  • More than ten years after the era of GPS-Photogrammetry which could provide us only three projection center of all six exterior orientation parameters, direct georeferencing with GPS/INS is now becoming a standard method for image orientation. Its main advantage is to skip or reduce the indirect ground control process. This paper describes the experimental test results of integrated sensor orientation with a commercial GPS/IMU system to approve its performance in determination of exterior orientation. For this purpose two different imaging blocks were planned and the area was photographed at a large photo scale of 1:5,000 and a medium photo scale of 1:20,000. From these data set a variety of meaningful results was acquired, i.e., the accuracy. potential of exterior orientation from direct georeferencing and combined block adjustment using these data considering different photo scales and conditions.

  • This case report describes a technique in which endodontic treatment and permanent indirect restoration were completed in the same clinical appointment with the aid of a computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system. Two patients were diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis of the mandibular first molar. After access preparation, root canals were located, irrigation was performed until bleeding ceased, and the coronal tooth structure was prepared for indirect restoration. Then, utilizing an interim 3-mm build-up of the endodontic access cavity, a hemi-arch digital scan was performed with an intraoral scanner. Subsequent to digital scanning, restoration design was performed simultaneously with the endodontic procedure. The root canals were shaped using the Race system under irrigation with 2.5% sodium hypochlorite followed by root canal filling. The pulp chamber was subsequently filled with a 3-mm-thick composite resin restoration mimicking the interim build-up previously utilized to facilitate block milling in the CAD/CAM system. Clinical try-in of the permanent onlay restoration was followed by acid etching, application of a 5th generation adhesive, and cementation of the indirect restoration. Once the restoration was cemented, rubber dam isolation was removed, followed by occlusal adjustment and polishing. After 2 years of follow-up, the restorations were esthetically and functionally satisfactory, without complications.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of college adjustment, character, communicative competence, and interpersonal competence on field practice adaptation of college student. Subjects were 231 nursing students and medical students in J city and C city, G-do. Using SPSS/WIN 20.0, multiple regression analysis using Baron & Kenny's three-step procedure and Sobel test were used to verify the significance of the mediator effect. The variables directly affecting field practice adaptation were college adjustment (${\beta}=.22$, p=.003) and interpersonal competence (${\beta}=.38$, p<.001). Character and Communicative competence did not have a direct affect on field practice adaptation (${\beta}=.02$, p=.740), (${\beta}=.04$, p=.590) but indirect effect through interpersonal competence was significant(${\beta}=.15$, p=.004), (${\beta}=.19$, p=.011). As character and communicative competence are the variables affecting field practice adaptation through interpersonal competence, training programs to improve character, communicative competence, and interpersonal competence in college are needed.

  • In this study, using data completed in the 11th year of the Panel Study on Korean Children, discourse management, situational adjustment and application ability, communication intention, and non-verbal communication were investigated by the child pragmatic language checklist tool in the field of cognitive and language development. It is to find a significant influence by analyzing the relationship between the factors of the observed variables on the latent variables of communication. The subject of this study is 4th grade elementary school students in 1,392 households, excluding 36 non-respondents to the language development question, out of 2150 households in the 11th year of the Panel Study on Korean Children(2018) data, 1428 households excluding 722 households who did not participate in the survey. As a result of the study, it was found that the total effect, direct effect, and indirect effect among the three latent variables except for communication intention were all significant in the effect analysis of the research model. Specifically, not only did nonverbal communication have a direct effect on discourse management ability, but also the indirect influence mediated by situational control and application ability was significant in the relationship between nonverbal communication and discourse management ability. As a result, it was found that the higher the non-verbal communication and situational adjustment and adaptation ability, the higher the discourse management ability.

