The purpose of this study is to construct the ACD model for the block trading volume duration. The ACD model based on the block trading volume duration is referred to as Volume ACD (VACD) in this study. By integrating with GARCH-type models, the VACD based GARCH type models, which include VACD-GARCH, VACD-IGARCH and VACD-FIGARCH models, are set up. This study selects Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) Inc., offering the America Depository Receipt (ADR) in NYSE, to investigate the block trading volume duration in Taiwanese equity market. The empirical results indicate that the long memory in volume duration series increases dependence at level of volatility clustering by VACD (2,1)-FIGARCH (3,d,1) model. Moreover, the VACD (2,1)-IGARCH (1,1) exhibits relatively better performance of prediction on capturing block trading volume duration. This volatility model is more appropriate in this study to portray the change of the CHT Inc. prices and provides more information about the volatility process for investment strategy, which can be a reference indicator of financial asset pricing, hedging strategy and risk management.

The proliferation of wireless local area networks (WLANs) offering high data rate in hot spot area have spurred the demand for possible WLANs and third-generation (3G) cellular network integration solutions as the initiative step towards 4G systems. This paper provides a novel architecture for seamless location-aware integration of WLANs into 3G cellular networks and also an analysis for the efficient handover techniques. We introduce location as a key context in secure roaming mechanism for context-aware interworking in 4G systems. The fast secure roaming with location-aware authentication is implemented at an entity called location-aware service (LAS) broker that utilizes the concepts of direction of user and pre-warming zone. The location-ware interworking architecture supports seamless roaming services among heterogeneous wireless networks including WLANs, wireless metropolitan area networks (WMANs), and 3G cellular networks. This paper also includes a description of procedures needed to implement efficient mobility and location management. We show how the LAS broker with pre-warming and context transfer can obtain significant lower latency in the vertical handover.

The Korean venture industry showed a rapid growth due to various government incentive measures, development in information technology, and explosive growth of the KOSDAQ market. Recently, however, the Korean venture industry has revealed numerous side effects, which seemed to be coming from excessively aggressive government involvement in the industry, and fallen into a deep depression. This phenomenon may imply that the Korean venture industry has been established by the government policy rather than based on the venture capital market, whereas the venture industry in advanced nations has grown up autogenously based on it. This paper analyzes the Korean venture capital market and suggests policy recommendations to revitalize the domestic venture capital market. They include facilitating the supply of funds through limited partnerships and overseas venture capital, extending the direct equity investment, and actively promoting the KOSDAQ market.

Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the current situation of Internet health counseling in Korean Medicine by analyzing the contents and pattern of the questions and answers in NAVER Jisik-iN. Methods : 1,121 questions answered by Korean Medicine doctors in NAVER Jisik-iN from January 2012 to June 2012 were extracted and analyzed. The contents and pattern of the questions and answers were classified. Then statistical analysis was performed and the research findings were compared with other studies. Results : Korean Medicine (KM) accounted for 1.73 percent of health counseling in NAVER Jisik-iN. Analyzing the questions and answers of KM counseling, questions about symptoms and answers providing medical knowledge were most common. The most frequently asked symptom was digestive disorder. Applying to Suchman's "Stage of Illness and Medical Care" model, 'the symptom-experience' stage took the first place. Conclusions : KM counseling in NAVER Jisik-iN has served as guidance for potential Korean Medicine consumers by providing medical knowledge about symptoms. For more effective guidance there should be a systematic Internet counseling system offering reliable information by KM doctors to meet the needs of medical consumers.

