Emergency Detection System using PDA based on Self-response Algorithm

  • The aged are faced with increasing risk for falls. The aged have more fragile bones than others. When falls occur, it is important to detect this emergency state because such events often lead to more serious illness or even death. A implementation of PDA system, for detection of emergency situation, was developed using 3-axis accelerometer in this paper as follows. The signals were acquired from the 3-axis accelerometer, and then transmitted to the PDA through a Bluetooth module. This system can classify human activity, and also detect an emergency state like falls. When the fall occurs, the system generates the alarm on the PDA. If a subject does not respond to the alarm, the system determines whether the current situation is an emergency state or not, and then sends some information to the emergency center in the case of an urgent situation. Three different studies were conducted on 12 experimental subjects, with results indicating a good accuracy. The first study was performed to detect the posture change of human daily activity. The second study was performed to detect the correct direction of fall. The third study was conducted to check the classification of the daily physical activity. Each test lasted at least 1 min. in the third study. The output of the acceleration signal was compared and evaluated by changing various postures after attaching a 3-axis accelerometer module on the chest. The newly developed system has some important features such as portability, convenience and low cost. One of the main advantages of this system is that it is available at home healthcare environment. Another important feature lies in its low cost of manufacture. The implemented system can detect the fall accurately, so it will be widely used in emergency situations.

A Design and Implementation of CO2 Infuser for a Carbon Dioxide (카복시 테라피용 CO2 주입기의 설계 및 구현)

  • This thesis analysis the CARBO 3000 that is one of a $CO_2$ infuser and improve its effectiveness. The thesis designs H/W and S/W that controls the $CO_2$ infusing mass compared to the CARBO 3000. Specially the designed H/W has a newly CPU, LCD, a flow velocity controller, a solenoid valve and a flow sensor. Also the designed S/W is composed of GUI and the algorithm to control the $CO_2$ infusing mass. The designed and implemented the $CO_2$ Infuser in this thesis is tested for the performance. The commercial measuring sensor is used for the test. The testing results say that the designed and implemented the $CO_2$ Infuser in this thesis is much more accurate compared to the CARBO 3000 on $CO_2$ infusing.

  • In this paper we have designed and implemented in real time a simple, efficient and flexible AOPCM cosec using a high speed digital processor, NEC 7720. For ADPCM system, we have used an instantaneous adaptive quantizer and a first-order fixed predictor. The software for NEC 7720 has been developed and it was found that the NEC 7720 was capable of performing the entire ADPCAt algorithm for 4 channels in real time as optimizing the program. Computer simulation has born made to investigate a computational accuracr of NEC 7720 and to de-termine necessary parameters for a ADPCM codec. Real telephone speech, RC-shaped Gaussian noise and 1004 Hz tone signal were used for simulation. In simulation, the parameters werc optimized from the computed SNR and the informal listening test. The developed software was tested in real time operation using a hardware emulator for NEC 7720. It took a maximum 23.25$\mu$s to encode one sample and 113.5$\mu$s, including all the necessary 1/0 operations, to encode 4 channels. In the case of decoding process, it took 24.75$\mu$s to decode one sample and 119.5$\mu$s to decode 4 channels.

  • In this paper, we define requirements for call distribution of service control logic in Intelligent Network, Also, we propose call distribution mechanism for every subscriber with different call distribution rates, The call distribution mechanism had been developed as a function of Premium-rate Service in Intelligent Network. Our call distribution mechanism applies to percentage distribution instead of circular or hierarchical distribution. The call distribution mechanism consists of call input. output. call distribution processing logic part, random number generator, and customers database. We propose the practical implementation of a call distribution mechanism and call distribution decision indicating number computation method. We show three methods, the rand() function in C language, microsecond by system clock, and proposed algorithm, to get call distribution decision indicating number. In order to optimal call distribution mechanism, we estimated the results of three methods on occurrence values and the number of occurrences.

  • As it is developing and growing up the mobile telecommunication, commercial mobile, and the application on it, the smart phone is attracting public attention techniques, hereafter. In this paper, we can make the context-awareness platform to supply users with the interface for their appropriate contexts using the smart phone. Therefore, we use the sensors in the smart phone, and the values from them are analyzed. As a result, we can estimate the user's contexts, such as the sitting and standing, movement, the lights, positions, locations, etc. In addition, we happen the suitable events from them for users. Therefore, we can provide the perspective interfaces for them. In addition, to prove the more efficiency of the proposed platform, we implemented the shooting game, and could know that the performance is the more advanced than the others. The proposed algorithm can be used for the mobile environments, which high efficiency is required such as the game, or the implementation of mobile applications which are more efficient to the user interfaces, etc.

