Development of an Aging Anxiety Scale for Middle-Aged Women (중년여성의 노화불안 측정도구 개발)

  • Purpose: This was a methodological study that aimed to develop a measurement scale for aging anxiety among middle-aged women. Methods: In this study, construct factors were extracted, and a conceptual framework was established through an extensive literature review and in-depth interviews with middle-aged women. Under the conceptual framework, 44 preliminary items were constructed, and a preliminary scale of 25 items was completed after two rounds of expert validation and item review. For this study, data were collected from 201 women aged 40~59 years, and the construct validity and reliability of the preliminary scale were verified. Results: To verify the construct validity, exploratory factor analysis was conducted. Four factors containing 19 items were extracted. Concurrent validity of the developed scale was verified with Pearson's correlation analysis. The final scale comprised 4 factors ("Social valueless", "Physical weakness", "Concern about changes in appearance", and "Expectations of old age") and 19 items. The Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ value was .91. Conclusion: The scale for measuring aging anxiety in middle-aged women developed in this study validly reflected the peculiarities of aging anxiety in middle-aged women, who experience many physical, emotional, and social changes. The scale can be said to reflect the cultural background, as it reflected real experiences gained through in-depth interviews with middle-aged women.

  • Purpose: This study aims to analyze the confirmation the purchase decision of community enterprise products, such information is an important issue for community enterprise entrepreneurs to develop a marketing strategy through the purchasing decision of community enterprise products Research design, data and methodology: The research was designed by using mixed methods research (exploratory design), starting with in-depth interviews of consumers of community enterprise products to determine the reasons for their purchase decisions. The researcher then used the data from the in-depth interviews to create a questionnaire for consumers of community enterprise products. These data were used to analyze the confirmation components of such elements. Results: The analysis found the following. 1. Decision-making is based on a product 2. Decision-making is based on social context considerations Conclusions: Develop an image to make a difference between community enterprise entrepreneurs and general entrepreneurs for distribution. The local wisdom, it is a local intellectual resource. It should be used in adjusting or blending old knowledge with new knowledge together appropriately. Creating community participation, love, unity, and the sympathy of the people in the community can help in participation in the operation of community enterprises.

  • This research is aimed to inquiry retention types of middle school students about results of evaluation in school mathematics, For this purpose, we selected evaluation time, problem types, evaluation score, evaluation factors as important factors which influence to students' retention types. Then we classified students' retention types about results of evaluation in school mathematics. From this results, we selected two students as participants, and collected data through depth interviews of them. In depth interviews, we focused on 'what is the core factor influenced to students' evaluation', 'how the core factors reappear in the future'. Through this process, we analyzed middle school students' retention types about results of evaluation in school mathematics.

Qualitative Study on the Benefit Sought and Brand Loyalty by Product Category of the Luxury Goods Through In-depth Interviews with Professionals in Fashion Industry

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the benefits sought by luxury good customers contingent on product category, and to understand the relationship between the benefits sought and brand loyalty. A qualitative approach was used; therefore in-depth interviews were conducted with seven panels of professionals in the luxury industry. The findings are as follows: 1) Handbag customers mainly seek the social benefits in order to express their social status by purchasing well-known, easily-recognizable brands. 2) Shoe customers primarily seek the practical-functional benefits, which are comfort and function. 3) Small Leather Goods customers seek the social benefits for themselves and as gifts for others. 4) Brand loyalty for handbag customers is reported to be low, as their primary goals are the social benefits. Rather than devoting themselves to one specific brand, handbag customers prefer to purchase from various brands. 5) Shoe customers have reportedly higher brand loyalty, as they tend to come back to brands when they are satisfied with the benefits they pursue. The findings of this study provide more information on the practical implications of luxury good customer purchasing habits. Firstly, customers pursue different benefits depending on product category, and secondly, brand loyalty differs by customers' benefits.

A Study on Wives' Experience of Unemployment of Their Husbands (남편의 실직에 대한 아내의 경험 연구)

  • In this study, I analyzed how wives experience their husbands' sudden loss of jobs. In-depth interviews were conducted with six married women whose husbands lost jobs. Each person was interviewed for 3 to 4 hours, between June and August 2003. The wives tended to see the husband as someone who gave them a hard time, yet whom they still had to rely on. In addition, the husband was another difficult problem that they had to deal with, because they had to watch the husband struggle to adjust following the distressing event. Some wives blamed themselves for the unemployment of their husbands and were pained for their husbands' adversity. The wives also had the challenge of taking up a job to support the family. Their marital life became tougher and more conflicts emerged. The wives often alienated their husbands from the rest of the family unintentionally, or attempted to break away from their husbands by leaving home. Yet, they returned home in the end, and tried to find hope, by taking a different perspective and looking at the bright side of life, by finding the value of her existence, through faith, and by reaffirming love for the husband and children.

