Catalytic filters consisting of Ni nanoparticle and carbon fiber with different oxidation states of Ni (either metallic or oxidic) were prepared using a chemical vapor deposition process and various post-annealing steps. CO oxidation reactivity of each sample was evaluated using a batch type quartz reactor with a gas mixture of CO (500 mtorr) and $O_2$ (3 torr) at $300^{\circ}C$. Metallic and oxidic Ni showed almost the same CO oxidation reactivity. Moreover, the CO oxidation reactivity of metallic sample remained unchanged in the subsequently performed second reaction experiment. We suggested that metallic Ni transformed into oxidic state at the initial stage of the exposure to the reactant gas mixture, and Ni-oxide was catalytically active species. In addition, we found that CO oxidation reactivity of Ni-oxide surface was enhanced by increase in the $H_2O$ impurity in the reactor.
YAG (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet, Y3Al5O12) has excellent plasma resistance and recently has been used as an alternative to Y2O3 as a chamber coating material in the semiconductor process. However, due to the presence of an impurity phase and difficulties in synthesis and densification, many studies on YAG are being conducted. In this study, YAG powder is synthesized by an organic-inorganic complex solution synthesis method using PVA polymer. The PVA solution is added to the sol in which the metal nitrate salts are dissolved, and the precursor is calcined into a porous and soft YAG powder. By controlling the molecular weight and the amount of PVA polymer, the effect on the particle size and particle shape of the synthesized YAG powder is evaluated. The sintering behavior of the YAG powder compact according to PVA type and grinding time is studied through an examination of its microstructure. Single phase YAG is synthesized at relatively low temperature of 1,000 ℃ and can be pulverized to sub-micron size by ball milling. In addition, sintered YAG with a relative density of about 98 % is obtained by sintering at 1,650 ℃.
In this study, to improve sintering condition, anisotropic properties ( $k_{t}$/ $k_{p}$) of electromechanical coupling coefficient and piezoelectric constant $d_{h}$ and $g_{h}$, Mn $O_{2}$ impurity was added to the (P $b_{0.76}$C $a_{0.24}$)[( $Co_{1}$2/ $W_{1}$2/)$_{0.04}$$Ti_{0.96}$] $O_{3}$ ceramics for application to hydrophone devices. Electromechanical coupling coefficients of the specimen with 1.5 [mol%] Mn $O_{2}$ sintered at 1150.deg. C were $k_{t}$=49% and $k_{p}$ = O, which exibited the highest value in piezoelectric anisotropic properties (kt/kp). Without relations with sintering temperature, the highest value of hydrostatic piezoelectric constant $d_{h}$ & $g_{h}$ were shown at the specimen with 1.5 [mol%] Mn $O_{2}$. Accordingly, the best addition amount of Mn $O_{2}$ was 1.5 [mol%] and proper sintering temperature was 1150.deg. C. Hydrostatic piezoelectric constant values of $d_{h}$=64.52[10$^{-12}$ C/N], $g_{h}$=35.92[10$^{-3}$ Vm/N] in the above condition were effectiely extended for hydrophone applications.pplications.ons.
Microprocessor technology now relies on copper for most of its electrical interconnections. Because of the high diffusivity of copper, Atomic layer deposition (ALD) $TaN_x$ is used as a diffusion barrier to prevent copper diffusion into the Si or $SiO_2$. Another problem with copper is that it has weak adhesion to most materials. Strong adhesion to copper is an essential characteristic for the new barrier layer because copper films prepared by electroplating peel off easily in the damascene process. Thus adhesion-enhancing layer of cobalt is placed between the $TaN_x$ and the copper. Because, cobalt has strong adhesion to the copper layer and possible seedless electro-plating of copper. Until now, metal film has generally been deposited by physical vapor deposition. However, one draw-back of this method is poor step coverage in applications of ultralarge-scale integration metallization technology. Metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) is a good approach to address this problem. In addition, the MOCVD method has several advantages, such as conformal coverage, uniform deposition over large substrate areas and less substrate damage. For this reasons, cobalt films have been studied using MOCVD and various metal-organic precursors. In this study, we used $C_{12}H_{10}O_6(Co)_2$ (dicobalt hexacarbonyl tert-butylacetylene, CCTBA) as a cobalt precursor because of its high vapor pressure and volatility, a liquid state and its excellent thermal stability under normal conditions. Furthermore, the cobalt film was also deposited at various $H_2/NH_3$ gas ratio(1, 1:1,2,6,8) producing pure cobalt thin films with excellent conformality. Compared to MOCVD cobalt using $H_2$ gas as a reactant, the cobalt thin film deposited by MOCVD using $H_2$ with $NH_3$ showed a low roughness, a low resistivity, and a low carbon impurity. It was found that Co/$TaN_x$ film can achieve a low resistivity of $90{\mu}{\Omega}-cm$, a low root-mean-square roughness of 0.97 nm at a growth temperature of $150^{\circ}C$ and a low carbon impurity of 4~6% carbon concentration.
