철로 역사 건설에 따른 강우 유출수내 비점오염물질의 동적 EMCs 및 처리방안 연구 (Dynamic EMCs and Optimum Treatment Criteria for Stormwater Runoff of a Railway Station)

  • In order to successfully propel the stormwater management program, administration plan of stormwater management is enacted in Spring, 2005. Hereafter, in a newly developing area such as a railway station, the best management practices should be established to control the nonpoint pollutant. Construction of a railway station means the increasing of imperviousness rate and lots of nonpoint pollutant emissions during rainfall. Therefore this research was performed to determine the pollutant EMC and to suggest the possible best management practice for treating nonpoint pollutants from a railway station. The $95\%$ confidence intervals of pollutant EMC were ranged to 69.4-115.2mg/L for TSS, 132.7-190.4mg/L for COD, 5.4-15.1ug/L for Oil & Grease, 4.9-12.4mg/L for TKN and 568.4-620.1ug/L for TP. The first flush criteria was ranged to 5-10mm accumulated rainfall using dynamic EMCs, Also laboratory reactor testing was performed. It shows that Zeolite media is useful for removing the washed-off pollutants from a railway station, especially for metal ions.

  • The control of nonpoint source pollution is essentially needed to successfully perform the Total Maximum Daily Load program. Of the various land uses in the nonpoint source, the paved areas such as a parking lot and a bridge are stormwater intensive land uses because of high imperviousness and high pollutant mass emissions. This research was performed to understand the magnitude and nature of the stormwater emissions with the purposes of quantifying stormwater pollutant concentrations and mass emission rates from a parking lot and a bridge. Two monitoring sites in Kongju city were equipped with an automatic rainfall gages and an automatic flow meter for accumulating the data such as rainfall, water quality and runoff flow rates. This paper will summarize the metal concentration changes during the storm duration and metal EMCs to characterize the concentration profiles in a parking lot and a bridge. Also a new concept, dynamic EMC, will be proposed to find the relationship between EMC and first flush effect. It can be used to determine the economical treatment criteria in best management practices.

XP-SWMM을 이용한 도시화 유역에서의 유출 관리 방안 연구 (Management Scheme of Urbanization Runoff Using XP-SWMM)

  • 최근 급격한 인구증가와 산업화, 도시화로 포장지역의 증가에 따른 불투수지역의 증가로 유역의 유출 특성의 변화를 유발시키고 있다. 도시화 유역의 효율적인 관리를 위해서는 유역에 내할 정확할 지형인자 및 수문 관련 인자들을 추출해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 GIS와 XP-SWMM을 이용하여 안양천유역의 유출분석을 수행하였다. 안양천 유역을 GIS를 이용하여 13개의 소유역으로 분할하고 입력자료를 구축하였다. GIS를 이용하여 지형도로부터 각각의 소유역에 대하여 면적, 경사도, 폭과 하천 각 구간의 길이, 경사도를 얻었고, 토지이용도와 토양도로부터 불투수비, 토지이용상태, 침투능에 내한 정보를 얻었다. 여기서 얻은 결과를 토대로, 안양천 유역에 도시유출 모형인 XP-SWMM을 적용하여 도시화유역의 관리방안을 제시하였다.

금호강 유역의 수문환경에 대한 도시화의 영향: 모형 연구 (Impact of Urbanization on Hydrology of Geumho River Watershed: A Model Study)

  • The Geumho river watershed located in the middle of the Nakdong river has been threatened by high population growth and urbanization. Of concern specifically is the potential impact of future developments in the watershed on the reduction of base flow and the consequent risk of degradation of ecological habitats in Geumho river. Anticipated increase in imperviousness, on the other hand, is expected to elevate flood risk and the associated environmental damage. A watershed hydrology based modeling study is initiated in this study to assist in planning for sustainable future development in the Geumho river watershed. The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) is selected to model the impact of urbanization in the Geumho river watershed on the hydrologic response thereof. The modeling results show that in general the likelihood that the watershed will experience high and low stream flows will increase in view of the urbanization so far achieved.

  • 가진발생장치를 이용한 시멘트 주입공법(CGVM)은 국내에서 개발된 건설 신기술로써 가진된 주입재가 대상지반으로 주입되어 지반보강 효율을 증대시키는 기술이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 CGVM 공법의 현장적용 및 시공효과를 검증하는 것이 목적으로써 2개의 연구지역을 선정한 후 시공 전 후에 대해 표준관입시험과 현장투수시험 및 지구물리탐사 결과를 비교하였다. 표준관입시험을 통한 시공 전 후 비교 결과 N 값이 33.57~60.90% 증가된 것으로 나타났으며 현장투수시험의 경우 시공 후 투수계수가 감소된 것으로 보아 차수효과 및 저수지 제체의 안정성 증대 등을 기대할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 전기비저항탐사 결과 시공 전에 비해 누수로 인한 저비저항대가 관찰되지 않아 그라우팅 효과가 매우 뛰어난 것으로 나타났다.

  • 환경부에서 국내 4대강에 도입한 수질오염총량관리제는 점오염원뿐만 아니라 비점오염원의 관리를 통해 주요 상수원수인 4대강의 수질을 개선하고자 함이다. 비점오염원의 주요 근원은 토지이용이며, 개발사업은 토지이용의 변화를 의미하고 비점오염물질의 유출 증가를 의미한다. 따라서 본 연구는 현재 국내에서 유일하게 수질 오염총량관리제가 도입되어 개발할당량이 주어져 있는 한강수계의 리조트 개발사업에서 개발계획에 따른 토지이용의 변화와 더불어 유출이 증가하는 비점오염물질의 양을 산정함으로써 효율적인 비점오염원 관리방안을 수립하고자 한다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 개발사업 전후의 토지이용에 따른 비점오염물질의 발생 및 배출부하량 변화를 산정하였으며, 이를 근거로 비점오염물질 유출 관리가 요구되는 토지이용을 선정하였다. 또한 그 결과를 이용하여 적정 비점오염물질 관리방안(최적관리방안)을 수립하고자한다.

