선 충격량과 공의 회전 속도와의 상관관계 (Correlation between the Linear Impulse and Ball Spin Rate)

  • Golf ball spin rate after impact with club is created by the contact force, which is greatly influenced by ball and club mass, material, impact speed, and club loft angle. Previous studies showed that the contact force is determined as the resultant force of the reaction forces normal and tangential to the club face at the contact point. The normal force causes the compression and restitution of the ball, and the tangential force creates the spin. Especially, the tangential force takes either positive or negative values as the ball rolls and slides along the club face during impact. Although the positive and negative tangential forces are known to create and reduce the back spin rate, respectively, the mechanism of ball spin creation has not yet been discussed in detail. It is shown in this work that the linear impulse of the tangential force is directly related to generation of back spin rate of golf ball. The linear impulse can be calculated from the tangential force, which depends upon many factors such as ball and club mass, material, impact speed, and club loft angle. In this research, the influence of the contact force between golf club and ball is investigated to analyze the mechanism of impact. For this purpose, the contact force and the contact time at impact between golf club head and ball are computed using FEM.

Experimental Investigation of the Hydrodynamic Characteristics of a Ship due to Bank Effect

  • When a ship moves in the proximity of the lateral bank, bank suction forces are generated due to bank effects. Thus, hydrodynamic forces can significantly impact the ship's maneuverability and navigation safety. In this study, model tests were performed to investigate the hydrodynamic forces exerted on a ship, especially suction forces caused by bank effects, using captive model and bank effect tests. A low-speed condition was selected in this study, because of the perilous situation as the ship moves close to the bank. The accuracy of the hydrodynamic forces exerted on the hull was verified, by comparing the results of the static drift test with the results obtained from other institutes at design speed. The straight simulation caused by bank effects was then implemented using estimated hydrodynamic coefficients.

  • Impact is the most common type of dynamic loading conditions that give rise to impulsive forces and affects the vibrational characteristics of mechanical systems. Since the impact force and response are measured indirectly through the sensors, it is difficult to predict the impact force and acceleration. In this study, contact force model based on the Hertz law is proposed in order to predict the impact force correctly. (omitted)

모형축소실험을 이용한 토석류 방지시설 충격하중 평가 (Estimation of Debris Flow Impact Forces on Mitigation Structures Using Small-Scale Modelling)

  • 본 연구에서는 불투과형 사방댐과 링네트에 가해지는 충격하중을 평가하기 위해 토석류 모형축소실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과, 토석류는 유체와 유사한 거동을 함에 따라 불투과형 사방댐 배면에 가해지는 토석류 충격하중은 하부구간이 4.14 kN로 가장 높게 작용하며 중간, 상부구간이 3.66 kN, 1.66 kN 가해지는 것으로 측정되었다. 링네트 실험결과 또한 불투과형 사방댐 결과와 같이 충격하중은 하부구간이 크며 상부로 갈수록 감소하는 경향을 보인다(2.28 kN, 1.95 kN, 1.49 kN). 수치해석 결과를 이용하여 토석류 흐름에 의한 토석류 방지시설 충격하중 흡수메커니즘을 분석한 결과, 불투과형 사방댐은 콘크리트 옹벽과 같이 구조물 자체의 강성을 이용하여 수평력에 저항하므로 실제 구조물에 작용한 수평력은 이론식과 유사한 결과가 제시되는 반면, 링네트는 강연선 탄성늘음과 네트 전면으로의 입자 투과를 이용하므로 충격하중은 사방댐 결과보다 최대 45% 감소하는 결과가 제시되었다.

  • The motion of an workpiece to be manipulated is determined by the forces applied to the workpiece. During the contact between the robot hand and the workpiece, impulsive forces may dominate all other forces, and determine the ultimate success or failure of a task. Therefore, one of the important problems in the robot hands is the control of the initial impact force. In this paper, the problem of the force control of robot hand under system with contact force is presented. The principle of energy can be applied in the modelling of the impact force. In order to achieve stable contact and avoid bounces and vibrations, VSS is adopted in the design of the contact force controller. Some simulations are carried out for a pushing operation to control the contact force.

