  • Present study investigates the fuzzy reliability of some systems using intuitionistic fuzzy Weibull lifetime distribution, in which the lifetime parameters are assumed to be fuzzy parameter due to uncertainty and inaccuracy of data. Expressions for fuzzy reliability, fuzzy mean time to failure, fuzzy hazard function and their ${\alpha}$-cut have been discussed when systems follow intuitionistic fuzzy Weibull lifetime distribution. A numerical example is also taken to illustrate the methodology to calculate the fuzzy reliability characteristics of systems.

  • The major source of railway noises is rolling noise caused by the interaction of the wheels and rails. This rolling noise is generated by the roughness of the wheel/rail surface on tangent tack in the absence of discontinuities, such as wheel flats or rail joints. These roughness cause relative vibrations of the wheel and rail at their contact area. The vibrations generated at the contact area are transmitted through the wheel and rail structures, exciting resonances of the wheel and travelling waves ill tile rail. Then these vibrations radiate noise to the wayside. In this paper, we predict the rolling noise radiated from radial/axial motion of the wheel and vertical/lateral motion of the rail using Remington's analytical model and then compare of the predicted sound pressure and measured one. Although there are some inaccuracy in our predication these results show in good agreement between 500 ㎐ and 3150㎐.

  • In the highly competitive construction industry, a slight inaccuracy of estimation can easily cause the loss of a project. Erroneous experience-based cost estimates or allocations of on-site supervisory manpower often offset the profit gained from the project and may jeopardize the management processes. To counter these types of problems, we develop a model using mathematical analysis and case-based reasoning to automate the allocation of on-site supervisory manpower and estimate construction site costs. The method is founded upon laborious data collection processes and analysis by matching statistical assumptions, and is applicable to construction projects. In the modeling the costs and allocation of on-site supervisory manpower are quantified for both owners and contractors before initiating or bidding on the projects. The findings confirm that the degree of variation of the model predictions has an accuracy rate at 88.47%. Single-site construction projects can be accurately predicted and the assignment of supervisory manpower feasibly automated.

  • Objective: This study introduces exposure concentrations of time-weighted average standard (TWA) evaluation and short-time exposure standard (STEL) evaluation for trichloroethylene in the cleaning process. Methods: Trichloroethylene measurement was conducted according to the KOSHA Guide (A-24-2019) method. It was carried out twice. Results: As a result of the first measurement, TWA concentration exceeded 4 times the exposure standard and STEL concentration exceeded 16 times, but the inaccuracy and breakthrough of the collection time could not be considered, so the second measurement was conducted. The second measurement result was lower than the first measurement result, but exceeded the exposure standards (TWA, STEL). Conclusions: We were able to confirm that the exposure level of workers in the cleaning process using trichloroethylene exceeded the exposure standard. And it is also considered necessary to grasp the approximate concentration using a detector tube in the preliminary survey.

  • This study presents a numerical investigation into the hysteretic behavior of cold-formed austenitic stainless steel square hollow section (SHS) brace members using a commercial finite element (FE) analysis software ABAQUS/Standard. The initial/post buckling and fracture life of SHS brace members are comprehensively investigated through parametric studies with FE models incorporating ductile fracture model, which is validated against the existing laboratory test results collected from the literature. It is found that the current predictive models are applicable for the initial buckling strengths of SHS brace members under cyclic loading, while result in significant inaccuracy in predictions for the post-buckling strength and fracture life. The modified predictive model is therefore proposed and the applicability was then confirmed through excellent comparisons with test results for cold-formed austenitic stainless SHS brace members.

  • Light field (LF) superpixel segmentation aims to group the similar pixels not only in the single image but also in the other views to improve the computational efficiency of further applications like object detection and pattern recognition. Among the state-of-the-art methods, there is an approach to segment the LF images while enforcing the view consistency. However, it leaves too much noise and inaccuracy in the shape of superpixels. In this paper, we modify the process of the clustering step. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms the existing method in terms of view-consistency.

  • With the rapid development of AI technology, ChatGPT and other AI content creation tools are becoming common, and users are becoming curious and adopting them. These tools, unlike search engines, generate results based on user prompts, which puts them at risk of inaccuracy or plagiarism. This allows unethical users to create inappropriate content and poses greater educational and corporate data security concerns. AI content detection is needed and AI-generated text needs to be identified to address misinformation and trust issues. Along with the positive use of AI tools, monitoring and regulation of their ethical use is essential. When detecting content created by AI with an AI content detection tool, it can be used efficiently by using the appropriate tool depending on the usage environment and purpose. In this paper, we collect data on AI content detection tools and compare and analyze the functions and characteristics of AI content detection tools to help meet these needs.

  • The GPS baseline processing and the network adjustment was required a preliminary classification and check for effective work because the observation data of GPS $3^{rd}$ order control points are enormous attain to about 12,000 points. Particularly, in baseline processing and network adjustment a inaccuracy GPS antenna heights and point names yield a gross error or a S/W computation error. For the baseline processing of observation data, the related all materials were collected and were required a final check. The factor occurring a error, in GPS the baseline processing, were inspected variously after a checking observation data. Also, baseline processing method of GPS $3^{rd}$ order control points were commented and the analysis carry out a results with a experiment. The ellipsoidal distance and height of duplication baseline was compared between adjoin campaign areas for a accuracy analysis of baseline processing. According to the result, the mean is about 1cm for horizontal direction and about 2cm for vertical direction.

  • To establish area specific control strategy for ambient ozone in the Seoul Metropolitan Area (SMA), the maximum ozone concentration in each local government district in the SMA were estimated by using the OZone Isopleth Plotting Package for Research (OZIPR) model. The modeling period was June 2000 and the emission inventory data used were from National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER). Except the islands of Incheon, whole Seoul and Incheon areas were volatile organic compounds (VOCs) limited, i.e., decreasing the oxides of nitrogen ($NO_X$) emission alone may increase the maximum ozone concentration upto certain point. In Gyeonggi, 12 areas were VOCs limited while 12 areas were in between VOCs limited and $NO_X$ limited, i.e., decreasing both $NO_X$ and VOCs emission may decrease the maximum ozone concentration. Majority of the estimated ozone values were lower than the measured values. The reason could be inaccuracy in emission inventories and/or transport from other areas. The same calculation was carried out for June 2004 and it was found that Seoul was still in the VOCs limited condition.

  • There is significant concern in the engineering community regarding the safety and effectiveness of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) strengthening of RC structures because of the potential for brittle debonding failures. In this paper, previous research programs conducted by other researchers were reviewed in terms of the debonding failure of FRP laminates externally attached to concrete. This review article also discusses the influences on bond strength and failure modes as well as the existing experimental research and developed equations. Based on the review, several important conclusions were re-emphasized, including the finding that the bond transfer strength is proportional to the concrete compressive strength; that there is a certain bond development length that has to be exceeded; and that thinner adhesive layers in fact lower the chances of a concrete-adhesive interface failure. It is also found that there exist uncertainty and inaccuracy in the available models when compared with the experimental data and inconsistency among the models. This demonstrates the need for continuing research and compilation of data on the topic of FRP's bond strength.
