo IC improvement (A6), Baikhyun IC (A7) and Dongbaek IC installations (A8) along with Shingal-Pangyo segment capacity addition (A9). The most capital intensive ones are A9, A5, and A4 in that order. A1, A6, A7, and A8 are short in distance but they are also capital intensive and need some construction periods. The least capital driven alternatives are h2 and A3, the h2 is easier to do, but A3 needs traffic diversion scheme during construction. The A1, A7, and A8 have been identified cost effective in terms of speed increase and travel time saving. Along with these results, some limitations and future research agenda regarding simulation have also been presented.

The purpose of this study is to present an improvement of the form work process. The current slab form work has waste factor by unnecessary process and not complete integration with the finishing process. Therefore the study used value stream analysis methodology for effective improvement of slab form work process. The main contents of the study are as follows; 1) Understanding of non-value adding activities in existing slab form work process 2) Process integration by value stream mapping 3) Effect analysis of time-cost reduction. The study recommends that, as a future research, development of tool and technique for the non-value adding activities are eliminated in building construction.

Function analysis and idea creation phase in Value Engineering(VE) Process is applied to manufacturing Industry for developing functions for elements of products, and in construction come to use various components like process, size of project, spaces as well as function itself due to multi-functional aspect. For this reason, VE applications to the construction industry are considered to be less frequent and efficient than to the manufacturing. To resolve this problem, a new technique of Function Integration Fast(HI FAST) and Hierarchical Value Engineering Concept Modules(HVECM) was made for practical integration and sequence of VE job Plan. Two types of function would be defined In this method, first and second function, during the job Plan process, and two function champions be selected for next creation phase process. For verification of consecutiveness of function analysis and idea creation phase for successful VE project implementation, this methodology was tested under design phase in office and IT Multi-functional building project. Make sure the successful application of this process with this method, need to develop the talent of VE experts and team members for process of function analysis and creation phase.
The purpose of this study is to develop an efficient BIM-based FM(Facility Management) system architecture to integrate the heterogeneous solution data related to FM. The heterogeneous solution data can be an FM system, asset management system, or facility sensor database systems, as well as files created by a modeler. In this study, we define the consideration for the external heterogeneous data integration related to BIM-based FM and propose the methodology. To implement it, trends in related studies were reviewed and general use cases of BIM-based FM were derived to develop the architecture for the integration between BIM and the heterogeneous solution data. The component architecture was designed to implement the use cases, and the schema was developed for the prototype by using the proposed architecture.

The technical expert standing system of our construction industry is operated by the Ministry of Labor subjective national technical qualification law, as the professional engineer, architect and architect-engineer and so on. The construction management(CM) which is introduced on middle 1990 activates a building industry the condition of the essential indispensability for is becoming, is not officially recognized with is judged as the nostril people for qualification of the civil CM educational institutions ha the certification which is a each educational program and a separate way and it is the actual condition which is become accomplished, In this research, it observes the capital increase reserve problem point which is a domestic CM and the certification integration which is a report and system anger it leads and with national certified qualification it develops to present the improvement program for, it does to sleep.

Excavation for construction is implemented in natural geographical terrain using a variety of construction equipment. Therefore, 3D excavation simulation requires integration of geographical and equipment modeling. This paper proposes a technique that integrates geographical and equipment modeling for 3D simulations of construction excavation. The geographical model uses a digital map to show ground surface changes during excavation and the equipment model shows equipment movement and placement. This combination produced a state of the art 3D simulation environment that can be used for machine guidance. An equipment operator can use the 3D excavation simulation to help construction equipment operators with decisions during excavation work and consequently improve productivity.
