FTA를 이용한 볼트 유도가열시스템의 고장 및 전기화재 분석 (Analysis of Failure and Electrical Fire for Bolt Induction Heating System Using FTA)

  • This paper presents a safety assessment method for FTA-based induction heating systems; the failures and causes of electrical fire are first analyzed for each part and module qualitatively, and methods to manage high probabilities of failure and electrical fire are considered, thereby improving the reliability of the induction heating system. The cumulative importance value (ACC) of the minimal cut set is drawn by setting failure as the top event, and STACK and SMPS are observed to account for about 70% of the induction heating system failures. Thus, intensively managing the basic events contained in the minimal cut set of failures for STACK and SMPS is expected to provide effective and stable operation of the induction heating system. When electrical fire is set as the top event, the STACK percentage is 90%. Accordingly, the current IGBT is changed to a FET to increase the applied voltage and prevent induction heating system failure, and a heat sink plane is installed to prevent FET heating caused by switching, thereby preventing an electrical fire. By classifying the parts and modules of the induction heating system in detail and by applying FTA based on actual failure rates and relevant data, more practical and reasonable results may be expected. Hence, continuous research must be conducted to ensure safety when using induction heating systems.

  • Semi-solid forging is a compound forging technology to deventional forging process. Among several steps of semi-solid forging process, the heating step of a billet prior to semi-solid forging step is necessarily required to obtain globular microstructure. For the forming operation to work properly, it is also important to heat the billet uniformly for the uniformity of solid-liquid distribution. To satisfy these requirements, induction heating has been generally used for a long time. This paper presents the method to find heating condition and the temperature distribution inside of a billet with a induction heating apparatus by comparing the computer simulation with experiment for aluminum alloys Al2024 and A356.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the optimal induction heating conditions of various preform types used for TR forging. The finite element model coupled electro-magnetic and transient heat transfer was employed to evaluate the distribution of temperature at the billet. Power control method was applied to control temperature of preform in induction heating because TR forging is not a continuous process. Power schedule that consists of heating and holding stage was suggested. In heating stage, power is inversely proportional to diameter of preform but the time of heating stage is directly proportional to the diameter of preform. But, in holding stage, the required power for thermal equilibrium per unit volume of the billet decreases with an increase in a diameter of billet due to the increase of efficiency.

다분할 해석법에 의한 장형코일의 곡가공 연구 (A Study of Bending Using Long Type Coil by Discrete Method)

  • The induction heating is more efficient for a plate bending because of its easy operation and control of working parameters, compared with the heating by a gas torch. The existing axis symmetric analysis method could neither handle initial curved plates nor be used in the optimization of coil shapes because of its limit of an axis symmetric coil shape. But the proposed method using some discrete part models and analysis processes could overcome these difficulties and show more accurate results in temperatures and deflections of flat or curved plates with initial curvature than those in the existing axis symmetric analysis method. This method is composed of the multi-disciplinary analyses such as an electro magnetic analysis, a heat transfer analysis and a deformation analysis based on inherent strain approach per each step. Traditionally, the coil shape in the induction heating is circular shape and it needs the moving process along heating lines. To overcome this, the 'Long Type Coil' with some linear parallel coils was proposed. It did not need the moving process along heating lines and reduced the heating process time. The results of experiments were compared with those of the simulation.

  • 유도가열 기술은 담금질, 단조를 위한 예열, 용융 그리고 요리 등과 같은 산업 전반에 걸쳐서 아주 폭넓게 사용되는 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 IH-JAR의 효과적인 설계를 위하여 자계 및 열 해석을 하였다. IH-lAR의 내부자계는 3차원 축대칭 유한요소법을 사용하여 해석하였으며, 열원은 IH-JAR 내부에서 유도된 와전류에 의하여 발생되고, 열은 열원과 열방정식을 사용하여 계산되어진다. 또한, IH-JAR의 온도분포를 시간과 투자율에 따라 제시하였다.

  • Longitudinal deformation is produced by fillet welding during the fabrication of built-up beams and decreases productivity and quality because it needs an extra correcting process. The deformation is caused by welding moment, which is the value multiplied the welding shrinking farce by the distance from the neutral axis. This welding moment can be offset by generating a moment in the same magnitude and in an opposite direction by induction heating. The location and quantity of the induction heating are decided via experiments and simple equations. This study, first, clarifies the creation mechanism of the longitudinal deformation with FEM analysis. Then, we presents the preventive method of this deformation by induction heating basing on the mechanism and verifies its validity through analysis and experiments.

  • This paper has described about a SEPP Inverter for induction heating load. It is analyzed theoretically about the Inverter operation for induction heating. According to the parameters of induction heating load, it is proposed a method of circuit analysis and operation characteristics of the Inverter. In addition, the soft switching technology known as ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) is used to reduce turn on and off loss at switching. The Proposed inverter shows it can be practically used as power source system for high frequency induction heating appliancs.

The Prevention of the Longitudinal Deformation on the Built­Up Beam by using Induction Heating

  • During the manufacture of a ship, longitudinal deformation is produced by fillet welding on the Built­Up beam used to improve the longitudinal strength of a ship. This deformation needs a correcting process separate from a manufacture process and decreases productivity and quality. This deformation is caused by welding moment, which is the value multiplied the shrinking force due to welding by the distance from the neutral axis on a cross section of Built­Up beam. This deformation can be offset by generating a moment which is the same magnitude with and is located in an opposite direction to the welding moment on web plate by induction heating. Accordingly, this study clarifies the creation mechanism of the longitudinal deformation on Built­Up beam with FEM analysis and presents the preventative method of this deformation by induction heating basing the mechanism and verifies its validity through analysis and experiments. The induction heating used here is performed by deciding its location and quantity with experiments and simple equations and by applying them to a real structure.

유도가열 조리기기용 인버터 파라미터 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Parameter Optimization of Inverter for Induction Heating Cooking Appliance)

  • With the advent of power semiconductor switching devices, power electronics relating to high frequency electromagnetic eddy current based induction heating technology have become more suitable and acceptable. This paper presents high-frequency induction heating cooking appliance circuit based on the zero current switching-PWM single ended push-pull(ZCS-PWM SEPP) resonant inverter added AC-DC converter. This inverter uses pulse-width-modulation(PWM) control method with active auxiliary quasi-resonant lossless inductor snubbers and a switched capacitor. To improved the transient performance, the PI controller is applied for this system. For the systematic parameter optimization of the PI controller, the gradient-based optimization algorithm is applied. The performance of optimized parameters is evaluated using simulation and experimental test. These results show that the proposed systematic optimal tuning method improve the transient performances of this system.
