Effects of Accumulator Heat Exchanger on the Performance of a Refrigeration System (열교환기 내장형 어큐뮬레이터가 냉동시스템의 성능에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • An AHX (Accumulator Heat exchanger) consists of a commercial accumulator and an inner heat exchanger located inside of the accumulator. The AHX is used in multi air-conditioners to assure that liquid-phase refrigerant enters into the expansion device. This purpose is achieved by heat transfer between the refrigerant leaving the evaporator and the refrigerant leaving the condenser. In this study, the effects of AHX on the performance of a refrigeration system using R-22 were measured and the test results were analyzed. The operating characteristics of the refrigeration system with the AHX are considerably different from those without the AHX. Therefore, it is required to determine optimum refrigerant charge and optimum operating conditions when the AHX is used in the refrigeration system having a constant flow-area expansion device such as capillary tube.

Heat Transfer Experiment and Analysis to Predict the Efficiency of Heat Exchanger for Deep Geothermal System (심부지열 용 동축 열교환기 성능예측을 위한 열전달 실험 및 해석)

  • The Heat exchanger for deep geothermal system is very important to enhance the efficiency of the system. The co-axial heat exchanger is used due to the limitation of digging space. The heat transfer on the external surface of outer pipe should be high to receive a large amount of heat from the ground. However, the inner pipe should be insulated to reduce the heat loss and increase the temperature of discharge water. This study made experiment apparatus to describe the co-axial heat exchanger and measure the heat transfer coefficients on the internal and external surface. And the pin-fin was designed and fixed on the internal surface to increase the efficiency of heat exchanger. Finally, we calculated the temperature of discharge water using the heat transfer circuit of co-axial heat exchanger and heat transfer coefficient which from experimental results. The water temperature was reached the ground temperature at -500 m and following the ground temperature. When the water return to the ground surface, the water temperature was decreased due to heat loss. As the pin-fin case, the heat transfer coefficient on the internal surface was decreased by 30% and it mean that the pin-fin help to insulate the inner pipe. However, the discharge water temperature did not change although pin-fin fixed on the inner pipe.

Change of the Moisture and Temperature in Planting Ground as Effected by Different Soil Thickness, Soil Mixture Ratios and Ground Cover Plants in the Green Roof System (옥상녹화에서 토심, 토양배합비 및 지피식물에 따른 식재지반 수분 및 온도변화)

  • This paper has attempted to investigate the change in soil moisture volume and temperature of architecture by planting ground(soil thickness and soil mixture ratio) and ground cover plants(Sedum sarmentosum, Zoysia japonica, Chrysanthemum zawadskii) for middle region green roof system. For this, a test was conducted on the roof of Konkuk University building from April 2009 to October 2009. In terms of treatment, five types(SL, $P_7P_1L_2$, $P_6P_2L_2$, $P_5P_3L_2$, $P_4P_4L_2$) depending on soil mixture ratio and two types(15cm, 25cm) by soil depth were created. Results of soil moisture volume by soil mixture ratio in the 15cm soil thickness showed that the difference was significance between simple soil and mixture soil treatment, however, the statistical significance was not recognized according to soil mixture ratio. In case of 25cm soil thickness, soil moisture volume by soil mixture ratio was more higher 7Vol.%~10Vol.% in the mixture soil than simple soil treatment. In terms of districts planted ground cover plants, soil volume moisture differed among plants in the order Zoysia japonica 17.74 Vol.%$34.86^{\circ}C$, district non-planted $27.49^{\circ}C$, Sedum sarmentosum $25.11^{\circ}C$, Chrysanthemum zawadskii $23.08^{\circ}C$, Zoysia japonica $24.45^{\circ}C$ respectively So, concrete surface showed more higher $5^{\circ}C{\sim}15^{\circ}C$ than other things among the all the time. Result of inner temperature of the architecture and soil, it was measured inner of architecture $25.69^{\circ}C$, inner district non-planted $24.29^{\circ}C$, Chrysanthemum zawadskii $23.90^{\circ}C$, Zoysia japonica $24.02^{\circ}C$, Sedum sarmentosum $25.13^{\circ}C$, respectively.

