  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relation between the later personality adjustment types and the elderly percepted conflict with their married children. The subjects for this study are the aged over 60 years in Seoul both having the eldest sons' couples and perceiving their own economics level as the middle-upper. The results based on this are as followed: 1) The Active Integrated Coper is appeared in the higher educational level group in the better health condition in the 11-30 thousand won of personal expense in the professional and management occupation and in the more vigorous for social activity. The Failing Overcoper the Dependent Passive Coper and the Self-negating Undercoper is appeared in th female elder group in the later group of the older age in the lower educational level in the worse health condition in the group without spouse in one without income in the below 10 thousand won in the less preparation for the later life. 2) The problems of emotion and iew of values bring about the conflicts between them and theirs rather than the financial problem. when they are in the worse health condition in the group without religion in the group not cohabiting their eldest sons' couples and in the group not well-prepared for their later life as the socio-demographic variables the old recognized the seriousness of the conflict with their eldest sons' couples. 3) The lower the Active Integrated Coper is and the higher the Failing Overcoper is the more intense the conflict between them and their eldest sons' couples is. 4) The t-test to examine the difference in the old's conflict with their eldest sons' couples among the later groups shows that it is in the less the Active Integrated Coper and in the more the Failing Overcoper that the conflict is more surfaced. 5) The educational level the level of the later life preparation the contact frequency with their daughter the level of their social activity as the socio-demographic variables and the Failing Overcoper as the later personality adjustment type answer for 22 percentage of the conflict.

Positive impact of integrated amrita meditation technique on heart rate, respiratory rate and IgA on young healthy adults

  • The objective of the current study was to find out the effect of Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique (IAM) on blood pressure (BP), heart rate (HR), respiratory rate (RR) and IgA. One hundred and fifty subjects were randomized into three groups IAM, Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) and Control. Baseline values were collected before giving the training for all the subjects and the IAM and PMR groups were given training in the respective techniques. BP, HR, RR and IgA were recorded manually at 0 h, 48 h, 2 months and 8 months after the first visit. HR was found to be reduced in the IAM group 48 h onwards and the fall sustained till 8 months (p < 0.05). IAM group showed significant drop when compared to the PMR group and control group in all the subsequent visits (p < 0.05). RR decreased significantly in the IAM group in the third and fourth visits (p < 0.05). RR of IAM showed significant decrease when compared to PMR and control from the third visit onwards. IgA showed significant increase in comparison with PMR and control in the third and fourth visits. BP did not show any difference in any of the visits. There was subject dropout from randomization to completion of the study, in all the three groups. The significant decrease in HR and RR and increase in IgA in the IAM group when compared to the PMR and control group shows the efficacy of the technique in reducing the physiological stress indicators for up to 8 months.

PNF 상·하지 통합패턴과 볼링 운동이 자세 부정렬을 가진 20대 성인의 자세에 미치는 영향 (A Comparison between Integrated Patterns of PNF and Bowling Exercises)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to verify the effect of integrated patterns (IPs) of PNF on individuals with malalignment using upper extremity and lower extremity patterns simultaneously. This information was then compared to the effect of bowling exercises on malalignment. The study population included individuals in their twenties with malalignment in their posture. Methods: Individuals with malalignment (40 participants in total) were divided into 2 groups based on trunk inclination and side deviation. In one group, IPs of PNF were used as interventions, while the other group used bowling exercises. This process was completed over the course of four weeks. The IP group used two patterns simultaneously: flexion-adduction-external rotation and extension-abduction-internal rotation. These patterns were used in the upper and lower extremities and were crossed diagonally. Results: The trunk inclination decreased in the IP and the bowling group. In the IP group, the degree of inclination decreased from 0.94 to 0.33. The side deviation also decreased to 1.53 (p < 0.05). In the bowling group, the two measured values decreased significantly (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Compared to the bowling exercises used in the bowling group, the results of this study indicate that the use of IPs had a significant effect on trunk inclination and side deviation for malalignment posture patients. Individuals can easily improve malalignment using IPs of PNF (for example, at home or at their office), which suggests that they are not required to seek assistance from a fitness or bowling center, which may save them time.

Comparison of Quality Characteristics and Palatability between Sous-Vide Cooked Pork Loin Patties with Different Searing Treatments

  • This study compared the quality, cooking, textural, and palatability characteristics between sous-vide (SV) cooked pork loin patties with different searing treatments (ST). Before SV cooking, STs were conducted on each side of the pork loin patties for 0 (control) to 120 s (ST120), and all patties were then cooked using an SV cooker at 75℃ for 120 min. Noticeable differences were observed in quality properties between the groups. The seared SV loin patties exhibited lower lightness and higher browning index values compared to the unseared SV loin patties (p<0.001). Cooking loss gradually increased with increasing ST times, and the control group had a lower percentage compared to the ST60 group (19.5 vs. 25.7%, p<0.001). Changes in cooking properties were associated with the extent of ST, and the ST groups exhibited a higher hardness value compared to the control group (p<0.001). Regarding palatability, loin patties from the control group scored lower in appearance acceptability compared to patties from the ST groups (p<0.05) due to extent of browning on the surface. Moreover, the ST groups did exhibit a higher flavor intensity compared to the control group, but no differences were observed in tenderness and juiciness scores between the control and ST60 groups. Due to these results, the ST60 group exhibited a greater score in overall acceptability compared to the other groups except for the ST90 group. Therefore, an additional ST before SV cooking can achieve a more appealing appearance and palatability as well as to enhance the availability of pork loin.

