Domain transfer is a widely recognized problem for machine learning algorithms because models built upon one data domain generally do not perform well in another data domain. This is especially a challenge for tasks such as opinion classification, which often has to deal with insufficient quantities of labeled data. This study investigates the feasibility of self-training in dealing with the domain transfer problem in opinion classification via leveraging labeled data in non-target data domain(s) and unlabeled data in the target-domain. Specifically, self-training is evaluated for effectiveness in sparse data situations and feasibility for domain adaptation in opinion classification. Three types of Web content are tested: edited news articles, semi-structured movie reviews, and the informal and unstructured content of the blogosphere. Findings of this study suggest that, when there are limited labeled data, self-training is a promising approach for opinion classification, although the contributions vary across data domains. Significant improvement was demonstrated for the most challenging data domain-the blogosphere-when a domain transfer-based self-training strategy was implemented.

상담 효과를 극대화할 수 있는 면대면 상담은 교수와 학생의 상담 시간과 장소를 일치시켜야 하는 번거로움이 있지만 자동화된 상담 예약 시스템을 통해 극복할 수 있다. 이에 더해, 시스템이 프로세스와 데이터 복잡성을 대폭 감소시킬 수 있는 인터페이스를 제공한다면 면대면 상담을 더욱 효과적으로 지원할 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 RIA(Rich Internet Application) 기술을 적용한 교수-학생 상담 예약 시스템을 제안하고, 적용된 리치 클라이언트, 서버, 개발 툴 기술에 대해 알아본다. 제안한 시스템에서 사용자는 동적이고 풍부한 상호작용을 가능하게 하는 리치 클라이언트를 통해 상담 예약 시스템에 접속하여 원스크린 (OneScreen) 시스템으로 상담 예약을 할 수 있기 때문에 프로세스와 데이터 복잡성으로부터 벗어날 수 있다. 또한, 개발자는 Flex와 ColdFusion서버 기술과 FlexBuilder 개발 툴을 이용해 마르게 웹 어플리케이션을 개발할 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 향후 RIA 구현 기술은 풍부한 상호작용을 요구하는 웹 어플리케이션 개발에 널리 적용될 것으로 기대된다.

Information service for the aged is a new challenge for public libraries in Korea. To develop an internet-based information service at public library perspectives, information sources, information need, and information seeking and using behavior are investigated. Interview survey is performed to 1060 adults aged 60 and over. Finding revealed that the respondents led to few channels to information except for mass media and informal oral communication. It ascertain ways in which 23% of the respondents currently use internet, and identify barriers of nonusers. The information need of the elderly are diverse, but health/medicine, news, hobbies, religion, leisure/travel are most identified need in descending order. Based on data analysis and previous research results, a cooperative service model consisting of information contents, online reference, interface design, and education is developed. Finally problems and suggestions for future improvement are discussed.

This study assessed citation analysis results in light of their usefulness for national scientific and technical information (STI) policy formulation and review in Korea. using electrical and electronics engineering field as a case. After brief summary of citation analysis results was presented. current Korean STI policy was reviewed. which aims at establishing national STI sharing system by constructing many STI databases and information networks. Citation analysis results were discussed in light of their significance for Korean databases and information network construction and for use of informal networks such as E-Mail and invisible colleges. The problem of access to current information was also reviewed. Some recommendations were made to policy makers. which include creation of a centralized national STI center: development of guidelines for effective utilization of STI networks and STI; and. standardization of information processing technology and support for the automation of information centers and libraries. Based on the literature review. the best possible way of presenting recommendations to policy makers was examined. It was concluded that citation analysis could be a useful methodology for STI policy formulation and review when reliability and validity of the study is assured and the samples well represent the population of scientists and engineers. Finally recommendations for further research were offered.

공공 부문이나 대기업에서 운영하는 웹 사이트의 규모가 커지면서 분야별로 사이트가 나누어지게 되는데, 사이트를 이동할 때 마다 로그인을 다시 해야 하는 불편이 있다. 따라서 최근 이용자들의 불편을 줄이기 위하여 SSO (Single Sing-On) 통합인증 체제를 도입하는 사례가 늘고 있다. 통합 인증 시스템을 구축하면서 다수 웹 사이트의 회원을 통합하고 이에 대한 회원 정보 DB를 구축하여야 하는데, 빠른 인증서비스를 위해서 LDAP(Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)를 사용하는 것이 일반적이다. 이때 회원정보 DB와 LDAP의 정보에 대한 동기화 문제와 웹 사이트를 통한 회원가입과 동시에 적용되어야 하는 요구사항을 만족시키기 위해 본 논문에서는 회원 정보 DB와 LDAP의 정보 사이의 동기화 방법을 제안하고 구현하여 그 성능을 분석하였다.

Three occupational safety and health (OSH) activities, one international and two national workshops, were documented as part of OSH activities conducted under the International Labor Organization/Korea Partnership Program in the year 2011-2012. This study aimed to provide information on what the three OSH activities were implemented and how they contributed to the improvement of OSH in Asian countries. The international workshop was useful for the participants to understand a variety of information on OSH as well as participatory action-oriented training (PAOT) approaches at the regional and global levels. The two national workshops were practical for participants to strengthen their knowledge and skills on the PAOT at the enterprise and national levels. The study shows that the three OSH activities contributed to the understanding of the participants on OSH and PAOT, and that the activities promoted the improvement of OSH across countries in Asia.

현대 사회에서 SNS는 개인의 의견을 표출하는 수단으로 널리 활용되고 있다. 스마트기기의 보급은 SNS를 새로운 교육 환경으로 만들어주고 있고, 학습자는 SNS의 특성을 활용하여 여러 가지 생산적인 활동을 할 수 있다. SNS의 특성은 무형식 학습에 적합하지만 정규 교육에서도 학습자에 맞게 학습 형태를 구성한다면 학습에 유용하게 활용할 수 있다. 본 연구는 학습자의 지적수준과 SNS 활용 능력에 따라 정규 교육에서 SNS를 활용하는 교육 모델을 제시하고자 한다.

In organizations, evaluating the competency of individuals through the position or status has many limitations. To overcome these limitations, this study analyzes the organization's informal network using social network analysis. We measured out-degree centrality and in-degree centrality by making use of social network analysis technique. Out-degree centrality is interpreted as 'madangbal' in that actors actively help other people, while in-degree centrality is interpreted as 'prestige' in that other people want to have a relationship with. This research examines the effects of individual's 'prestige' and 'madangbal' in the instrumental network and communication network on IT competency. We carried out empirical analysis using social network data that were collected from undergraduate students. The result reveals that relationship between IT competency and centrality in the instrumental network is statistically significant, while relationship between IT competency and centrality in the communication network does not show significant results.

According to Jeong Ho-seong (1999), Koreans use an average of only 20% of the 508,771 entries of the Korean standard unabridged dictionary. To establish MRD for natural language processing, it is necessary to select Korean lexical units that are used frequently and are considered as basic words. In this study, this selection process is done semi-automatically using the KAIST large corpus. Among about 220,000 morphemes extracted from the corpus of 40,000,000 eojeols, 50,637 morphemes (54,797 senses) are selected. In addition, the coverage of these morphemes in various texts is examined with two sub-corpora of different styles. The total coverage is 91.21 % in formal style and 93.24% in informal style. The coverage of 6,130 first degree morphemes is 73.64% and 81.45%, respectively.