  • The concrete damage plasticity (CDP) model is widely used to simulate concrete behaviour using either implicit or explicit analysis methods. To effectively execute the models and resolve convergence issues in implicit analysis, activating the viscosity parameter of this material model is a common practice. Despite the frequent application of implicit analysis to analyse concrete structures with the CDP model, the viscosity parameter significantly varies among available models and lacks consistency. The adjustment of the viscosity parameter at the element/structural level disregards its indirect impact on the material. Therefore, the accuracy of the numerical model is confined to the validated range and might not hold true for other values, often explored in parametric studies subsequent to validations. To address these challenges and develop a unified numerical model for varied conditions, a quasi-static analysis using the explicit solver was conducted in this study. Fifteen thick flat plates tested under load control with different geometries and different eccentric loads were considered to verify the accuracy of the model. The study first investigated various concrete material behaviours under compression and tension as well as the concrete tensile strength to identify the most reliable models from previous methodologies. The study compared the results using both implicit and explicit analysis. It was found that, in implicit analysis, the viscosity parameter should be as low as 0.0001 to avoid affecting material properties. However, at the structural level, the optimum value may need adjustment between 0.00001 to 0.0001 with changing geometries and loading type. This observation raises concerns about further parametric study if the specific value of the viscosity parameter is used. Additionally, activating the viscosity parameter in load control simulations confirmed its inability to capture the peak load. Conversely, the unified explicit model accurately simulated the behaviour of the test specimens under varying geometries, load eccentricities, and column sizes. This study recommends restricting implicit solutions to the viscosity values proposed in this research. Alternatively, for highly nonlinear problems under load control simulation, explicit analysis stands as an effective approach, ensuring unified parameters across a wide range of applications without convergence problems.

  • The purpose of this exploratory study is to examine if the application of smart technology(ST) would assist adjustment to the nursing home facilities in the elderly. Since there is not much previous research on this subject, we generated survey questionnaires on our own. Data were collected from the survey of 127 employees at 6 nursing homes including geriatric care workers, social workers and nurses who provide direct as well as indirect care services. Results showed that the utilization of ST would benefit the areas of family relationship support, health support, leisure support, and physical environment adjustment. As for physical environment adjustment, study participants reported that ST would help elders familiarize employees and find directions for specific space the most. As for health support, ST would be best utilized as a security sensor and program alarm system. As for support for family relationship, ST was expected to be utilized as looking at family pictures and playing with self pictures/videos. As for leisure support, ST was expected to assist elders to listen to music and watch movies/TV. These results were different according to the characteristics of the participants and the smartifacts. These results of the study will show the direction for more in-depth studies on application of smart technology for the elderly in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of elementary school students' stress and social support on smartphone addiction and school adjustment. Our hypothesis is that stress and social support of elementary school students affects smartphone addiction and school adjustment. In addition, the study model assumes that stress and social support of elementary school students were mediated by the effects of smartphone addiction. Analysis results found that elementary school students' stress affects smartphone addiction and school life adaptation, and social support influences school life adaptation. Elementary students' smartphone addiction has little influence on school life adjustment. Stress in elementary school students has a strong influence on smartphone addiction, social support, and adaptation to school life. In other words, higher stress levels results in higher frequency of use of smartphones, which may directly affect smartphone addiction and the ability to adapt to school life. The effects of stress and social support of elementary school students on school life adaptation and smartphone addiction were ultimately indirect. Based on the research results, this study suggests policy implications for elementary school students' addiction to smartphone and ability to adapt to school life.

  • The Employment Permit System (EPS), a system of bringing in low-skilled foreign workers, has been implemented since 2004 to relieve labor shortages in SMEs. Despite the increasing number of foreign workers under this system, due to lack of research we have very limited managerial understanding. Moreover, previous studies focused on economic or legal perspectives, which calls for a different perspective of business and management. In this study, we examined how to foster organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB) of low-skilled immigrant workers at the workplace by integrating two analytical frames-social support from management studies and cultural adjustment from immigrant literature. We tested our model using a sample of 661 immigrant workers from 11 countries working in Korea. Our results indicated that, social support perception triggered not only a direct effect on organizational citizenship behaviors of immigrant workers but also indirect effects via the level of cultural adaptation. Our findings indicated that two views are all meaningful in explaining OCB of immigrants, and provided practical implications to SMEs using EPS.