Modeling of temperature distribution in a reinforced concrete supertall structure based on structural health monitoring data

  • A long-term structural health monitoring (SHM) system comprising over 700 sensors of sixteen types has been implemented on the Guangzhou Television and Sightseeing Tower (GTST) of 610 m high for real-time monitoring of the structure at both construction and service stages. As part of this sophisticated SHM system, 48 temperature sensors have been deployed at 12 cross-sections of the reinforced concrete inner structure of the GTST to provide on-line monitoring via a wireless data transmission system. In this paper, the differential temperature profiles in the reinforced concrete inner structure of the GTST, which are mainly caused by solar radiation, are recognized from the monitoring data with the purpose of understanding the temperature-induced structural internal forces and deformations. After a careful examination of the pre-classified temperature measurement data obtained under sunny days and non-sunny days, common characteristic of the daily temperature variation is observed from the data acquired in sunny days. Making use of 60-day temperature measurement data obtained in sunny days, statistical patterns of the daily rising temperature and daily descending temperature are synthesized, and temperature distribution models of the reinforced concrete inner structure of the GTST are formulated using linear regression analysis. The developed monitoring-based temperature distribution models will serve as a reliable input for numerical prediction of the temperature-induced deformations and provide a robust basis to facilitate the design and construction of similar structures in consideration of thermal effects.

The Empirical Analysis on the relevancy between the IT competency of the Group Enterprises, and the IT Service Firms' Management Performance (국내 대형 그룹사 IT수준 및 계열 IT서비스사 경영 성과의 관련성에 관한 실증 연구)

  • In this paper, we analyse empirically the relation between the IT competency of the Group enterprises, and the management performance of the subsidiary IT service firms in Korea. The 24 IT service firms and relative Group enterprises are included for analysis. The various hypotheses established are validated by t-test method statistically. The results shows that IT competency level of the Group enterprises was affected by not only their sales volumes, new investment volume of IT service, but system management(SM) and inner captive market's sales volume of subsidiary IT service firms also. Additionally the sales volume of IT service firms was affected positively by their inner-captive market's sales, system management sales volume, and the sales volume of their Group enterprise. The service competency of the subsidiary IT service firms is shown as more high in the lower intensity of outer-captive and system integration(SI) business, as well as in the upper intensity of inner-captive and SI business.

Performance Characteristics of Vehicle Air Conditioning System Using Internal Heat Exchanger with Inner Fin (휜 타입 내부열교환기 적용에 따른 차량용 냉방시스템 성능 특성)

  • Internal heat exchanger (IHX) apparatus using the temperature difference between high and low pressure lines in vehicle air conditioning system is a good method to enhance the cooling performance. In this study, we designed various double-pipe internal heat exchangers which have inner fins between the internal pipe and external pipe. We also measured the performance characteristic (pressure drop, cooling capacity, compressor work and coefficient of performance (COP)) of the modified internal heat exchangers that had the change of the fin height and the inside shape of the internal pipe. This experimental results indicated that the liner and serration type internal heat exchanger was the best cooling performance. In addition, the air conditioning system with the liner and serration type internal heat exchanger showed the improved performances of about 6.4% and 9.2%, respectively, for the cooling capacity and COP.

  • In this paper a communication system that is not using the communication line but power line is presented. It will be very useful for an information-oriented society with tele-metering and home automation. Conventional system has a difficulty in transmitting information due to decreasing communication voltage and increasing carrier, current. Proposed idea is a special type switching amplifier system which has a low inner resistance. It can provide reactive power and dose not have low impedance between the transceivers. This new system is proposed to overcome the loss of conductor load in a PLC system.

  • Comparison 3-port servo system with 4-port is made to obtain optimal design for heavy and unidirectional hydraulic system, It is concluded that 3-port servo system it more adequate than 4-port for the heavy load system which is usually operated at lower frequencies. High performance electro-hydraulic position controller is designed using 3-port servo valve. It includes dynamic pressure feedback as a inner loop and position feedback as a outer loop.

  • The port entry system of the inner harbor in Pyeongtaek${\cdot}$Dangjin was planned as lock-gate in 'Master plan project on port planning in Asan industry base(1990)‘, but was changed to tidal harbor in 'Project maintaining Master plan for comprehensive development of Pyeongtaek${\cdot}$Dangjin port(2001)'. Accordingly, southern sea bank constructed under the lower part of Seohae-bridge will be removed so that inbound/outbound vessels for the inner harbor can navigate at all times. However, in the view of the safety on passing through the lower of Seohae-bridge, navigating conditions for the inner harbor will be restricted in the single-way of 50,000 DWT vessel and the two-way of vessel less than 30,000 DWT Therefore, this study carried out the estimation of traffic congestion arising from these vessels with above restrictions q[ter supposing annual inbound/outbound vessel's numbers for loading and unloading cargo surveyed on the inner harbor.
