  • Increasingly the frequency of use of mathematical modeling and computer simulation, in order to solve complex engineering problems in the field of Applied Science, the researchers need a simulation framework that can make their simulation-based research easier and more convenient. computer simulation framework is composed of various components such as preprocessor, solver, visualization program, computational resources and job scheduler. However until now, no standardized schema for the components of the simulation framework exist, so it is difficult to config that make a general-purpose simulation framework. In other words, most of the existing simulation framework is a structure that provides only limited functionality is dependent on the particular solver code. In this paper, we designed the meta-information schema that can be contained of a various solver code to be used for the simulation framework and we implemented the Web-based simulation environment using our meta-information schema.

  • Information system audit, which provides effective diagnosis and inspection of IT governance, is applied to all aspects from planning to development and operation. However, there is a difficulty in carrying out the audit because the system for the specialized university IT project is not developed. Therefore, it is necessary to set the internal system as the audit-based application framework in order to apply it to university IT governance. In this paper, we propose a audit-based application framework of university information system developed for university. The framework has a difference from the existing audit system. By using this framework, it is possible to present a standard for the university IT project and easily approach and use it in the field. And it can be used for direct audit through this framework in the level of the auditor as well as the HQ admin. The framework categorizes the audit into three major dimensions and suggests a method that can be applied to the university information system audit through the UAFP(University Audit Framework Process) and quality assurance.

  • The facility area occupies approximately 50% of the topographic landmarks playing an important role in the utilization of geographical information in various fields, and requires more up-to-date information than the framework data of other areas. However, the expression mode in the 1:5000 digital map, which is a primitive data used for the preparation of framework data in the facility area, limits the description of the information on buildings, and its revision/renewal term of 5 years makes it far from up-to-date or accurate. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the problems and quality deteriorating factors that may occur in establishing the framework data on the basis of existing establishment process of them in the facility area, and improve the qualify of the framework data in facility area by upgrading the methods of quality improvement. Expanding the information on attributes and improving the accuracy of locations were proposed as ways to increase the degree of utilization of the framework data in the facility area. And as the methods of expanding the information on attributes, it was proposed to improve the accuracy of the information on attributes for the framework data in the facility area using the information on attributes in the 1:1000 scale maps, and also to diversify the information on attributes in connection with the LMIS and AIS. To improve the accuracy of the locations, analyses were made with the potential problems that may occur in the establishment process through an experiment on the framework data in the facility area based on 1:1,000 digital map, and the results were used to present an improved, optimum process.

  • Research and development projects in Research and development projects in Korea are ineffectively conducted due to the lack of a system for effectively planning, conducting and disseminating the result of the research projects. In this study, we have designed a framework for system that can be used in the planning and managing stage of National R & D information to guarantee standardization and extendability of the information. A national R & D technology information portal system for managing the distributed national R & D information on a single database is suggested based on this framework for the construction of a more effective information support system and the dissemination of national R & D information between researchers.

  • This paper proposes security architecture, security audit framework, and audit check item. These are based on the security requirement that has been researched in the information system audit. The proposed information security architecture is built in a way that it could defend a cyber attack. According to its life cycle, it considers a security service and security control that is required by the information system. It is mapped in a way that it can control the security technology and security environment. As a result, an audit framework of the information system is presented based on the security requirement and security architecture. The standard checkpoints of security audit are of the highest level. It was applied to the system introduction for the next generation of D stock and D life insurance company. Also, it was applied to the human resources information system of K institution and was verified. Before applying to institutions, system developers and administrators were educated about their awareness about security so that they can follow guidelines of a developer security. As a result, the systemic security problems were decreased by more than eighty percent.

  • We introduced a framework of information systems audit methodology and applied to IS projects based on RFID/USN in six public organizations in South Korea. An analysis of five IS implementation projects shows the iterative technical specific risks are disclosed. The key 14 risk factors categorized into 4 classifications (Project Management, application, database, system architecture) which are based on the established IT audit framework in order to extend to the technology (RFID/USN) specific framework and apply to the other case as well. The implications of these findings for audit research and practice are discussed.

  • This study aims at developing a policy framework for a digital curation based on the access, co-ownership, reuse, and long-term preservation of digital information resources. To accomplish this, our study analysed a similar policy and support services of a main UK research institution and the DCC. It selected the main stages of the DCC lifecycle and developed a policy framework accordingly. Such a framework could serve as the basis for both state and individual institutions, and for developing standards and guidelines for a digital curation of digital information resources.

  • Although the strategies and experiences of GIS leading countries are considered for the implementation of NGIS-Development in Korea, the western european nations cases are not analysed. Based on this study focused on German approaches to establish and implement the construction of national geospatial data framework. The goals, construction strategies and contexts of german national framework data, it called authoritative topographic-cartographic information system(ATKIS) in germany, are presented in detail. As a result, some lessons are suggested that can be learned by german approaches. Because we are now standing on the phase of "A Second Master Plan for National Geographic Information System", the german approach can be very for the development of the national framework database in Korea.

  • Purpose This study aims to propose a framework for safety in domestic walking tourism, which defines the scope and type of safety information for tourists. Also, the framework provides a systematic classification for safety information in walking tourism. As the importance of safety in walking tourism due to the frequent occurrence of crimes and unexpected accidents increases, it is necessary to provide tourists with safety information on walking courses rapidly and systematically. However, most administrators (e.g., local governments) have mainly focused on providing tour information on walking courses through Internet websites or mobile apps, overlooking the safety issue. Besides, there is a lack of understanding of safety not only in walking tourism but also in the whole tourism industry. Design/methodology/approach This study proposes the framework that covers all possible safety-related information in walking tourism. Furthermore, to validate its availability, this study analyzes eight major platforms which offer tour information to tourists by applying the framework. Findings The major findings of this study are as follows. First, all platforms considered in this study do not provide any information on tourism safety, focusing on the provision of tour information. Second, three platforms currently provide an SOS function which means post-safety information. That is, no safety information is provided to prevent safety issues in advance. Finally, despite the increase of social concerns, all platforms do not provide safety information on public order and diseases in the social disaster classification as well as environmental pollution in the natural disaster classification. The details and implications of the findings are presented.
