The aim of this work is to study the discreteness of the spectrum of the Schrödinger operator on infinite quantum graphs in a magnetic field. The problem was solved on a set of quantum graphs of a special kind.
In this paper we investigate weak convergence of the intergral processes whose index set is the non-compact infinite time interval. Our first goal is to develop the empirical central limit theorem as random elements of [0, .infty.) for an integral process which is constructed from iid variables. In developing the weak convergence as random elements of D[0, .infty.), we will use a result of Ossiander(4) whose proof heavily depends on the total boundedness of the index set. Our next goal is to establish the empirical central limit theorem for the Kaplan-Meier integral process as random elements of D[0, .infty.). In achieving the the goal, we will use the above iid result, a representation of State(6) on the Kaplan-Meier integral, and a lemma on the uniform order of convergence. The first result, in some sense, generalizes the result of empirical central limit therem of Pollard(5) where the process is regarded as random elements of D[-.infty., .infty.] and the sample paths of limiting Gaussian process may jump. The second result generalizes the first result to random censorship model. The later also generalizes one dimensional central limit theorem of Stute(6) to a process version. These results may be used in the nonparametric statistical inference.
Inventive mathematical thinking, original mathematical problem solving ability, mathematical invention and so on are core concepts, which must be emphasized in all branches of mathematical education. In particular, Polya(1981) insisted that inventive thinking must be emphasized in a suitable level of university mathematical courses. In this paper, the author considered two cases of inventive problem solving ability shown by his many students via real analysis courses. The first case is about the proof of the problem "what is the derived set of the integers Z?" Nearly all books on mathematical analysis sent the question without the proof but some books said that the answer is "empty". Only one book written by Noh, Y. S.(2006) showed the proof by using the definition of accumulation points. But the proof process has some mistakes. But our student Kang, D. S. showed the perfect proof by using The Completeness Axiom, which is very useful in mathematical analysis. The second case is to show the infinite countability of NxN, which is shown by informal proof in many mathematical analysis books with formal proofs. Some students who argued the informal proof as an unreasonable proof were asked to join with us in finding the one-to-one correspondences between NxN and N. Many students worked hard and find two singled-valued mappings and one set-valued mapping covering eight diagrams in the paper. The problems are not easy and the proofs are a little complicated. All the proofs shown in this paper are original and right, so the proofs are deserving of inventive mathematical thoughts, original mathematical problem solving abilities and mathematical inventions. From the inventive proofs of his students, the author confirmed that any students can develope their mathematical abilities by their professors' encouragements.
Infinite failure NHPP models for a record value satisfies mode proposed in the literature exhibit either monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing failure occurrence rates per fault. In this paper, propose comparative study of software reliability model using Erlang distribution, Rayleigh and Gumbel distribution. Equations to estimate the parameters using maximum likelihood estimation of infinite failure NHPP model based on failure data collected in the form of interfailure times are developed. For the sake of proposing distribution, we used to the special pattern. Analysis of failure data set using arithmetic and Laplace trend tests, goodness-of-fit test, bias tests is presented.
In this paper, we use measure theory for considering asymptotically stable of an autonomous system [1] of first order nonlinear ordinary differential equations(ODE's). First, we define a nonlinear infinite-horizon optimal control problem related to the ODE. Then, by a suitable change of variable, we transform the problem to a finite-horizon nonlinear optimal control problem. Then, the problem is modified into one consisting of the minimization of a linear functional over a set of positive Radon measures. The optimal measure is approximated by a finite combination of atomic measures and the problem converted to a finite-dimensional linear programming problem. The solution to this linear programming problem is used to find a piecewise-constant control, and by using the approximated control signals, we obtain the approximate trajectories and the error functional related to it. Finally the approximated trajectories and error functional is used to for considering asymptotically stable of the original problem.
In this paper we shall study moving boundary problems, and we introduce an approach for solving a wide range of them by using calculus of variations and optimization. First, we transform the problem equivalently into an optimal control problem by defining an objective function and artificial control functions. By using measure theory, the new problem is modified into one consisting of the minimization of a linear functional over a set of Radon measures; then we obtain an optimal measure which is then approximated by a finite combination of atomic measures and the problem converted to an infinite-dimensional linear programming. We approximate the infinite linear programming to a finite-dimensional linear programming. Then by using the solution of the latter problem we obtain an approximate solution for moving boundary function on specific time. Furthermore, we show the path of moving boundary from initial state to final state.

To cope with quest to improve the fuel economy and vehicle performance, Continuously Variable Transmission with Changing the speed ratio between minimum and maximum ratio by infinite step, is more efficient than conventional multi-ratio transmission. In this paper, to investigate a specific CVT shift ratio diagram and CVT shift characteristics, CVT vehicle was tested on the proving ground and chassis dynamometer. The test results are as follows; CVT can obtain the excellent vehicle performance and fuel economy changing the shift ratio by infinite step, without rapid change of engine revolution and driving force. And CVT can set up a special shift range that obtains not only the engine brake effect but also the maximum speed driving.
The problem of scalar wave scattering by a sphere on or near a planar substrate is analytically solved. The solution is a set of wave functions coming in the form of infinite series of spherical and plane waves. In air, the incident plane wave is either scattered by the sphere or reflected from the substrate. A part of these scattered or reflected waves propagate to the other object where it is reflected and scattered again. Such processes of scattering and reflection repeat in turn indefinitely to generate multiply scattered waves, which are represented in the corresponding terms in the infinite series. The term in the series can be arranged in a recognizable manner to explicitly reveal the involved process and the multiplicity of scattering.

In this work, a new method of design adaptive controllers for SISO systems based on multiple models and switching is presented. The controller selects the model from a given set, according to a switching rule based on output prediction errors. The goal is to design, at each sample instant, a predictive control law that ensures the robust stability of the closed-loop system and achieves the best performance for the current operating point. At each sample the proposed control scheme identifies a set of linear models that best characterizes the dynamics of the current operating region. Then, it carries out an automatic reconfiguration of the controller to achieve the best possible performance whilst providing a guarantee of robust closed-loop stability. The results are illustrated by simulations a nonlinear continuous and stirred tank reactor.
It is well known that every $x{\in}(0,1]$ can be expanded to an infinite $L{\ddot{u}}roth$ series with the form of $$x={\frac{1}{d_1(x)}}+{\cdots}+{\frac{1}{d_1(x)(d_1(x)-1){\cdots}d_{n-1}(x)(d_{n-1}(x)-1)d_n(x)}}+{{\cdots}}$$, where $d_n(x){\geq}2$ for all $n{\geq}1$. In this paper, the set of points with some restrictions on the digits in $L{\ddot{u}}roth$ series expansions are considered. Namely, the Hausdorff dimension of following the set $$F_{\phi}=\{x{\in}(0,1]\;:\;d_n(x){\geq}{\phi}(n),\;i.o.n}$$ is determined, where ${\phi}$ is an integer-valued function defined on ${\mathbb{N}}$, and ${\phi}(n){\rightarrow}{\infty}$ as $n{\rightarrow}{\infty}$.