Integrated Rehabilitation for Children with Cerebral palsy: A Prospective Observational Study

  • Objectives: This study aimed to analyse: 1) the clinical effectiveness and safety of traditional Korean Medicine (TKM) and frequency of TKM therapies used and their relationship with conventional treatments. Methods: This prospective observational study enrolled children with cerebral palsy (CP) aged 6-78 months (n=126). The children who used herbal medication for >30 days or acupuncture treatment >12 sessions within 6 months were defined as the integrated rehabilitation (IR) group; the remaining participants were included in the conventional rehabilitation (CR) group. Results: Changes in the Gross Motor Function Measure-66 (GMFM-66) were greater in the IR group (6.4±6.1) than in the CR group (4.6±5.8). The reduction in the number of other health problems was greater in the IR group than in the CR group. The GMFM-66 improvement was greatest in gross motor function classification system level 1. There was no between-group difference in the frequency of rehabilitation therapy (10.9±6.6 and 12.0±9.9 in the IR and CR groups, respectively). Conclusion: TKM may offer additional benefits in terms of the GMFM-66 score and other health problems. However, there is a need for further randomized controlled trials involving a restricted CP type and a controlled treatment type and intensity to confirm these findings.

고등학생들의 통합 탐구 기능 향상을 위한 인지적 스캐폴딩 도구 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of Cognitive Scaffolding Tools for Enhancing the Integrated Science Process Skills of High School Students)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 고등학생들의 통합 탐구 기능 향상을 위한 인지적 스캐폴딩 도구를 개발하고, 그 적용 효과를 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 문헌 연구 및 선행 연구 결과를 토대로 통합 탐구 기능 교육을 위한 수업용 자료 1종과 학생들이 자신의 탐구 능력 수준에 맞추어 선택적으로 학습할 수 있는 개별 학습용 자료 2종을 포함한 인지적 스캐폴딩 도구를 개발하였다. 또한, 통합 탐구 기능에 대한 학생들의 수준을 조사하기 위한 도구로 가설-연역적 탐구 형식으로 구성된 사전, 사후 검사용 탐구 과제를 1개씩 개발하였다. 인지적 스캐폴딩 도구의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 실험군과 대조군의 사전, 사후 검사에 대해 추리 통계를 실시하였다. 또한, 인지적 스캐폴딩 도구의 적용 여부에 따른 고등학생들의 통합 탐구 능력을 Rasch 모형에 따른 Wrightmap을 산출하여 비교하였고, 통합 탐구 기능의 각 요소에 대한 학생들의 수준 변화 양상을 확인하였다. 연구 결과, 인지적 스캐폴딩 도구를 사용했던 실험군은 대조군에 비해 탐구 설계, 자료 수집 및 변환, 자료 해석, 결론 도출 등 모든 평가 요소에서 유의미하게 높은 점수를 보였다. 또한, 인지적 스캐폴딩 도구를 활용했던 학생들은 전반적으로 통합 탐구 능력이 향상되었고, 통합 탐구 기능의 각 요소에서 높은 수준으로 뚜렷하게 변화되는 양상을 보여주었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 학생들이 과학 탐구를 수행하는 과정에서 직면하는 기능적 장벽을 완화 또는 제거하기 위해 인지적 스캐폴딩 도구를 적극적으로 활용할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

장애-비장애 유아 통합 그룹에 적용된 이야기 기반 상호적 음악 활동에 따른 유아의 또래수용 및 놀이상호작용 변화 (Changes in Peer Acceptance and Play Interactions in Integrated Groups of Young Children With and Without Disabilities Through Story-Based Interactive Music Activities)

