  • Objectives: This pilot study was carried out with the purpose of suggesting a methodology on mapping and registering Korean medicinal material concepts at 2011AB of the UMLS. Methods: 411 medicinal material concepts were mapped to biomedical terminology within the metathesaurus of the UMLS. Based on the forms of listing on the UMLS and thesauri information, the medicinal material concepts were classified into three groups and mapped. Results: 76 concepts in Group 1 which English CUIs have Chinese AUIs were mapped considering scientific names and Chinese strings. 259 concepts in Group 2 that have CUIs in the form of 'botanical name/Chinese pinyin' were mapped with the information of Korean and Chinese Pharmacopoeias. Groups 3, 76 concepts of English names in the Korean Pharmacopoeia are matched considering their botanic names and used parts. Conclusion: This study suggested a methodology to map Korean medicinal material concepts to international standard terminology, which will help ensure interoperability and compatibility between traditional medicine terminology and the UMLS.

  • With the advanced learning and the diversity of topics, researchers on each area keenly feel the need of precise and a quick discovery of required information at any time. This study presents a way of constructing the automatic mapping system that can compare and analyze duplicated data and that describes the result by building an effective reference extraction method and another way of correcting the wrong form of used Chinese characters with Traditional Korean Medicine dictionary. With this innovation, data duplication on references and Chinese characters errors can be fixed. Under the situation that a number of references of newly published papers that can continuously be extracted.

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented an integrated search and collaboration system. Users can search the traditional korean medicine knowledge in our system, which consists of medicinal materials, formulas, diseases, terminology, and clinical information. In general, the existing information systems providing the korean medicine knowledge do not provide the update function. Thus, it can be a problem if there are incomplete information. In order to solve this problem, our system implements the functions that users can work together to improve the knowledge. Therefore, wrong information can be updated easily so that flexible management about the korean medicine information is possible.

  • We have demonstrated the optimization of white organic light-emitting diodes with two separated emissive layers using a blue fluorescent and a red phosphorescent dopant. The maximum luminous efficiency of the devices showed 7.93, 9.70, 11.8, and 14.3 cd/A. The $CIE_{xy}$ coordinates also showed (x = 0.33, y = 0.36), (x = 0.33, y = 0.35), (x =0.31, y = 0.35), and (x = 0.29, y = 0.36) at 6V, respectively.

  • Objective This is a previous study for including traditional Korean medical terms into the UMLS(The Unified Medical Language System) and achieving the interoperability between various medical systems. Method First, the traditional medical terms were divided into 4 categories : basic theory, acupuncture, herb and formulae. And then, searching these terms through metathesaurus in UMLSKS(UMLS Knowledge Source Server), terminology information was investigated and analyzed. Results In the case of TM title, traditional Korean medicine was categorized as different semantic type from Traditional medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine and Kampo medicine. Acupuncture points were described only as abbreviation and herbs were conceptualized inconsistently, as some belonged to scientific name and some belonged to Chinese pronunciation. Formulaes are described as Chinese, Japanese and Korean pronunciations. Conclusions More research is needed on diagnosis/disease terms and semantic types for the unique concepts in traditional Korean medicine in order to including the international standard.

  • White polymeric light-emitting devices (WPLEDs) have been fabricated from polyfluorene-based (PFO) blue and MEH-PPV polymer blending systems. A device structure of ITO / PEDOT:PSS / Blending polymer / Blue polymer / LiF / Al was employed. This structure of double emission layers showed significant improvement of white color shift phenomenon. A current efficiency of 4.67 cd/A (3,900 $cd/m^{2}$, 6.4 V) and a brightness value of 17,600 $cd/m^{2}$ at 9.4 V with (0.34, 0.35) CIE coordinates at 5 V and (0.29, 0.29) at 9 V were achieved achieved.

  • CenterNet, a novel object detection algorithm without anchor based on key points, regards the object as a single center point for prediction and directly regresses the object's height and width. However, because the objects have different sizes, directly regressing their height and width will make the model difficult to converge and lose the intrinsic relationship between object's width and height, thereby reducing the stability of the model and the consistency of prediction accuracy. For this problem, we proposed an algorithm based on the regression of the diagonal half-length and the center angle, which significantly compresses the solution space of the regression components and enhances the intrinsic relationship between the decoded components. First, encode the object's width and height into the diagonal half-length and the center angle, where the center angle is the angle between the diagonal and the vertical centreline. Secondly, the predicted diagonal half-length and center angle are decoded into two length components. Finally, the position of the object bounding box can be accurately obtained by combining the corresponding center point coordinates. Experiments show that, when using CenterNet as the improved baseline and resnet50 as the Backbone, the improved model achieved 81.6% and 79.7% mAP on the VOC 2007 and 2012 test sets, respectively. When using Hourglass-104 as the Backbone, the improved model achieved 43.3% mAP on the COCO 2017 test sets. Compared with CenterNet, the improved model has a faster convergence rate and significantly improved the stability and prediction accuracy.
