Implementation of a Tone Correction System Through a Visualization of Melody Comparison (멜로디 비교 시각화를 통한 음정 교정 시스템 구현)

  • With the proliferation of digital music, public's interest in music and desire to sing well are increasing. This paper presents the implementation of a tone correction system through a visualization of comparison between music and humming data. For this we extract MIDI note from music and humming data and then design a matching engine using DTW algorithm which is for robust matching results against local timing variation and inaccurate tempo. This system is expected to correct the user's wrong tone by visualization and feedback from the result.

  • This paper presents the novel design, implementation and control of a single-wheel mobile robot that can balance by using air power from ducted fans. All of the motions of the single-wheel mobile robot are actuated by air power instead of motor torques. Using air power allows to reduce the total weight of the robot. The complementary sensor fusion algorithm is introduced to estimate the angle correctly. After several design and development, the robot is tested for balancing in the roll direction and yawing motion. In addition, the balancing control of the robot on a single rope is tested to evaluate the control performance.

  • As the recently proposed JTC has been proven to be effective for implementation of real-time target tracking system, the interest on the electronic support system for the real-time JTC tracker has been increased. Accordingly, we proposed a tracking system which is based on BPEJTC and adaptive the fixed site. But because the EOTS is generally needed in the moving site such as aircraft and vehicles, and there are many different tracking algorithm to adopt the BPEJTC, we present an advanced version of BPEJTC dniver which has synchronization input so as to be used for the target pointer. In addition to the designed system architecture, some experimental results conducted by this system are illustrated.

  • There are a few core technologies to enable high-performance $4^{th}$ generation (4G) broadband wireless communication system. A multiple input multiple output (MIMO) provides high-rate transmission through expended channels by multiple array antennas in both sender and receiver side. Also orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is well-known as the most appropriate technique for high data rate transmission such as Mobile WiMAX and WLAN. Efficient decrease of inter-carrier interference (ISI) and inter-carrier interference (ICI) are the reasons for why OFDM is suitable for high-performance transmission, 4G mobile communication. In this paper, we mainly focus on two of objects, combination between MIMO and OFDM, and OFDM channel simulator using Ray-tracing algorithm. The results of this paper can be used implementation of a Wireless Software Platform for 4G Mobile Communication Systems.

  • This paper presents design and implementation methods of the eye-controlled mouse using the real-time tracking of the three dimensional gazing point. The proposed method is based on three dimensional data processing of eye images in the 3D world coordinates. The system hardware consists of two conventional CCD cameras for acquisition of stereoscopic image and computer for processing. And in this paper, the advantages of the proposed algorithm and test results are described.

  • In this study, we designed a digital fuzzy logic controller based on FPGA and microprocessor for MPPT of the solar power generation system. A fuzzy algorithm to control the power tracking function of a boost converter has been built into the FPGA, and applied to the small scaled solar power generation system. The embodied controller showed a stable operation characteristic with the small output voltage ripple for the intensity change of solar radiation. This result proves that the implementation of the power tracking controller using FPGA is an effective way compared to the existing one using microprocessors.

An Improved Control Approach for DSTATCOM with Distorted and Unbalanced AC Mains

  • This paper presents a new control approach of DSTATCOM (distribution static compensator) for compensation of reactive power, unbalanced loading and harmonic currents under unbalanced non-sinusoidal ac mains. The control of DSTATCOM is achieved using Adaline based current estimator based on LMS algorithm to maintain source currents real and undistorted. The dc bus voltage of voltage source converter (VSC) working as DSTATCOM is maintained at constant voltage using a proportional-integral (PI) controller. The DSTATCOM system alongwith proposed control scheme is modeled in MATLAB to simulate the behavior of the system. The practical implementation of the DSTATCOM is carried out using dSPACE DS1104 R&D controller having TMS320F240 as a slave DSP. Simulated and implementation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the DSTATCOM with Adaline based control to meet the severe load perturbations with different types of loads (linear and non-linear) under distorted and unbalanced AC mains.

  • This work describes a hardware implementation of a precision image tracking system which employs a CCD camera mounted on pan/tilt device. Unknown translation between two successive images of a moving object is estimated by using a generalized least-squares method. Estimated position error obtained by the tracking algorithm is used to drive DC motors built in the pan/tilt device for the camera to follow the image. An experimental result shows a sub-resolution tracking error for a image moving with a uniform velocity.

  • In this paper, we propose the design and implementation of Multi-media Title for the similar figure learning. The algebra problems of mathematics are usually solved by algorithm, but the diagram problems of geometry have various solution methods. This made us educate the students by memorizing the principle and property of diagram. In this paper, we applied the courseware to the students and analyzed the result. Therefore we could notice the possibilities, "f we teach students by using the courseware, we can improve their learning achievement."

  • In this paper, implementation mode image segmentation method for separate image is presented. The method of segmentation image in conventional method, the error are generated by the threshold values. To improve these problem for segmentation image, the calculation of weighting factor using brightness distribution by histogram of stored images are proposed. For safe image of object and laser image, the computed weighting factor is set to the threshold value. Therefore the image erosion and spread are improved, the correct and reliable informations can be measured. In this paper, the system of 3-D extracting information using the proposed algorithm can be applied to manufactory automation, building automation, security guard system, and detecting information system for all of the industry areas.
