  • 본 연구는 농형 유도 발전기와 양방향 PWM 인버터를 가진 WECS (Wind Energy Conversion System)시스템을 모델링하고 이 모델에 기초하여 제어 법칙을 제안하였다. 제어 법칙은 풍속 따라 작용하는 최적 팁 속도비에 의해 효율이 최대가 되도록 제어하는 것이다. WECS은 바람의 변동이 있어도 최적치에 팁 속도비를 유지하기 위해 터빈의 회전 속도 제어하여 행한다.

  • This paper describes the control of the hand fixing system attached to the finger rehabilitation robot for the rehabilitation exercise of patient's fingers. The finger rehabilitation robot is used to exercise the finger rehabilitation, and a patient's hand is safely fixed using the hand fixing system. In this paper, the hand fixing system was controlled with PD gains to fix a palm of the hand, and the characteristic test for the hand fixing system was carried out to sense the fixed hand movement of the front and the rear, that of the left and the right, and that of the upper. It is thought that the hand fixing system could safely fix the hand, and the movement of the fixed hand could be perceived using the five-axis force/moment sensor attached to the hand fixing system.

  • Many new office buildings are being built as intelligent buildings equipped with building automation(HA) systems, office automation(OA) systems, and telecommunication(TC) systems in order to provide pleasant building environment and the ease of maintenance and facility management. Building control systems which are employed in intelligent buildings require varieties of advanced control systems and network systems for efficient integrated management. Design and installation of these types of advanced building control systems take a lot of efforts and also they are costly. In order to design these systems, it is necessary for the designers to have the integrated simulator including proper network system simulation. In this paper, the integrated simulator that consist of HVAC system, lighting system, elevator system, parking system based on the network system is presented. For the development of integrated simulator, AHENA which is the general-purpose software tool for a simulation with reinforced GUI is used.

  • Due to the many amenities of a modern power with solar power and green energy alternative to injury by cutting down on the number of solar energy and pollution and environmental factors. There is still much research and trying to incorporate a variety of applications. In this paper, create a daytime energy by fusing solar panels and billboards, and at night has the advantage that you can save more energy used to sign by the sign serves also and at the same time energy acts like a tent when the day by using the power usage is expected to be higher.

Structural properties and field-emission characteristics of CNTs grown on Ni and Invar catalysts employing an ICP-CVD method (ICP-CVD 방법을 이용하여 Ni 및 Invar 촉매 위에 성장시킨 탄소나노튜브의 구조적 물성 및 전계방출 특성)

  • Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are grown on the TiN-coated silicon substrate by varying the thickness of Ni and Invar426 catalyst layers at 600$^{\circ}C$ using an inductively coupled plasma-chemical vapor deposition (ICP-CVD). The Ni and Invar426 catalysts are formed using an RF magnetron sputtering system with various deposition periods. Characterization using various techniques, such as FESEM, HRTEM, and Raman spectroscopy, shows that the physical dimension as well as the crystal quality of grown CNTs are strongly changed by the kind and thickness of catalyst materials. It is also seen that Ni catalysts would be more desirable for vertical-alignment of CNTs compared with Invar426 catalysts. However, the CNTs using Invar426 catalysts display much better electron emission capabilities than those using Ni catalysts. The physical reason for all the measured data obtained are discussed to establish the relationship between structural properties and field-emissive properties of CNTs.

Design of an effective controlle via disturbance accommodating left eigenstructure assignment

  • The transient responses of a linear system having undesired disturbances are dominantly governed by the system's left eigenstructure(eigenvalues/left eigenvectors). In control system design problem of altering the transient response of the system, both the controllability and the disturbance suppressibility, should be considered simultaneously to obtain a robust, effective controller. The controllability of the system may be degraded if the left eigenstructure is chosen to suppress the disturbance, or vice versa. In this paper, first, proposed are a modal disturbance suppressibility measure and an improved version of the modal controllability measure suggested by Hamdan and Nayfeh. Second, a simple and general left eigenstructure assignment scheme, considering both the proposed modal disturbance suppressibility measure and the improved version of modal controllability measure, is suggested. When the previous works are applied to assign the left eigenvectors may differ from the desired ones. But the proposed left eigenstructure assignment scheme makes it possible to achieve the desired colsed-loop eigenvalues exactly, provided the desired left eigenvectors reside in the achievable subspace. In case the desired left eigenvectors do not reside in the achievable subspace, the closed-loop eigenvalues are achieved exactly and the left eigenvectors are assigned to the best possible set of eigenvectors in the least square sense. Finally, a numerical example is included to confirm and demonstrate the usefulness of our propositions and to illustrate the proposed design scheme.

Characterization of structural properties of CNTs grown by ICP-CVD (ICP-CVD 방법을 이용한 탄소나노튜브의 제작 및 물성분석)

  • Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were grown with high density on a large area of Ni-coated silicon oxide substrates by using an inductively coupled plasma-chemical vapor deposition (ICP-CVD) of $C_2H_2$ at temperatures ranging from 600 to $700^{\circ}C$. The Ni catalyst was formed using an RF magnetron sputtering system with varying the operating pressure and exposure time of $NH_3$ plasma. The surface morphology of nickel catalyst films and CNTs was examined by SEM and AFM. The graphitized structure of CNTs was confirmed by Ramman spectra, SEM, and TEM. The growth of CNTs was observed to be strongly influenced by the surface morphology of Ni catalyst, which depended on the pre-treatment time and growth temperature. Dense CNTs with uniform-sized grains were successfully grown by ICP-CVD.

  • The home network is the technique to guarantee a safe, economical, socially integrated, and healthy life to the family and it provides domestic safety, instrument control, controllable energy and health monitoring by the connection of the home appliances using wired and wireless networks. A home control system has been developed for managing and controlling home appliances. This paper designs the broadband PLC home controller using broadband PLC technology which can save much cost at a network infrastructure using the existing power line at a home and design the USB home controller using USB technology which is low cost and has many goods with it. And the embedded home server manages those. The CDMA module provides mobile functions to the home control system in this paper. And we choose the OSGi specification which is compatible with other home middleware and can accept various communication techniques of home network

  • Recently, wireless communication system has been widely used in a variety of fields along with the remarkable advancement of communication technology. Sound communication system in underwater wireless communication is utilized in underwater communication since it has better transmission capacity than the existing RF. However, sound communication system has the problems such as low speed communication, transmission delay and limited bandwidth, and the studies have been actively conducted on the visible light communication underwater to improve these problems. Therefore, the visible light communication underwater using ASK modulation is suggested for the effective communication in this article.

  • A considerable amount of research material discussing designs and properties of High Temperature Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (HTS FCL) is available. However, a shortage of research concerning positioning of HTS FCL in power grid is felt. In this paper a feasibility study of HTS FCL positioning in Smart Grid through simulation analysis is carried out. A complete power network (including generation, transmission and distribution) is modeled in Simulink / SimPowerSystems. A generalized HTS FCL is also designed by integrating Simulink and SimPowerSystem blocks. The distribution network of the model has a wind turbine attached to it forming a micro grid. Three phase fault have been simulated along with placing FCL models at key points of the distribution grid. It is observed that distribution grid, having distributed generation sources attached to it, must not have a single FCL located at the substation level. Optimized HTS FCL location regarding the best fault current contribution from wind turbine has been determined through simulation analysis.