A Study on Exploring the Main Factors and Methods to Improve Community Care : Focusing on the Case of GyeongSangNam-Do (커뮤니티케어 개선을 위한 주요 요인 탐색과 방안 연구 : 경상남도 사례 중심으로)

  • Objectives: The goals of this study are to exploring critical factors and methods to improve Korean Community Care through the cases of GyeongsangNamdo. Methods: For this study, we performed in-depth interviews with 90 people involved in Community Care services of 6 regions, and the collected data were analyzed. The collected data were analyzed utilizing NVivo12. In the end, we reconfirmed the process through Topic Modeling analysis. Results: We conducted descriptive statistics and qualitative data analysis collected through surveys and in-depth interviews. In the case of qualitative analysis, we extracted principle codes (Need, Lack, Absence), and sorted the contents into sub-categories. The response rate of 'Need to strengthen capabilities' was the highest, 'Need to communicate and share information' was the second, and 'Need for integrated operation and a control tower' was the third. Conclusion: As a result, we find the critical factors to improve Community Care. Based on them, we should conduct follow-up researches to propose concrete methods to apply to diverse regions.

A Study on Design Guidelines of Learning Analytics to Facilitate Self-Regulated Learning in MOOCs

  • The purpose of this study was to develop design guidelines on the learning analytics which can help to promote students' self-regulated learning (SRL) strategies in MOOCs learning environments. First of all, to develop the first draft of design guidelines, relevant literature review and case analysis on current MOOCs platforms such as edX, K-MOOC, Coursera, Khan Academy and FutureLearn were conducted. Then, to validate the design guidelines, expert reviews (validation questionnaires and in-depth interviews) and learner evaluation (in-depth interviews) were conducted. Through the recursive validation, the design guidelines were finalized. Overall, the final version of design guidelines on learning analytics to facilitate SRL strategies was suggested. The final design guidelines consist of 15 items in 10 categories related to the information analyzed based on individual student's learning behaviors and activities on MOOCs environments. Moreover, the results of interview also revealed that the social comparisons, learning progress reports, and personalization might contribute to the improvements of their SRL competences. This study has an implication that MOOCs could offer a higher success or completion rate to students with low SRL skills by taking advantage of the information on learning analytics

  • This study is a qualitative study to understand the meaning and the nature of catharsis experienced by the participants of the psychodrama group. Participants were four experts who had a long history of participating in the psychodrama group. In-depth interviews were held one by one from February to June 2018, and each interview took 1-2 hours. Data collected through in-depth interviews were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological research method. The result is four categories and eight theme clusters. Intrinsic structure is represented by 'physical purification', 'psychological stability', 'cognitive insight', 'Spontaneous expansion'.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine optimal transportation routes through the comparison of Korean - European transportation routes of automotive parts and to suggest information that can be utilized in Korea - Europe trade activities or trade route selection by establishing multipath. This study analyzed the direct transportation cost, inventory cost, and warehouse inventory cost of the sea and TSR / TCR railroad transport based on characteristics of automotive parts logistics and multimodal transportation. Also, this study identifies the most effective transportation route from the viewpoint of total logistics cost. In addition to the economic factors, we conducted an in-depth analysis through interviews with corporate executives to identify the importance of the factors with the behavioral factors, and the reliability was further secured through interviews. Through this study, it is possible to understand various aspects of international logistics by analyzing the factors of transportation choice in terms of economic and behavioral perspectives concurrently by differentiating from existing research.

A Qualitative Study of Offshore Outsourcing by Korean Clothing Companies (국내 의류업체의 해외소싱에 대한 질적 연구)

  • This study assumes that Korea's offshore outsourcing is used for diverse purposes such as designing, the supply of raw and subsidiary materials, production, and manufacturing. The purpose for production exists in the beginning stages of development, because it would have grown in scope since the 1990s when offshore outsourcing began in earnest. In this study, in-depth interviews were conducted with 24 firms with an annual production capacity of more than 200,000 pieces among clothing brands for the domestic market, clothing exporters, and promotion agencies. The interviews took place from December 18, 2008 to January 30, 2009. The interviewees were limited to the officers who had the authority to select manufacturers and decide on production volumes. Responses from the in-depth interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed. The study results are summarized as follows: First, Korean clothing companies were found to rely on offshore outsourcing (China, North Korea, Vietnam, and Indonesia). Second, offshore outsourcing focused on the purposes for production; however, even fabrics were often outsourced in the case of production in China. Third, the interviewed firms mentioned cost savings, production cost reduction, and labor cost reduction most frequently as the main reasons for offshore outsourcing. Fourth, customs duties were considered most important in offshore outsourcing. Finally, when deciding on foreign manufacturers for offshore outsourcing, the surveyed clothing companies were found to: select manufacturers after market research in their outsourced countries, maintain existing contracts, or consider design capabilities and price quotations of candidate manufacturers.
