  • The sharing economy has been evaluated as a sustainable system dominating the next 10 years and one of the 10 ideas which can change the world. The purpose of this study is to reveal whether there is any relevance between the sharing economy and libraries, if the library can be the core model of the sharing economy, and to propose how libraries could contribute to a sharing economy. To this end, literature related to the sharing economy and the actual cases of its implementation were analyzed. The results are as follows: First, the library was evaluated as a successful model of the sharing economy because it has shared information and tools for centuries. Therefore, it was concluded that the library could be an institution that can lead to a sharing economy. Second, it was analyzed that the library could foster the sharing economy through offering its space, and functioning as the infinite imagination room and smart work center, sharing goods through Little Free Libraries, as well as various other resources of library, and sharing various types of knowledge including reference services. Third, it can be said that the possibility of realizing a shared economy in libraries is inexhaustible, and librarians can play an active role and will positively influence the success or failure in terms of realizing the sharing economy. In the future, there needs to be a study to measure the practices and the performance of the sharing economy of libraries.

  • In 2011, Chen and Wu proposed their method of sharing n secret images to n+1 shadow images through the concept of a Boolean-based Visual Secret Sharing (VSS) method. However, the shadow images produced by this method are not equally important. If the participant who owns an important shadow image does not want to cooperate with other participants, most secret images can not be reconstructed. In the proposed method, the relationship between the shadows images and secret images are designed in a circular way mostly. Each shadow image only relates to two secret images. This means that if one participant refuses to cooperate with other participants, there are only two secret images which can not be reconstructed. Moreover, our proposed method only needs to produce n shadow images and n secret images can be shared to them.

  • Cognitive radio-simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (CR-SWIPT) has attracted much interest since it can improve both the spectrum and energy efficiency of wireless networks. This paper focuses on the resource sharing between a point-to-point primary system (PRS) and a multiuser multi-antenna cellular cognitive radio system (CRS) containing a large number of cognitive users (CUs). The resource sharing optimization problem is formulated by jointly scheduling CUs and adjusting the transmit power at the cognitive base station (CBS). The effect of accessing CUs' spatial channel correlation on the possible transmit power of the CBS is investigated. Accordingly, we provide a low-complexity suboptimal approach termed the semi-correlated semi-orthogonal user selection (SC-SOUS) algorithm to enhance the spectrum efficiency. In the proposed algorithm, CUs that are highly correlated to the information decoding primary receiver (IPR) and mutually near orthogonal are selected for simultaneous transmission to reduce the interference to the IPR and increase the sum rate of the CRS. We further develop a spatial correlation-based resource sharing (SC-RS) strategy to improve energy sharing performance. CUs nearly orthogonal to the energy harvesting primary receiver (EPR) are chosen as candidates for user selection. Therefore, the EPR can harvest more energy from the CBS so that the energy utilization of the network can improve. Besides, zero-forcing precoding and power control are adopted to eliminate interference within the CRS and meet the transmit power constraints. Simulation results and analysis show that, compared with the existing CU selection methods, the proposed low-complex strategy can enhance both the achievable sum rate of the CRS and the energy sharing capability of the network.

  • A correct information of customer returns ratio under e-commerce is not always shared between supply chain (SC) members. Also, it is important issue for SC members to handle the unsold products in a market. This paper discusses the impact of information sharing of customer returns ratio on an optimal sales strategy including resale of customer returns and buyback policy for a SC under e-commerce with a manufacturer and a retailer. A retailer sells a single product and resells the resalable customer returns in the same market. A manufacturer produces the products and buys back the unsold products as to their quality from the retailer. The integrated SC (ISC) determines the optimal product order quantity to maximize the expected profit of the whole SC. The decentralized SC (DSC) makes the optimal decisions for order quantity and the wholesale price of products to maximize the expected profit of each SC member. The effect of information sharing is discussed between SC members under ISC and DSC. The analysis numerically investigates how information sharing of the returns ratio affects the optimal decision and the expected profits under ISC and DSC. Besides, effect of SC coordination to encourage the shift to ISC is discussed.

  • The Internet of Things (IoT) is vulnerable to a wide range of security risks, which can be effectively mitigated by applying Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) sharing as a proactive mitigation approach. In realizing CTI sharing, it is of paramount importance to guarantee end-to-end protection of the shared information as unauthorized disclosure of CTI is disastrous for organizations using IoT. Furthermore, resource-constrained devices should be supported through lightweight operations. Unfortunately, the aforementioned are not satisfied by the Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), which state-of-the-art CTI sharing systems mainly depends on. As a promising alternative to HTTPS, Ephemeral Diffie-Hellman over COSE (EDHOC) can be considered because it meets the above requirements. However, EDHOC in its current version contains several security flaws, most notably due to the unprotected initial message. Consequently, we propose a lightweight end-to-end privacy-preserving security protocol that improves the existing draft EDHOC protocol by utilizing previously shared keys and keying materials while providing ticket-based optimized reauthentication. The proposed protocol is not only formally validated through BAN-logic and AVISPA, but also proved to fulfill essential security properties such as mutual authentication, secure key exchange, perfect forward secrecy, anonymity, confidentiality, and integrity. Also, comparing the protocol's performance to that of the EDHOC protocol reveals a substantial improvement with a single roundtrip to allow frequent CTI sharing.