The purpose of this study is to provide a sensor based service model for traffic facilities in u-City through analysing the present condition of urban infrastructure, especially traffic facilities management. In order to achieve this purpose, we did a comparative analysis of internal and external situation of ITS(Intelligent Transport System) and classified service for traffic facilities to 3 categories, namely traffic flow management, traffic information offering, formation of road structure. Also, we examined technological trend of USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network). Through this process, we present a sensor based service model of traffic facilities for building sustainable road environment.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to determine the effects of genetically modified (GM) food promotion and education through the blog. Methods: Education program for consumer-oriented GM foods by the blog was developed and survey was performed by the visitors for totals of twelve weeks. The blog was formed by information (definition, mark etc.) offering style and named as "Correct knowing of genetically modified organisms (GMO)." Event was held to enhance the promotion of the blog from the week 9 to week 12. Results: Visitors of the final week increased 4 times, as compared to those of the starting the event week 9. Most of the 138 consumers (94.5%) did not have prior GMO education experience. The 97 consumers aged 20 years old showed significantly the highest ratios in the experience of blog or website (p<0.01). Comparing before and after the blog education, notification on GM foods and willingness to buy GMO products, the benefit of GMO, willingness to check GMO mark when buying GMO products showed positive change of GM foods (p<0.05). Conclusion: Over 80% answered that the blog helped to understand the GM foods. Thus, we conclude using blog is effective way of GM food promotion and education and continuous efforts are needed to maintain an active blog for the consumer's rights of knowledge about GM foods.

The purpose of this study is to examine the fashion lifestyle variable of global consumers and to compare among US, Chinese and EU consumers. The data were collected in US(n=749), China(n=702) and EU(n=1083) from 2008 to 2010. For analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, K-means cluster analysis and chi-square analysis of SPSS 18.0 are used. The research results are as follow: First, it is shown that significant lifestyle factors of global fashion consumers are "adventure seeking", "fashion-oriented", "conspicuous consumption", "leadership", "brand-oriented", and "DIY". As a result of the cluster analysis of lifestyle types, four cross-national market segments are identified. These segments can be labeled as follows: "conservative fashion-oriented group", "passive consumer group", "neutral consumer group", "active fashion-oriented group". Second, findings also reveal that fashion lifestyle segments had meaningful differences between nationality and by year. Third, the US consumers tended to have conservative fashion-oriented lifestyle in 2008, however global consumers were changed to have active fashion lifestyle in 2010. This research will be useful to global brands in planning marketing strategies by offering specific information for global consumer fashion lifestyle.

This study developed Interactive Virtual Model House (IVMH) to provide the cyber model house, homepage of apartment complex, and smart home, which have been indicated as an alternative for improving the residential environments, as a total system. For this cause, the concept of IVMH was established and the apartment and 3-types ways used in the existing system were studied. Based on the organized data, the elements of IVMH by technology and environment were examined, and the model of IVMH was completed. IVMH is a model of an integrated system that supports offering information in apartments using digital technology, supporting conveniences, communication and reflection of opinion. In addition, it will be provided with applicable contents from now on. For those reasons, it is expected to be effective in helping improve habitability.

In era of lowbirth, aging population, low growth and social polarization, the effective welfare delivery systems are taking on added significance than past years. Public housing welfare resources, such as public rental housing, housing voucher, affordable housing loan, are more diversified and expanded. These programs could work effectively by the comprehensive interlink and community based delivery system. From the standpoint of recipients, how effectively the substantial benefits of welfare resources being delivered to each individual is more important than how much welfare resources being produced totally. This study aimed to explore the reform of public housing welfare delivery system. For this purpose, diagnosed the current states and key issues related to public delivery system, and analyzed what kinds of housing welfare services should be strengthened, and finally suggested the collaboration among the public sectors (local government, LH, HUG, HF etc.) and the partnership with non-profit organizations. Main research implications are as follows. The main housing welfare services which could be categorized as the housing welfare center's role are advice & information offering, several public resources interlink and accessibility improvement, community based network construction, etc. And the most important key for successful delivery system reorganization is the collaborative operation of the public sectors and local government, non-profit organizations.

Purpose - New technologies allow service providers to integrate all the customer information within and between contact channels so that they can offer individualized services. The availability of new mobile devices enables retailers to interact with customers through countless channels (Rigby, 2011). The objective of this research is to examine customers' attitudes toward O2O (on-line to off-line) services and their intention to use based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Research design, data, and methodology - Utilizing the TAM model, the mediating effect of the users' attitudes toward O2O services on the relationship among perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived risks and intention to use are to be investigated. Results - The result shows that the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived risks have a significant effect on customers' attitudes toward O2O services. It is also revealed that the attitude toward O2O services has a mediating effect among perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived risks and intention to use. Conclusions - The boundary between on-line and off-line is eroding and various services based on the O2O platform are growing. The results of this study and managerial implications can be applied to O2O platform operators or enterprises planning to sharp on their competitiveness edge through offering variations of service channels.
