  • The area under the curve(AUC) is commonly used as a measure of the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve which displays the performance of a set of binary classifiers for all feasible ratios of the costs associated with true positive rate(TPR) and false positive rate(FPR). In the bipartite ranking problem where one has to compare two different observations and decide which one is "better", the AUC measures the quantity that ranking score of a randomly chosen sample in one class is larger than that of a randomly chosen sample in the other class and hence, the function which maximizes an AUC of bipartite ranking problem is different to the function which maximizes (minimizes) accuracy (misclassification error rate) of binary classification problem. In this paper, we develop a way to construct the unified framework for AUC maximizer including support vector machines based on maximizing large margin and logistic regression based on estimating posterior probability. Moreover, we develop an efficient algorithm for the proposed unified framework. Numerical results show that the propose unified framework can treat various methodologies successfully.

  • To transmit users' intentions that vary with each person, intuitive and hi-directional interactions between users and a computer are necessary. We considered these interactions by dividing them into two spaces, physical space and informational space. Informational space supports human thinking process by arranging and visualizing much information. Physical space reproduces the real world where various restrictions exist to virtual space. From the viewpoint of three aspects - contents model, kansei model and context model - we defined the style of the interaction between user and multimedia database. In this paper, for the purpose of examining the way to realize the interaction based on these models, we developed interior design coordination support system and garden coordination system, and then evaluated them.

  • Purpose: This study examined the relationship between the level of activity daily living and powerlessness of spinal cord injury patients'. Method: The subjects for the study consisted of 68 persons agreed above twenty below seventy had had spinal cord injury. The data were collected from November 1, 2003 to January 30, 2004. The instruments used for this study were ADL check List and Powerlessness Scale. The data were analysed by using SPSS computerlized program and included number, percentage, t-test and ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient. Results: The mean of activity daily living was paraplegia $49.53{\pm}10.91$ and tetraplegia $25.65{\pm}13.24$. The mean of powerlessness was paraplegia $35.22{\pm}9.50$ and tetraplegia $37.55{\pm}9.01$. In the relationship between activity daily living and powerlessness were significant difference. Conclusion: in order to increase the level of activity daily living of rehabilization nurse should be helpful to provide them. Also, it could be identified that informational support was important, that is, the lesser the informational support, spinal cord injury patient don't feel the powerlessness.

  • Purpose: More and more marketers use social media platforms to create and spread information called Marketer Generated Content (MGC) to inform consumers of products. MGC often embeds product purchase links, thus directing consumers to online distribution channels for online purchases. This study examined the effect of social media MGC on consumers' willingness to buy online in the anchor of consumers' perspective to answer the question of "how social media generated content support corporate online distribution". Research design, data, and methodology: According to the means-end-chain theory, we introduce perceived value and continuous following intention as chain mediators to explain the mechanism of MGC influence on consumers' online purchase intention and consider product type to discuss boundary conditions. Two experiments were designed to test hypothesizes. Results and Conclusion: First, emotional MGC (vs. informational MGC) has lower (higher) perceived utility (hedonic) value. Second, perceived value has a significant mediate role in the effect of MGC on continuous following intention. Third, perceived value and continuous following intention significantly and sequentially mediated the effect of MGC on online purchase intention. Through the sequential mediations of perceived utility value and continuous following intention, Informational MGC of search products significantly increase online purchase intentions. Another parallel sequential mediation, including perceived hedonic, emotional MGC of experience products, partially enhanced online purchase intentions. Finally, this study gives implications for how corporates can use social media MGC to promote product sales online.

In social support source the mean score of peer support was higher than family support. In social support type the mean score of expressive support was higher than other support type. 2. Social support source was found significantly different according to sex of the children educational level of the father and mother and income. Social support type was found significantly different according to sex of the children educational level of the father and mother. Maladjustment were found significantly different according to sex of the children educational level of the father and mother Maladjustment were found significantly different according to sex of the children educational level of the father and mother income and marital satisfaction of the mother. 3. In social support source it was significantly it was signif cantly different according to all maladjustment subscale in family support and to over-anxiousness social withdrawal and hyperactivity in peer support. In social support type it was significantly different according to over-anxiousness hyperactivity and delinquency in esteem support and to over-anxiousness in informational support.

  • The library of elementary schools, which plays a role in the basic education to grow a responsible social member in an information society and to develop ability for collection, selection, summary, and utilization of various information, could be considered as new educational center. It should be changed to the establishment of informational education for preparing the information society in 21st century through the functional extension of the conventional library as reading and bookstand. Furthermore, it is necessary of trials that converts to the support system for interchange between establishment and student, for preparing educational system of teaching or studying, and for opening establishment to local communities in the future.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the concept of social support of nursing students using a hybrid model and to derive a definition and attributes of social support through theoretical, fieldwork, and final analysis stages. Methods: Twenty-nine studies were analyzed in the theoretical stage. Seventeen in-depth interviews were conducted with nursing students in the fieldwork stage. In the final analysis stage, the concept of social support was defined and the attributes were derived by integrating the theoretical and fieldwork stages. Results: The attributes of social support of nursing students identified in the final analysis consisted of two dimensions and eight attributes. The two dimensions were structural and functional support. The eight attributes were social network, educational, emotional, informational, economic, positive evaluation, self-esteem support, and support by providing a role model provision. The structural dimension included the social network support attribute. The functional dimension included the remaining seven attributes. Educational support and support by providing of a role model provision were newly derived attributes that reflected specific characteristics of nursing students. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, we suggest that researchers should attempt to develop a scale to measure the social support of nursing students.

Method: A structured questionnaire was administered to 203 elderly subjects from April 2003 to June 2003. The data were analyzed with an SPSS program for escriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, t-test, ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression. Result: The level of social support was moderate; family support received the highest score among sources of support. In types of support, appraisal support was the highest score and material was the lowest. The level of self esteem was also moderate. The score of social support showed a slightly high positive correlation with self esteem. In general characteristics, several variables were significantly related to self esteem. The most powerful predictor of self esteem was material support by family and the variance explained was 19.6%. A combination of material support by family, informational support by relatives, perceived economic status, perceived health status, and having a subject to depend on accounted for 39.8% of the variance in self esteem of the elderly. Conclusion: To increase the self esteem of the elderly, it is necessary to consolidate material support by family.

  • The study identifies the importance of informational and legislative support in ensuring gender equality. It determines the relevance of gender inequality, the main problem, which is confirmed by research and statistical information. The study aims to determine the methods of collecting information and legal regulation of gender issues and the possibility of solving them by public authorities. The main methods of gathering information are census surveys, questionnaires, surveys on public service websites, work with local communities, surveys in nursing homes and orphanages, special survey programs, and election polls. The paper considers the legal regulation of gender inequalities at the international, state, local and organizational levels. According to the analysis of the problem of gender inequality, it is established that the problem is practically eliminated in many developed countries, while countries with low incomes face gender inequality constantly.
