State of the Japanese Security Industry and Its Implications for Korea (일본 시큐리티산업 현황과 한국의 시사점)

  • In Japan, the Security Equipment Association takes the initiative in standardization, the preparation of installation standards and the management of the qualification system. This association is joined by electronic security companies, manufacturers and installers and makes research in security equipment, security alarm system and information security system. But, the Korea Security Association takes the initiative in the security industry in accordance with the security business act, but few electronic security companies that are the hub of the security market have joined the association yet. Currently, there is no organization in which electronic security companies, security equipment manufacturers and installers can participate together, and it's not possible for all the parties concerned to make a concerted effort for the development of security equipment under the circumstances.

  • After reviewing the current status of hydrogen buses and hydrogen charging stations in the United States, as well as related laws and programs, it was found that the federal and state governments supported the supports of hydrogen buses and the deployment of hydrogen charging infrastructure through various policies and programs. In order to promote the spread of domestic and overseas hydrogen buses and hydrogen charging infrastructure, it is necessary to develop and apply various legal systems and programs that can provide incentives to hydrogen bus manufacturers, hydrogen charging station installers, hydrogen bus operating organizations and entities. The Effect of Infection Anxiety about COVID-19 Perceived by Home Appliance Installation and Repair Technicians on Work Stress (가전제품 설치수리기사가 인지하는 코로나19에 대한 감염 불안이 업무스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to understand the effect of infection anxiety about COVID-19 perceived by home appliance installers and repair technicians on work stress. Methods: To collect data, the purpose of the study was explained through the labor union of domestic home appliance service companies, and a survey was conducted through mobile to 286 home appliance installers and repair technicians who agreed to the survey. Results: As a result of the analysis, it was found that age, fatigue, work satisfaction, visit time, and Corona 19 infection anxiety had a significant effect on work stress. In other words, the higher the age, the higher the fatigue, the lower the job satisfaction, the higher the work stress was when the visit time was more than 30 minutes, and the higher the Corona 19 infection anxiety, the higher the work stress. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions are made. First, in order to prevent work stress, we propose the development of a workplace health care program that can solve fatigue. Second, it is necessary to prepare a working environment and provide institutional support to reduce work stress by increasing Job satisfaction. Third, a workplace quarantine measures is needed to prevent infection for essential-workers who do face-to-face work in preparation for possible infectious diseases in the future.

A Study on the Assessment Factors for Car Audio Sound Quaility (자동차용 오디오의 실내음질 평가인자에 관한 연구)

  • It is getting higher the demand on a good sound in a car. Like some other sensory qualities, achieving a good sound is still treated as a black-box followed by the individual taste of tuning engineers. This study aims to define the attributes of a good car audio sound and the assessment factors affecting the sound quality. With a variety of surveys on professional listening groups and car audio installers, 26 most frequently used vocabularies are selected as typical presentations of car audio sound quality. After repetitions of listening tests with deliberately selected test CD, pre-recorded 15 different digital car-recordings, headphones replay system, and three different listening groups, it is proved that there are at least 5 different assessment factors which significantly affect the car audio sound quality. They are high fidelity, spectral balance, tonal accuracy, sound stage and acoustic fault.

  • EHV power cables can take any damage during shipping, transportation, handling, storage and installation. As the damage influences a reliability of the power cable system in the short and long periods, field tests have been required, for installers, to confirm the reliability of an installed system and, for utilities, to make sure the compatibility of an installed system. Of field tests, a HV withstand test for the cable insulation has been performed to check the soundness of the insulation. For EHV XLPE power cables, the test has been done by applying a specified d.c voltage till lately. But as some problems with the d.c test is emphasized and the equipment for the a.c test is improved, the a.c test is considered positively as an after-installation test. This paper describes the recent trends of the a and its recent application in the field.

  • To expect accurately the maximum power of solar cell module under various installation conditions, it is required to know the performance characteristics like temperature dependence. Today, the PV (photovoltaic) market in Korea has been growing. Also BIPV (building integrated photovoltaic) systems are diversified and become popular. But thermal dependence of PV module is little known to customers and system installers. In IEC 61215,a regulation for testing the crystalline silicon solar cell module, the testing method is specified for modules. However there is limitation for testing the module with diverse application examples. In extreme installation method, there is no air flow between rear side of module and ambient, and it can induce temperature increase. In this paper, we studied the roof type installation of PV module on the surface of one-axis tracker system. We measured temperature on every component of PV module and compared to open-rack structure. As a result, we provide the foundation that explains temperature characteristics and NOCT (nominal operation cell temperature) difference. Factors Influencing the Repurchase Intention of Gas Boiler Users (가스보일러 사용자들의 재구매의도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Decision making for gas boiler consumers depends on the characteristics of products such as the price and quality as well as the brand image. Although a gas boiler is a high involvement product in terms of price, in fact, it is a low involvement product which is greatly affected by installers. This study examined variables which affect the level of satisfaction and repurchase intention by surveying about 1,000 housewives through an on-line questionnaire. The results were as follows: first, gas boiler users' general knowledge of gas boilers showed a correct-answer rate of 54.5%. The average satisfaction score of product quality (mean=5.61 out of 7) was higher than that of the satisfactionscore of the company's service (mean=5.46). Second, the level of repurchase intention was above the mid-point (mean=4.72). Multivariate regression found that product satisfaction, service satisfaction, household size, and information sources explained repurchase intentions for gas boilers to be about 50.7%. Gas boiler marketers should pay attention to the survey result in that the level of repurchase intention depends mainly on both consumer satisfaction and information sources.

  • The PSK (Pre-shared Secret Key) based method is appropriate for the IoT environment consisting of lightweight devices since this method requires less computing time and energy than the method to configure the session key based on the public key algorithm. A fundamental prerequisite for the PSK based method is that PSK should have been configured between the communication entities safely in advance. However, in case of a small sensor or actuator, no input and output interface such as keyboard and monitor required for configuration exists, so it is more difficult to configure PSK for such lightweight devices safely in the IoT environment than the previous Internet devices. Especially, normal users lack expertise in security so they face difficulty in configuration. Therefore, the default value configured at the time of manufacturing at factories is used or the device installer configures PSK in most cases. In such case, it is a matter for consideration whether all installers and manufacturers can be trusted or not. In order to solve such problem, this paper proposes a secure bootstrapping scheme, which utilizes the NFC (Near Field Communication) as an OOB (Out-Of-Band) channel, for lightweight devices with limited resources.