  • The driving position of head restraints and the relative risk of neck injury were studied in the computer simulation. MADYMO human model with the detail neck model was used to define the magnitude and direction of internal forces acting on the cervical spine during rear-end impact and to determine the effect of the initial position of the occupant's head with respect to the head restraints. Maximum reaction forces were generated during the head contact to the restraint and relatively large forces were generated at each spinal components in lower cervical spine in proportion to backset and height distance increasement.

  • Static loading and fluid impact tests on plates containing mesh reinforcement and polypropylene fibers in ratios of 0 to 3% by volume were performed. The objective was to observe the effect of fluid mass on the total impulse that caused the impact event and the influence of fiber amount on the impact resistance, and to estimate the velocity of fluid that causes scabbing, perforation or total disintegration. The study is the first to express the fluid impact resistance of polypropylene fiber reinforced concrete plates.

증기발생기 전열관 충격 미끄럼 마모 모델 개발 (Development of Impact-sliding wear model for Steam Generator Tubes)

  • The phenomenon of fretting wear due to the flow-induced vibration in steam generator (SG) tube is a significant degradation mechanism in nuclear power plants. Fretting wear in SG tube is primarily attributed to the friction and impact forces between the SG tube and the tube support structures, experienced during nuclear power plants operation. While the Archard model has generally been used for the prediction of fretting wear in SG tube, it is limited by its linear nature. In this study, we introduced an "Impact Shear Work-rate" (ISW) model, which takes into account the combined effects of impact and sliding. The ISW model was evaluated using existing experimental data on fretting wear in SG tube and was compared against the Archard model. The prediction results using the ISW model were more accurate than those using the Archard model, particularly for impact forces.

클럽별 골프 스윙 시 지면 반력 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study of Ground Reaction Forces During Professional Golfer's Swing with Different Golf Clubs)

  • The purpose of this study was to analysis golf swing in accordance with each club using ground reaction force data. The subject of this study was current professional golf players in Korea. Golf clubs used for this study were driver, iron4, iron7, and pitching. The ground reaction force for left and right foot was collected by one Kistler and one Bertec force platforms. Also collected visual data by NC high speed camera to check the phase which was composed of address, top of backswing, impact and finish. Sampling rate was 600Hz both ground reaction forces data and visual data. The conclusion are as follows. 1. An aspect of change for ground reaction force was that the weight between the left foot and right foot were contrary to each other in general as the phase. 2. Without regard to the type of golf club, the ratio of necessary ground reaction forces for each phase in accordance with address, top of backswing, impact, and finish was comparatively identical. 3. According to the type of golf club, the tendency of Fy was not varied. In terms of Driver, at the moment of impact, the weight of foot-both right and left-was moved to the movement direction of golf because of the rotation force from swing.

평면 두부형상을 갖는 물체의 입수시 충격력 해석 (Analysis of Impact Forces Acting on a Flat Faced Body Entering Water)

  • 물체가 입수시 두부에 큰 충격을 받게 되며 이 충격량은 진입하는 물체의 두부형상이나 입사각에 따라서 많은 차이를 보인다. 본 논문에서는 선수부가 평면 부분을 포함하는 형상을 갖는 물체가 임의 각도 입수시의 충격량을 계산하였다. 선수부가 납작한 부분을 포함하면 임의 각도 입수시 물체의 접수부분이 기하학적으로 복잡해진다. 3차원 물체를 여러 영역으로 분할하여 각 부분을 겹3차 B-spline으로 표시하여 곡면을 정확히 나타낼 수 있도록 하였다. 자유표면 조건은 $\phi=0$을 적용하였으며, 경계치 문제는 Green함수를 이용하여 해석하였다.
