교차 결합 현상을 고려한 매입형 영구자석 전동기의 인덕턴스 특성 해석 (Inductance Analysis of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Considering Cross-Coupling Effect)

  • In this paper, the inductance characteristics of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) considering cross-coupling effect is analyzed. It is known that the IPMSM has it's operating point at the saturated region. So the cross-coupling effect exists, therefore cross-coupling inductance exists. With the application of Fixed Permeability Method (FPM), we can obtain more exact inductance characteristics of IPMSM. In this paper, a novel method based on the FPM is proposed, which can consider the cross-coupling effect. And the cross-coupling inductance which is the analysis result is shown. Finally, the validity of proposed method is verified by the comparison with the experimental result.

  • In case of field weakening region, the dynamic behavior of the speed controller depends on the rotor flux level. In this region, the flux is decreased inversely proportional to the rotor speed. As the rotor flux is decreased, as the magnetizing inductance is increased. In this paper, the effect of this increased magnetizing inductance to the performance of vector control is illustrated. The stationary reference frame torque not including the magnetizing inductance is calculated by stationary stator flux, and the rotating reference frame torque including the magnetizing inductance is calculated by rotating rotor flux. If the magnetizing inductance value is constant, two torque values are same regardless of the flux-component current. However, if the magnetizing inductance is varied, those two values are different. The paper presents the new tuning scheme of the magnetizing inductance using the difference between the stationary and rotating torque. Computer simulation demonstrates the efficacy of the proposed scheme.

유한요소법에 의한 변압기 인덕턴스 계산 (The Calculation of Transformer Inductance by the Finite Element Method)

  • The finite element method for calculating single phase transformer inductance is presented in this paper. There are three basic definitions of saturated transormer inductance. The set of nonlinear finite element equations is solved by the Newton-Raphson method which assures nearly quadratic convergence of the iteration process. The effect of perturbation of currents of this transformer is used to calculate the saturated winding inductance. This approach is used to calculate the apparent, effective and incremental inductance of single phase transformer. The apparent inductance is in good agreement with resting result. The approach enabled one to study the variation of winding inductance according to the saturation levels in the core at any operating point.

Effect of IPMSM d-q Axis Parameters According to Magnetic Saturation and Armature Reaction

  • FEA was used to analyze inductance and torque of IPMSM. Torque and inductance are analyzed on the dq-axis. It was shown that Ld and Lq have harmonic components, and magnitude as well as phase of the harmonics varies according to the current values. This paper shows the relationship between these inductance harmonics and the 6th harmonic component of torque.

  • A moving coil linear oscillatory actuator is consisted of the NdFeB permanent magnets with high specific energy as the stator, a coil-wrapped nonmagnetic hollow rectangular structure and an iron core as a pathway for magnetic flux. The variation of mover position and the consequent changes of coil flux path affect the coil inductance, because coil flux leaks at the open region of LOA stator. The interaction between permanent magnet and armature field is to shift the airgap flux density variation due to the magnet alone by a certain amount. The unbalanced reciprocation force due to armature reaction field decreases the advantage of moving coil LOA, such as a high degree of linearity and controllability in the force ad motion control. This paper firstly describes the coil inductance, the deviation of flux density, and the unbalanced reciprocation force, which are derived form the permeance model of LOA. Secondly, the analytical method are verified using the 2D finite element method and tests. Finally, the dynamic simulation algorithm taking the armature reaction effect and variable inductance into account, is proposed and confirmed through the experiment.

  • When the characteristics of a linear induction motor (LIM) are analyzed using finite element analysis (FEA), it is desirable to set the voltage source as an input. If the voltage source is set as an input in FEA, the leakage inductance and primary resistance of the equivalent circuit must be entered by direct calculation, and the magnetizing inductance and secondary reaction effects are directly considered in FEA. Exact calculation is necessary because the primary winding resistance and leakage inductance directly entered will have a significant effect on the LIM output. Therefore, in this study, we accurately calculated the primary leakage inductance and analyzed the resulting LIM characteristics. We calculated the leakage inductance using an analytical equation and FEA, and we confirmed the accuracy by comparing the results with the value experimentally calculated using a manufactured model. We also analyzed the instrument performance and thrust of the LIM as a function of the difference in the leakage inductance. Finally, we present the conclusions on the precise analysis based on the calculation of the leakage inductance.

  • This paper deals with d-q axis inductance measurements of IPMSM considering core loss at low speed. d-q axis inductance measurements generally are conducted at rated speed and parallel core loss model can be used to exclude core loss effects on inductances. Core loss is generally modeled parallel to input terminal of d-q axis equivalent circuit. Therefore, the effect of core loss on inductance calculation can be varied by core loss modeling. In this paper, d-q axis inductance is calculated parallel and series core loss modeling. Calculated inductances are compared to FEA results and it is concluded that series core loss modeling is more closed to FEA results at low speed.

  • In this paper, the d, q-axis inductance of IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) was calculated by the FEA(Finite Element Analysis). And the CVCT(Current Vector Control Test) was performed, and compared with FEA. Therefore the inductance experiment according to the variation of the current phase angle was performed. However, the error was generated in the fundamental wave detection of the voltage and current waveform. So, error has largely effect on the result of computation, it has to note specially. In addition, by using the calculated inductance, the torque calculation was performed and this result was compared through the dynamometer experiment.

  • For synchronous motor, back-EMF and inductance have mainly effect on the characteristics of the motor. Therefore inductance and back-EMF ranges should be limited to obtain desirable characteristics, and it is possible to get design goal easily by adjusting those two parameters. In this paper EMF-Inductance Map(E-L Map) is presented in order to predict the performance of a motor in initial design. By applying the E-L map to design process of 1MW super-conducting synchronous motor it's usefulness is verified.

  • A discontinuity of magnetic circuits according to the end effect is generated in PMLSM. And magnetic state of the 3 phase coils becomes unbalanced. Due to the unbalanced magnetic state, the unbalanced flux linkage, back electro-magnetic force and inductance of the 3 phase coils appear. In result, the circulating current is generated by unbalanced inductance even if the input voltages are in balanced state. Then the thrust and efficiency are decreased because of the circulating current. Therefore, in this paper, the unbalanced inductance and the thrust reduction according to discontinuity of magnetic circuits are analyzed by FEA(2D). To demonstrate the validity of the analysis results, the experiment results are compared with analysis results.
