  • Jaw crusher is a device that breaks rock collected from mines or quarries to produce aggregates of the size desired by user. A representative method for measuring load is to measure them by attaching force sensors directly to the part where the load is generated. However, the direct method has many limitations such as high-impact loads generation in equipment or space constraints, sensor capacities and costs. Therefore, Transfer Path Analysis (TPA) was used to indirectly measure impact loads by attaching acceleration sensors. In this study, both direct and TPA methods were used to measure the impact load of Jaw crusher. This study finally quantifies the impact of the load generated by the Jaw crusher using direct method and TPA method, and comparing the impact load measured calculated the derive the error rate.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the physical properties of porous concrete according to the aggregate shape and size which is produced by con crusher and impact crusher. For this purpose, the selected test variables were the aggregate size and shape, the ratio of water to cement and the ratio of paste to aggregate. The results of this study showed that its economic performance and physical properties were improved using the aggregate made by impact crusher. The coefficient of permeability and compressive strength of porous concrete had a close correlationship with the void ratio, and it was suggested as a function of void ratio.

Engineering Properties of Concrete Using Recycled Aggregate Manufactured by Bar-Crusher (봉파쇄기에 의해 제조된 재생굵은골재를 사용한 콘크리트의 공학적 특성)

  • This study investigates engineering properties of concrete using recycled coarse aggregated manufactured by bar-crusher. Test showed that Bar-crusher(S) had more effective results at fresh state than cone-crusher(C) and impact-crusher(I). In case of specimens manufactured by S, increase of spindle velocity, incorporating ratio of recycled aggregate and maximum size of aggregate inclined fluidity. As for the hardened concrete, compressive strength of specimens by C or I exhibited lower value than that of S. In addition, specimens using recycled aggregate manufactured by 400rpm and 500rpm of spindle velocity showed less than 10% reduction rate of strength, which is not significant reducing value. It is found that 500rpm of the spindle velocity had the best strength performance, while 600rpm was the worst. Strength value of specimens decreased as incorporating ratio of recycled aggregate inclined, but the strength value of most specimens exhibited less than 10% of reducing rate, assuming favorable result, only at less than 25% incorporating ratio of recycled aggregate.

  • The aims of this study was to estimate transfer force delivered to cone crusher housing and contribution of force transmission. The rock crushing condition caused vibrations in the cone crusher housing, which were experimentally measured, and frequency response functions (FRF) were also found through modal impact tests. Vibration data and frequency response functions were applied to the transfer path analysis (TPA) model. Next, transfer forces delivered to the cone crusher housing were quantified via the TPA method. Contribution of force transfer was also analyzed based on force estimation results. Finally, this study describes basic concepts and components of the TPA method and reviews its applicability to rotating machinery that experiences impact vibrations and forces.

  • Recently, according to increase use of concrete which is the main material of construction, the natural aggregate of good quality is more and more decreased. Most of all, among the concrete materials, the development of alternation materials of sand is urgently needed. In this study, investigating the production equipment and the sample of crushed sand company and analyzing properties of sand, manufactured mortar by the KS to use crushed sand as the fine aggregate of concrete material. The experiment result is as follows. 1. The density, an absorptivity, and the amount of 0.08mm passage ratio of crushed sand, and the mortar used crushed sand satisfied KS. The mechanical results is similar to sea sand. 2. The crushed sand which used impact crusher instead of cone crusher for 3rd or 4th crusher was similar properties to sea sand, so it is judged that impact crusher has high effect of particle shape improvement of crushed sand.

Quality Properties of Recycled Coarse Aggregate Manufactured by the Bar-Crusher (봉파쇄기로 제조한 재생 굵은골재의 품질특성)

  • In this study, the quality properties of recycled coarse aggregate, manufactured by the barcrusher, were compared to that of aggregate, manufactured by conservative systems. Test showed that recycled coarse aggregate, manufactured by the bar-crusher, had higher density and shape index, and exhibited lower absorption and abrasion ratios, compared with a con-crusher and an impact-crusher. This is due to the peeling-off effect of mortar, attached on recycled aggregate and the improved round shape of that.

FEM was used to analyse the stress and strength of the machine at high rotational speed. The test specimen was made from the same material as the shaft and tension tests were conducted. The shaft under extreme conditions was analysed to determine maximum stress level and its location from the results. The maximum level of stress and its location could be predicted.

  • The amount of construction waste generated is steadily increasing every year, and the Law for Promotion of Recycling is enacted. However, it is difficult to use it as a recycled aggregate for concrete, which is presented in the quality standard of recycled aggregate with high water uptake and low density due to low separation of aggregate between concrete and cement paste. Therefore, in this study, a multi-stage impact crusher was used to remove mortar, which is essential for improving the quality of recycled aggregate. In analyzing the characteristics of the equipment, the spectrum of energy generated in each part between the particle and the equipment was calculated by using DEM. In order to generate an effective separation phenomenon, it was confirmed that the operation condition of 900 RPM was appropriate based on the ratio of the number of collisions (L/H) of the low energy group (L) to the number of collisions of the high energy group (H).