  • In this study, it was attempted to develop a grade-customized statistical analysis system that can be operated by a teacher without professional knowledge of statistics by utilizing profiling in the education sector. For this, with the convergence of techniques of profiling into the education sector, it examined the elements necessary for building a customized student multidimensional analysis system. Referring to the overall configuration and the current state to build multidimensional analysis system utilizing practical profiling, it showed the implementation result of the algorithm applied to each statistical method, and presented the differences and superiority to existing systems. Once the system based on the proposed techniques is built, considering differences of students' needs and abilities and clarifying precise objectives and standards, with the improvement of satisfaction in public education, it is possible not only to reduce expense of prior and private learning but also realize self-directed learning suitable to one's learning ability and aptitude.

  • In this paper, we propose a lava flow simulation program to predict the range of lava flows area and thickness of lava flows during volcanic eruptions. The map information is represented as a 'cell' with observed values per fixed area such as DEM and a lava flow prediction algorithm using a cellular automata model is performed to predict the flow of lava flows. To obtain quantitative data of lava flows, fluid properties of lava flows are defined as Bingham plastic fluid and derived equation is applied to the rules of cellular automata. To verify the program, we use a 30m resolution DEM provided by USGS. We compared simulation results with real lava flows for the Pu'u'O'o crater area in Hawaii, which has erupted since May 24, 2016.

Driving System of 7-Phase BLDC Motor Speed Control by Fuzzy Controller (Fuzzy 제어기를 이용한 7상 BLDC 전동기 속도제어 구동시스템)

  • A BLDC motor with higher number of phases has several advantages, compared to the conventional three-phase BLDC motors. It can reduce the commutation torque ripple and the iron loss without increasing the voltage per phase and increase the reliability and power density. Higher number of phases increase the torque-per-ampere ratio for the same machine volume and output power by widening the electrical conduction period. In this paper, the proposed seven-phase BLDC motor drive system is made into several functional modular blocks, so that it can be easily extended to other ac motor applications: back-EMF block, hysteresis current control block, pwm inverter block, phase current block, and speed/torque control block. Also in a system of BLDC motor drive, the PI controller has been widely used in the speed controller because of the simple implementation. To obtain a good speed response in a general drive system using the PI controller, the high bandwidth of a controller is established. therefore, in this paper, a Fuzzy controller is applied to the 7-phase BLDC motor drive system in order to improve the speed control performance. The Fuzzy controller is compared with a conventional PI controller through the experiment with respect to speed dynamic responses. These experimental results show that the Fuzzy controller of the 7-phase BLDC motor drive system is superior over the conventional PI controller. The algorithm using the Fuzzy controller can improve a comfortable ride in the field of high performance 7-phase BLDC motor drive applications.

  • Information Protection and cryptography technology is developed with if but solved problem of real time processing and secret maintain. Therefore this paper is Proposed new PRN-SEED(Pseudo-Random Number-SEED) for the increasing secret rate and processing rate perform performance analysis with existed other cryptography algorithms. Proposed new PRN-SEED crypto-algorithm increase in the processing rate than existed algorithms use bit and byte mixed operation with RNG(Random Number Generator). PRN-SEED that performs simultaneous operations have higher 1.03 in the processing rate and 2 in the cryptosystem performance than existed cryptosystems. Implementation for PRN-SEED use Synopsys Design Analyser Ver. 1999.10, samsung KG75 library and Synopsys VHDL Debegger. As a simulation result, symmetric cryptosystem DES operate 416Mbps at the 40MHz and Rijndael operate 612Mbps at the 50MHz. PRN-SEED cryptosystem have gate counting 10K and operate 430Mbps at the 40MHz and 630Mbps at the 50MHz.

  • Association rule discovery is a method of mining for the associated item set on large databases based on support and confidence threshold. The discovered association rules can be applied to the marketing pattern analysis in E-commerce, large shopping mall and so on. The association rule discovery makes multiple scan over the database storing large transaction data, thus, the algorithm requiring very high overhead might not be useful in real-time association rule discovery in dynamic environment. Therefore this paper proposes an active candidate set management model based on trigger and incremental update mechanism to overcome non-realtime limitation of association rule discovery. In order to implement the proposed model, we not only describe an implementation model for incremental updating operation, but also evaluate the performance characteristics of this model through the experiment.