  • 본 연구는 통합 어린이집을 이용하는 장애-비장애 유아를 대상으로 이야기 기반 상호적 음악 활동이 유아의 놀이 상호작용 행동과 비장애 유아의 장애 유아에 대한 또래수용 태도에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 하였다. 대상자는 만 3-5세의 발달장애 및 발달 지연 유아 6명, 비장애 유아 21명이다. 대상자는 통합 그룹과 비통합 그룹에 배정되어 30분씩 주 2회, 총 10회기의 중재에 참여하였다. 중재는 다양성 인식, 행동 전략 습득, 재경험 및 확장의 3단계로 구성되었으며, 매 회기 중재 이후 자유 놀이 중 나타나는 놀이 상호작용 행동을 측정하였고, 중재 전후에 사회적 측정법을 사용하여 비장애 유아의 또래수용 태도를 측정하였다. 연구 결과, 통합 그룹에 소속된 비장애 유아와 장애 유아의 상호놀이 단절이 유의하게 감소하고, 비장애 아동의 공동행동과 장애 유아의 공동주의가 유의하게 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 통합 그룹의 비장애 유아는 또래 수용 태도에서 유의한 변화가 없었고 비통합 그룹의 비유아는 장애또래에 대한 수용 태도가 유의하게 감소하였다. 본 연구 결과는 이야기 기반 상호적 음악 활동이 장애-비장애 유아 간 상호작용을 향상시키는 효과적인 중재가 될 수 있음을 보여 준다. 반면, 상호작용의 구체적인 변화에 비해 또래수용 태도에서의 미비한 결과는 유아들의 발달수준을 고려할 때 보다 장기적이고 체계적인 개입이 필요함을 시사한다. 또한 장애와 비장애 유아의 개별적 필요에 따른 맞춤형 개입의 중요성도 강조된다. 본 연구는 장애-비장애 유아의 사회적 통합을 위한 개입이 강조되는 시점에 체계적 중재 방향에 대한 중요한 시사점을 제시했다는 데 의의가 있다.

통합적 신체표현활동이 유아의 창의성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Physical Expressive Activities on Creativity in Young Children)

  • 본 연구는 동작의 기본영역이 강조된 통합적 신체표현활동 프로그램을 개발, 실행하여, 본 프로그램 참여가 유아의 창의성 증진에 미치는 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 충청북도소재 A 병설유치원의 단일연령으로 구성된 2개의 만4세반을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 각각 선정하였으며, 10주간 30회에 걸쳐 통합적 신체표현활동 프로그램을 실시하였다. 창의성은 프로그램 실시 전후에 Torrance의 'Torrance Test of Creative Thinking(TTCT)'를 김영채(2010)가 한국판으로 표준화한 유아 창의성 검사 중 도형검사 A형을 사용하여 측정하였다. 수집된 자료를 대응표본 t-test를 사용하여 분석한 결과, 실험집단의 경우 프로그램 참여 이후 창의성 총점과 유창성 및 개방성 점수가 유의미하게 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 반면 공분산 분석을 사용하여 분석한 결과, 창의성 하위차원 중 개방성, 제목의 추상성 및 정교성 점수에서만 실험집단과 통제집단 간의 의미 있는 수준의 차이가 나타났다. 결과적으로 통합적 신체표현활동은 유아의 전반적인 창의성 증진에 효과가 있었으나, 창의성 하위차원에 따라 그 영향은 차별화되는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

임상 간호사를 위한 통합적 완화 돌봄 역량강화 프로그램 개발 및 적용 (The development and application of integrated palliative care empowerment program for clinical nurses)

  • 본 연구는 암환자를 돌보는 임상간호사를 위한 통합적 완화 돌봄 역량 강화 프로그램을 개발하고, 이를 적용하고, 그 효과를 검정하기 위해 실시되었다. 연구방법: 대상자는 D시 소재 2개 대학병원에 근무하는 간호사를 대상으로 편의추출 하였으며, 실험군 17명, 대조군 20명으로 총 37명을 대상으로 하였다. 실험군을 대상으로 통합적 완화 돌봄 역량 강화 프로그램을 2016년 10월 5일~11월 16일까지 주 1회, 7주간 시행하였으며, IBM SPSS Statistics version 19.0 for Windows 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 및 결론: 본 연구 결과 통합적 완화 돌봄 역량 강화 프로그램은 간호사의 통합적 완화 돌봄, 공감 역량, 윤리풍토에 향상에 효과적인 프로그램임이 검증되었다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 다양한 건강 전문직과의 융합하여 적용 가능한 프로그램 개발이 요구된다.

결절교체 유방모형을 이용한 인지.행동 통합 유방암 예방교육 효과 -간호학생을 대상으로- (Effects on Nursing Students of Cognition-Behavior Integrated Breast Cancer Prevention Education Using an Interchangeable Nodule Model)

  • Purpose: The study was done to examine the effects of cognition-behavior integrated breast cancer prevention education, in which a breast model with interchangeable nodules was utilized, on the self-competency of nursing students in performing breast cancer education. Methods: A nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was used. A traditional lecture intervention was provided for 49 3rd year college of nursing students (control group) while the integrated breast cancer prevention education was given to 47 3rd year students in the same college one year later (experimental group). The integrated breast cancer prevention education was developed by the research team to strengthen the competency of cognitive and behavioral components in education on breast cancer. Results: Effects of the intervention were found to be significant through all study variables: knowledge about breast cancer (t=7.79, p <.001), breast cancer risk awareness (t=2.05, p <.05), self-competency of breast self-exam (t=8.27, p <.001), and intention to teach breast self-exam (t=3.87, p <.001). Conclusion: The integrated breast cancer prevention education was useful to improve not only knowledge about breast cancer but competency in performing breast examination for nursing students who acquired technical skills from various simulation nodules. As the program helped the students to be prepared as confident educators, future application of the module is recommended for academic curricula.
