Measurement of Hydraulic Pump Flow Ripple Characteristics Based on the ISO 10767-1 and the Evaluation of the Measuring Accuracy (ISO 10767-1에 기초한 유압 펌프의 유량 맥동 측정 및 정밀도 평가)

  • The source flow ripple and the source impedance in hydraulic pump are characteristic values showing fluid-borne vibration characteristics decisively. We cannot measure these two characteristic values directly, but can measure them by some indirect methods. One representative indirect measuring method is ISO 10767-1. The authors constructed a hardware and a software for the measuring method based on ISO 10767-1. Through the error evaluation of the measured results, accuracy of the measuring method using ISO 10767-1 was examined in detail.

  • Ultrasonic knives have been successfully used for the surgery of many medical fields. However, the conventional ultrasonic knives for surgical operation cannot be controlled its resonant frequency. So if the material to cut has different characteristic impedance then different ultrasonic knife will be needed. Because the optimum driving frequency of ultrasonic knife is different by characteristic impedance of material. In this work, using a frequency variable ultrasonic transducer made of multi-layered PZT vibrator, a frequency controllable ultrasonic knife will be suggested. The design and computation principles will be also derived. For this work, firstly, the characteristics of this ultrasonic knife will be analyzed by transmission line model equivalent circuit, and the free admittance characteristics and vibrational velocity distributions will be obtained. Secondly, we will design and make the frequency controllable electrical oscillator for driving this ultrasonic knife.

  • In High-Speed DSP systems, crosstalk between transmission lines of multi-channel can degrade the performance of equipment operations. This paper presents a microwave board to measure multi-channel coaxial cable assembly. The designed board has good performances from DC to 3 GHz, which have improved characteristic impedance, reduced crosstalk by using via fence, and low transmission loss. Using the designed board, we can measure characteristics of DUT(Device Under Test) such as return loss, insertion loss, crosstalk phase delay, and characteristic impedance. The measured results are used to improve performances of a produced coaxial cable assembly.

  • This paper presents the reach accuracy of a distance relay for protection of transmission line according to power system conditions. The apparent impedance of distance relay is considerably affected by source impedance, load current, power factor, fault point and resistance etc. For protective coordination on the variables power system parameters, trip characteristics of distance relay at sending and receiving terminal are discussed.

  • For the power line communication, we studied its characteristic impedance, noise characteristics, loss characteristics and the coupling circuit between the communication MODEM and power lines. As the results of the experiments, we concluded that the power line impedance in a house varied in the wide range because the electric systems generate the current and voltage hamornic noises.

  • This paper presents a method of obtaining transmission network equivalents from the network's response to the pulse excitation signal. Proposed method is base on Prony signal analysis and jtransfer function identification technique. As a result Thevenin-type of discrete-time filter model can be generated. It can reproduce the driving point impedance characteristic of the network.

  • In this study, we made the system to measure variation of blood flow using bio-electrical impedance analysis method. The system, which could measure variation of impedance according to pressure change by artificial pressure, consists of pressure measurement and impedance measurement by 4-electrode method. Pressure measurement splits into semiconducting pressure sensor and electronic circuit for processing output signal. In addition, impedance measurement splits into constant current source circuit and lock-in amplifier for detection impedance signal. We experimented feature of impedance measurement using standard resistance to evaluate the system characteristic. As well as, we experimented to estimate variation of blood flow by measuring impedance and blood flow resistance ratio using mean arterial pressure and variation of blood flow with experimental group. As result of this study, blood flow resistance ratio and variation of blood flow were definitely in inverse proportion and were -0.96776 as correlation coefficient by correlation analysis.
