  • Revenue management problems originated in the 1970's in the context of the airline industry have been successfully introduced in airline industries. It has started on the capacity control by booking classes for available seats, and has been recognized as a powerful tool to maximize the total revenue. Changing customer behavior and airline market environments, however, has required a new mechanism for improving the revenue. Dynamic pricing is one of innovative tools which is to adjust prices according to the market status. In this paper, we consider a dynamic pricing and seat control problem for discrete time horizon. The problem can be modeled as a stochastic programming problem. Applying the linear approximation technique and given the price set for each time, we suggest a mixed Integer Programming model to solve our problem efficiently. From the simulation results, we can find our model makes good performance and can be expanded to other comprehensive problems.

  • Due to the rapid development of digital technnology and informantion communication, in the IEC 61850 based substation automation system, the innovative paradigm shift is expected and also required in many substation-related jobs, especially in the device function test area Accordingly a common testing model which can simplify the complex contents of the SAS performance test performed by test engineers has been identified, that can overcome limitations of engineers' own testing knowledge and experience. Testing models and its design system for the comprehensive performance test of the Substation Automation System is developed and the result of the study is reported in this paper.

  • The objective of this study is to find the factors influencing the use of mobile service. We extracted critical study variables according to literature reviews about adoption of information systems, those under the internet environment and mobile internet adoption for theoretical foundation. TAM suggested by Davis(1985) has explained the acceptance mechanism with the following constructs: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward use, behavioral intention and actual usage. After studying prior literature reviews, this study investigated the group of people using mobile services. The result of study claims that it has same results with previous TAM, especially between personal innovativeness and attitude toward use have strong statistical relations. On the other hand, there haven't been any statistical relations between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness and between perceived usefulness and behavioral intention, either. In conclusion, use of mobile service can be promoted by developing various kinds of mobile service, designing device and interface to use mobile service more convenience and familiar, stimulating user's innovative characters and recognizing mobile service more useful in real life.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the behavior characteristics of new hollow reinforced concrete (RC) bridge pier sections with triangular reinforcement details and to provide the details and reference data. Among the numerous parameters, this study concentrates on the shape of the section, the reinforcement details and the spacing of the transverse reinforcement. Additional eight column section specimens were tested under quasi-static monotonic loading. In this study, the computer program, named RCAHEST (Reinforced Concrete Analysis in Higher Evaluation System Technology), was used. A innovative confining effect model was adopted for new hollow bridge pier sections. This study documents the testing of new hollow RC bridge pier sections with triangular reinforcement details and presents conclusions based on the experimental and analytical findings.

  • Due to the rapid advancement of technologies, a growing number of innovative products with a short life-cycle have been introduced to the market. As the life-cycles of such products are shorter than those of durable goods, the demand variation during the life-cycle adds to the difficulty of inventory management. Traditional inventory planning models and techniques mostly deal with products that have long life-cycles. The assumptions on the demand pattern and subsequent solution approaches are generally, not suitable for dealing with products with short life-cycles. In this research, inventory replenishment problems based on the logistic demand model are formulated and solved to facilitate the management of products with short life-cycles. An extended Wagner- Whitin approach is used to determine the replenishment cycle, schedules and lot-sizes.

  • This study investigates internet shopping behavior of consumers. The rapid growth of the internet shopping markets is solely dependent on the voluntary adoption of internet shopping medium by the personal users. But the studies on this topic are very limited. Based on these facts, this study, recognizing the internet shopping medium as an innovation, studies how consumers understand and use innovative internet shopping medium by applying and extending the technology acceptance model proposed by Davis et. al.(1989). The results of the survey on 947 consumer panel reveal that compatibility, system quality have positive impact on the formation of perceived ease of use. And it is also shown that the perceived ease of use, system quality, and compatibility have positive influence on perceived usefulness, but computer-efficacy has no effect on perceived usefulness. Meanwhile, it is confirmed that perceived usefulness and compatibility have positive effect on attitude toward internet shopping behavior, but perceived ease of use has no effect. In addition, perceived security and social norm, as opposed to the hypotheses, are shown to have no effect on internet shopping behavior. Lastly, applications and related limitations are discussed.

  • This study looks at the customer's perceived value and perceived risk of Fashion merchandise e-commerce and the Shopping-mall trust of the Internet shopping-mall these external variables are applied to the innovative technical use model, the TAM(Technology Acceptance Model), to see the effect on the Shopping-mall attitude toward using the Internet shopping-mall and intention of purchase. Through this, the external variables that play an important role in e-commerce can be studied. The result showed that purchase intention of an individual differs by shopping-mall type and different factors affect purchase intention of the fashion merchandise for each shopping-mall type.

  • Purpose : The aim of this article is to describe the nurses' experiential learning mechanism on patient safety. Methods : To analyze nurses' learning experiences on patient safety cases, a focus-group interview method was used. The Kolb's experiential learning model was used as a reference model. Findings : Without deep reflective reasoning about specific experiences, there is no creative or innovative solutions to experiment actively. Nurses are likely to be reluctant learners when there is no systemic support from formal departments which is in charge of patient safety and quality of care. Conclusion : In order to build patient safety culture in hospital, there should be efforts to make nurses as active learners on patient safety as well as to build learning environments in medical units.

  • In order to improve the constructability and meanwhile ensure excellent seismic behavior, several innovative composite connection details were conceived and studied by the authors. This paper reports experimental results and observations on seismic behavior of steel beam bolted to reinforced concrete column connections (bolted RCS or BRCS). The proposed composite connection details involve post tensioning the end plates of the steel beams to the reinforced concrete or precast concrete columns using high-strength steel rods. A rational design procedure was proposed to assure a ductile behavior of the composite structure. Strut-and-tie model analysis indicates that a bolted composite connection has a favorable stress transfer mechanism. The excellent capacity and behavior were then validated through five full-scale beam to column connection model tests.

  • In our study, we tried to develop and test a model that aids further understanding of the sources of customer loyalty in the 3G telecommunications service. In addition, as the 3G could be understood as an innovative telecommunications service, we assume that the impact of factors related service attributes affecting customer loyalty is moderated by the customer's innovativeness. We analyzed our research model using 3G service users' data in Korea. Our results will have significant strategic implications for firms in this highly competitive industry. Particularly, it can be useful for mobile carriers interested in customer retention management and supposed to deliver a new telecommunications service like the 4G service that is on the horizon.
