  • The presence of the intrusion is judged by intrusion detection system based on the audit log and the Performance of this system depends on how correctly and effectively it has been described about the intrusion pattern with audit log. In this paper, the relativity concerning intrusion is demonstrated among the information those are ‘System call, Network packet and Syslog’ and the related pattern of the state-transition-based method and those rule-based pattern is identified. By applying this correlation to them, the accuracy rate of detection was able to be improved. Especially, the availability of detection with correlation pattern through Covert Channel detection test has been substantiated.

  • Analyses of performance of wireless broadband communication systems employing fiber-optic link have presented. We have analyzed CNR penalty to evaluate system performance by taking into account, radio link considering rainfall attenuation, and optical link considering several carrier-to-noise ratio versus the optical modulation index.

Information leakage in bi-directional IFD communication system with simultaneously transmitted jamming sequence

  • In this paper, we describe a simultaneously transmitted jamming (ST-jamming) for bi-directional in-band full-duplex (IFD) system to improve information security at the physical layer. By exploiting ST-jamming, each legitimate user transmits data samples and jamming samples together in one orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbol according to given traffic asymmetry. Regardless of the traffic difference in both directions in IFD communication, eavesdropping of confidential information is prevented in both directions simultaneously without the loss of data rate. We first propose an encoding scheme and the corresponding decoding scheme for ST-jamming to be used by the legitimate users. In addition, we study a transceiver structure of the legitimate users including a baseband modem uniquely designed for the use of ST-jamming. The leakage of confidential information at an eavesdropper is then quantified by studying the mutual information between the confidential transmit signals and the received signals of the eavesdropper. Simulation results show that the proposed ST-jamming significantly reduces the leakage of legitimate information at the eavesdropper.

  • The world health organization classified the emerging coronavirus (known as Covid-19) as a pandemic after confirming the extent of spread and scale. As a matter of fact, outbreaks of similar scale or even worse have been witnessed throughout history. Thus, the development of prevention strategies exists to protect against such calamaties. One of the widely proven measures that controls the spread of any contagious diseases is social distancing. As a result, this paper will demonstrate the concept of an application "Be Aware" on enabling the implementation of this preventive measure. In particular "Be aware" evaluates the extent of congestion in public places using current time data. The proposed project will use Global Positioning System (GPS), and Application Programming Interface (API), to ensure information accuracy, and the API use Crowdsourcing to collect Real-Time Data (RTD) from the selected places.   • 인터넷이 일반화되면서 컴퓨터 관련 전공자가 아니더라도 시스템을 관리하고 운영하는 경우가 자주 발생하면서 크래커들의 침입에 대응이 늦거나 침입 사실조차 모르는 경우가 있어 시스템 운영에 차질이 발생하고 있다. 또한 방화벽을 설치하더라도 전문 지식이 많지 않아 투자비용에 비교해서 큰 효과를 거두지 못하는 경우도 있다. 본 논문에서는 비용 절감과 방화벽 시스템 운영시 필요한 보안정책과 보안 기술 확보를 위하여 공개 버전인 방화벽 Toolkit을 이용한 프락시 애플리케이션 방화벽 시스템 구축 방법 및 관리 방안을 제시 하였다.

  • Recently, the development of internet remote control system has been studied lively along with fast growth of internet. In this paper, we proposed the internet-based remote control and monitoring system using java platform. The apache web server that is now used worldwide was constructed for monitoring and controlling of an machine in administrator's web browser. We solved the limitation on security which is the biggest problem of internet control system due to strong security setting in web server. As a result of experiment which is used in the proposed remote internet control system, several time-delay occurred in internet. However, correct control result could be achieved without an error. And this system monitored informations of a RPM, temperature and the other condition in almost real time.

  • The authentication system of the PKI(public key infrastructure) provides the authenticity and security, accessibility, economic feasibility, and convenience to the service provider and users. Therefore the public and private companies in Korea widely use it as the authentication method of the web service. However, the safety client system is threatened by many vulnerable factors which possibly caused when using PKI-based authentication system. Thus, in this article vulnerable factors caused by using the PKI-based authentication system will be analyzed, which is expected to be the useful data afterwards for the construction of the new authentication system as well as performance improvement.

A Cost-Effective Land Surveying System for Engineering Applications

  • The field of land surveying is changing dramatically due to the way data is processed, analyzed and presented. Also, there is a growing demand for digital spatial information, coming primarily from the GIS (Geographical Information System) user community. Such a demand has created a strong development potential for a new land surveying software. An overview of the development and capabilities of a land surveying software platform based on the Windows system, SurveyingMap, is presented. Among its many features, SurveyingMap provides a lot of adaptability for networks adjustment, geodetic and plane coordinates transformation, contouring, sectioning, DTM (Digital Terrain Model) generation, and large scale mapping applications. The system output is compatible with well known computer aided drafting (CAD) /GIS packages to expand its scope of applications. SurveyingMap is also suitable for non-technical users due to the user-friendly graphic user interface. The system could be used in engineering, architecture, GIS, and academic teaching and research, among other fields. Two applications of SurveyingMap, extension of field control and large scale mapping, for the case study area are established. The results demonstrate that the system is adaptable and reasonably priced for use by college and university students.

  • Modern society is developing rapidly and technologies that provide convenience in living are developing day by day. On the other hand, the development of cyber attacks that threaten cybersecurity is developing faster, and it still adversely affects the industrial environment, and industrial damage is steadily occurring every year. Industrial security is an activity that safely protects major assets or technologies of companies and organizations from these attacks. Therefore, it is a situation that requires professional manpower for security. Currently, the manpower situation for security is staffed, but knowledge of the understanding and concept of industrial security jobs is insufficient. In other words, there is a lack of professional manpower for industrial security. It is the NCS that came out to solve this problem. NCS is the state standardized ability (knowledge, attitude, skills, etc.) necessary to perform duties in the industrial field. NCS can systematically design the curriculum using NCS as well as help in hiring personnel, and NCS can be applied to the national qualification system. However, in the field of industrial security, NCS has not yet been developed and is still having difficulties in hiring personnel and curriculum. Although the NCS system in the field of industrial security has not been developed, this paper proposes the industrial security NCS to solve the problem of hiring professionals later and to help the field of industrial security NCS to be established later.
