A fast hologram calculation approach is proposed to reduce computational load by avoiding the recalculation of redundancy information. In the proposed method, the hologram is divided into several sub-holograms that record and reconstruct different views of 3D objects. The sub-hologram is generated from its adjacent calculated sub-holograms by only adding the holograms of difference images between an adjacent pair of views. The repetitive information of two adjacent views is called angular redundancy. Therefore, avoiding the recalculation of this angular redundancy can considerably reduce the computational load. Experimental results confirm that the proposed method can reduce the computational time for the statue head, rabbits, and car to 4.73%, 6.67%, and 10.4%, respectively, for uniform intensity, and to 56.34%, 57.9%, and 66.24%, respectively, for 256 levels intensity, when compared to conventional methods.
Cooperativeness within an organization can be conceptualized as the degree of members' willingness to work with others. The simulation study investigates the relationships of cooperativeness with team performance at different levels of information redundancy by using a multi-agents model called Team-Soar. The model consists of a group of four individual Al agents situated in a network, which models a naval command and control team consisting of four members. The study used a $9{\times}3$ design in which agent cooperativeness was manipulated at nine levels by gradually replacing selfish team members with increasing numbers of neutral and cooperative members, while information redundancy was controlled at three different levels(i.e., low, medium, and high). Results of the Team-Soar simulation show that cooperation has positive impacts on team performance. Further, the results reveal that the impact of agent cooperativeness on team performance depends on the amount of information needed to be processed during the decision making process.

In this paper, a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) hybrid-automatic repeat request (HARQ) algorithm with antenna scheduling is proposed. It retransmits the packet using scheduled transmit antennas according to the state of the communication link, instead of retransmitting the packet via the same antennas. As a result, a combination of conventional HARQ systems, viz. chase combining (CC) and incremental redundancy (IR) are used to achieve better performance and lower redundancy. The proposed MIMO-OFDM HARQ system with antenna scheduling is shown to be superior to conventional MIMO HARQ systems, due to its spatial diversity gain.

A multibit DRAM BIST methodology reducing redundancy programming overhead has been proposed. It is capable of counting and locating faulty bits simultaneously with the test. If DRAM cells are composed of n blocks generally, the proposed BIST can detect the state of no error, the location of faulty bit block if there is one error and the existence of errors in more than two blocks, which are n + 2 states totally, with only n comparators and an 3 state encoder. Based on the proposed BIST methodology, the testing scheme which can detect the number and locations of faulty bits with the errors in two or more blocks, can be easily implemented. Based on performance evaluation, the test and redundancy programming time of 64MEG DRAM with 8 blocks is reduced by 1/750 times with 0.115% circuit overhead.

As infringement accidents of personal information have often occurred and estimates of damages are too large, the government introduces many certifications related with personal information management system for protecting personal information. Among them, PIMS and PIPL share many points in common, so many complaints about duplicate regulation have been suggested. This study evaluates the duplication of two certifications in order to examine redundancy between PIMS and PIPL both of which have been controversial.

Data redundancy has high impact on Wireless Sensor Network's (WSN) performance and reliability. Spatial and temporal similarity is an inherent property of sensory data. By reducing this spatio-temporal data redundancy, substantial amount of nodal energy and bandwidth can be conserved. Most of the data gathering approaches use either temporal correlation or spatial correlation to minimize data redundancy. In Collective Prediction exploiting Spatio Temporal correlation (CoPeST), we exploit both the spatial and temporal correlation between sensory data. In the proposed work, the spatial redundancy of sensor data is reduced by similarity based sub clustering, where closely correlated sensor nodes are represented by a single representative node. The temporal redundancy is reduced by model based prediction approach, where only a subset of sensor data is transmitted and the rest is predicted. The proposed work reduces substantial amount of energy expensive communication, while maintaining the data within user define error threshold. Being a distributed approach, the proposed work is highly scalable. The work achieves up to 65% data reduction in a periodical data gathering system with an error tolerance of 0.6℃ on collected data.
Generally, parallel redundancy is used to improve reliability in many systems. However, redundancy increases system cost, weight, volume, power, etc. Due to limited availability of these resources, the system designer has to maximize reliability subject to various constraints or minimize resources while satisfying the minimum requirement of system reliability. This paper presents GAs (Genetic Algorithms) to solve redundancy allocation in series-parallel systems. To apply the GAs to this problem, we propose a genetic representation, the method for initial population construction, evaluation and genetic operators. Especially, to improve the performance of GAs, we develop heuristic operators (heuristic crossover, heuristic mutation) using the reliability-resource information of the chromosome. Experiments are carried out to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm. The performance comparison between the proposed algorithm and a pervious method shows that our approach is more efficient.
In this paper, we consider a wireless multiple path network in which a transmitting node would like to send a message to the receiving node with a certain probability of success. These two nodes are separated by N erasure paths, and we devise two algorithms to determine minimum redundancy and optimal symbol allocation for this setup. We discuss the case with N = 3 and then extend the case to an arbitrary number of paths. One of the algorithms minimum redundancy algorithm in exponential time is shown to be optimal in several cases, but has exponential running time. The other algorithm, minimum redundancy algorithm in polynomial time, is sub-optimal but has polynomial worstcase running time. These algorithms are based off the theory of maximum-distance separable codes. We apply the MRAET algorithm on maximum-distance separable, Luby transform, and Raptor codes and compare their performance.
This paper modelled the fail-safe control logic through the frequency coding input and designed the 3-out of-6 self checker using the error detect coding method of information redundancy. In addition, this paper also peformed the reliability parallel numeric analysis regarding single module between fail-safe. control logic module and TMR(Triple Modular Redundancy), therefore, we achieved the result that the fail-safe control logic increases a functional reliability because of decreasing system waste cost and functional overhead rather than the existing hardware redundancy method.
Major purpose of this study is to explore effect of presentation modalities of Television and print on children's and adult's recall. So An experiment was conducted by comparing children's and adults' recall of information stories presented in three different modalities: "television moving Image1(auditory-visual redundancy)", "television moving Image2(auditory-visual redundancy)" and "print text". Results indicated that children remembered more infornation from the television moving Image than from print versions regardless of auditory-visual redundancy. But for the adults advantage of television was only found for information that had been accompanied by redundant pictures in television moving Image, providing support for the dual-coding hypothesis.