동적 EMC를 이용한 고속도로 초기우수 처리 기준 산정 (Determination of First Flush Criteria in Highway Stormwater Runoff using Dynamic EMCs)

  • The Ministry of Environment in Korea has introduced Total Pollution Load Management System (TPLMS) in major 4 large rivers to protect the water quality from possible pollutants. In order to successfully achieve the TPLMS, the nonpoint source should be controled by applying the best management practices in highly polluted areas. Of the various nonpoint sources, the highways are stormwater intensive landuses because of its high imperviousness and high pollutant mass emissions. The EMC (Event Mean Concentration) is an important parameter to correctly determine the pollutant mass loadings from nonpoint sources. However, it has wide ranges because of various reasons such as first flush phenomenon, rainfall and watershed characteristics. Even though the EMC is closely related to the first flush phenomenon, the relationship have not proven until present. Therefore, in this paper, the dynamic EMC method will be introduced to clearly make the relationship between EMC and first flush phenomenon. Also by applying the dynamic EMC method to monitored data, we found that the highly concentrated stormwater runoff was washed off within 20~50 minutes storm duration. The first flush criteria for economical treatment was also determined to 5~10 mm (mean=7.4 mm) as a cumulative rainfall.

고속도로 노면유출수의 중금속 유출 특성 및 상관성 (Washoff Characteristics of Metal Pollutants in Highways)

  • The paved areas in nonpoint source are highly polluted landuses because of high imperviousness and high pollutant mass emissions from vehicle activities. Particularly, the metal pollutants are a big issue in the paved area. It is usually washed-off during storms by adsorbing on sediments or soluble status. Therefore, this research was achieved for understanding the characteristics of metal pollutants in stormwater runoff in highways. Five monitoring sites were equipped with an automatic rainfall gage and an automatic flow meter. This manuscripts will summarize the washoff characteristics of metal pollutants and its concentration changes during storms. Usually first flush phenomenon was observed for all of the storm events and visibly confirmed with hydro- and polluto-graphs. Also it was coincided with the tendency of particulates and organic matters. The decrease rate per total reduced amount for metals during initial 30-min storm duration was obtained on 80%. The result may be able to use for determining the economical treatment criteria for stormwater runoff in highways.

교통관련 포장지역 비점오염원에서의 오염물질 유출원단위 산정 (Determination of Pollutant Unit Loads from Various Transportation Landuses)

  • Human activities and land-use practices are intensely widening the urban areas. High impervious surface areas cover much of urban landscapes and are the primary pollutant sources which can lead to water quality and habitat degradation in its watershed. As the urban areas expand, transportation land-use such as parking lots, roads, service areas, toll-gates in highways and bridges also increase. These land-uses are significant in urban pollution due to high imperviousness rate and vehicular activities. To regulate the environmental impacts and to improve the water quality of rivers and lakes, the Ministry of Environment (MOE) in Korea developed the Total Pollution Load Management System (TPLMS) program. The main objective is to lead the watershed for a low impact development. On a local scale, some urban land surfaces can be emitting more pollution than others. Consequently, in urban areas, the unit loads are commonly employed to estimate total pollutant loadings emitted from various land-uses including residential, commercial, industrial, transportation, open lands such as parks and golf courses, and other developed land like parking areas as a result of development. In this research, unit pollutant loads derived specifically from transportation land-uses (i.e. branched out from urban areas) will be provided. Monitoring was conducted over 56 storm events at nine monitoring locations during three years. Results for the unit pollutant loads of transportation land-use are determined to be $399.5kg/km^2-day$ for TSS, $12.3kg/km^2-day$ for TN and $2.46kg/km^2-day$ for TP. The values are higher than those of urban areas in Korean MOE and US highways. These results can be used by MOE to separate the pollutant unit load of transportation landuses from urban areas.

강우시 철로 역사에서 발생하는 비점오염물질의 유출 경향 및 특성 (Characteristics of Washed-off Pollutants from Railway Station During Storms)

It can be successfully performed as controling of nonpoint pollutants from watershed area. Railway stations are stormwater intensive land use because of high imperviousness and high pollutant mass emissions from various activities. Especially the metal pollutants from the railway station were recognized as an important pollutants because of its toxicities. In order to characterize the washed-off pollutants. the monitoring were performed on a railway station during storms. Pollutant concentrations are exponentially decreasing during the storm duration. The 95% confidence interval of pollutant concentrations in an hour storm duration ranges from 61.6 to 115.4mg/L for TSS(mean=88.50mg/L),103.8-244.1mg/L for COD(mean=174 mg/L) and 7.68-17.32mg/L for Oil & Grease(mean=12.5mg/L). The ranges of metals were 39.2-84.0 $\mu\textrm{g}$/L for total Cu(mean=61.6$\mu\textrm{g}$/L), 14.0-25.8$\mu\textrm{g}$/L for total Pb(mean=19.9$\mu\textrm{g}$/L) and 182.2-376.l $\mu\textrm{g}$/L for total Zn(mean=279.2$\mu\textrm{g}$/L). The first flush criteria for best management practices can be suggested to 50% pollutant mass emissions during 30% of the total flow.