In this study, NASICON-type Li1+XGaXTi2-X(PO4)3 (x = 0.1, 0.3 and 0.4) solid-state electrolytes for all-solid-state batteries were synthesized through the sol-gel method. In addition, the influence on the ion conductivity of solid-state electrolytes when partially substituted for Ti4+ (0.61Å) site to Ga3+ (0.62Å) of trivalent cations was investigated. The obtained precursor was heat treated at 450 ℃, and a single crystalline phase of Li1+XGaXTi2-X(PO4)3 systems was obtained at a calcination temperature above 650 ℃. Additionally, the calcinated powders were pelletized and sintered at temperatures from 800 ℃ to 1,000 ℃ at 100 ℃ intervals. The synthesized powder and sintered bodies of Li1+XGaXTi2-X(PO4)3 were characterized using TG-DTA, XRD, XPS and FE-SEM. The ionic conduction properties as solid-state electrolytes were investigated by AC impedance. As a result, Li1+XGaXTi2-X(PO4)3 was successfully produced in all cases. However, a GaPO4 impurity was formed due to the high sintering temperatures and high Ga content. The crystallinity of Li1+XGaXTi2-X(PO4)3 increased with the sintering temperature as evidenced by FE-SEM observations, which demonstrated that the edges of the larger cube-shaped grains become sharper with increases in the sintering temperature. In samples with high sintering temperatures at 1,000 ℃ and high Ga content above 0.3, coarsening of grains occurred. This resulted in the formation of many grain boundaries, leading to low sinterability. These two factors, the impurity and grain boundary, have an enormous impact on the properties of Li1+XGaXTi2-X(PO4)3. The Li1.3Ga0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 pellet sintered at 900 ℃ was denser than those sintered at other conditions, showing the highest total ion conductivity of 7.66 × 10-5 S/cm at room temperature. The total activation energy of Li-ion transport for the Li1.3Ga0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 solid-state electrolyte was estimated to be as low as 0.36 eV. Although the Li1+XGaXTi2-X(PO4)3 sintered at 1,000 ℃ had a relatively high apparent density, it had less total ionic conductivity due to an increase in the grain-boundary resistance with coarse grains.
High silicon cast irons(HSCI) with the high acid resistance have been used for the prevention of acid corrosion occurring in various structures under acid conditions. However, the HSCI is only known as one of materials which have high acid resistance, but few work has dealt with this material in domestic. Therefore, in this study, the acid resistance of various cast irons with alloying elements and melting conditions have been examined, and studied the influences of the matrix structures, mechanical properties and morphologies of graphite. The results obtained in this study are as follows : In case of melting temperature, the mechanical properties of specimen manufactured with high temperature of $1650^{\circ}C$ showed higher value because the inclusion and impurity were removed. In case of pouring temperature, the mechanical properties of specimen fabricated below $1350^{\circ}C$ of pouring temperature showed higher value because the amount of gas absorption from atmosphere decreased during the solidification time. The corrosion rate decreased with increase in Si content. On the other hand, Mn addition appeared an opposite trend with Si.
The aim of the study was to formulate the stable amlodipine maleate tablet by selecting and combining of suitable ingredients. Amlodipine tablets were designed by using different manufacturing methods or formulations. Dissolution rate at 30 min of newly formulated tablets was over 98% in 0.1 M HCl medium. After 4 months storage under accelerated condition, the changes of appearance, loss on drying, content and total impurity were investigated. For long-term stability tests, two formulations of K017 (direct compressed tablets consisting of microcrystalline cellulose and pregelatinized starch) and K018 (wet granulated tablets by OpadryAMB) were stored under $25^{\circ}C$, 60% RH for 24 months. Under the accelerated condition, moisture content in K017 formulation was increased as 5.96% for 4 months, while other formulations with anhydrous monobasic phosphoric potassium or by wet granulation showed higher increase in moisture content compared to K017. In addition, K017 formulation showed a low decrease in contents and total relative substance as 0.8% and 0.7%, respectively. Similar stability of amlodipine in K017 was obtained under the long-term stability test. These results indicate that the K017 combined with microcrystalline cellulose and pregelatinized starch as ingredients is very stable formulation to protect active substance from moisture contact and sustain stability. Therefore, suitable combination of ingredients such as microcrystalline cellulose and pregelatinized starch could attribute to enhance the stability of moisture-labile drug such as amlodipine maleate.
Laser-doped selective emitter process requires dopant source deposition, spin-on-glass, and is able to form selective emitter through SiNx layer by laser irradiation on desired locations. However, after laser doping process, the remaining dopant layer needs to be washed out. Laser-induced melting of pre-deposited impurity doping is a precise selective doping method minimizing addition of process steps. In this study, we introduce a novel scheme for fabricating highly efficient selective emitter solar cell by laser doping. During this process, laser induced damage induces front contact destabilization due to the hindrance of silver nucleation even though laser doping has a potential of commercialization with simple process concept. When the laser induced damage is effectively removed using solution etch back process, the disadvantage of laser doping was effectively removed. The devices fabricated using laser doping scheme power conversion efficiency was significantly improved about 1% abs. after removal the laser damages.
