Mutimedia Mail Authoring System Providing Message Integration (메시지 통합성을 제공하는 멀티미디어 메일 저작 시스템)

  • E-mail system has been widely used for information transmission. As multimedia technologies are developed, many Internet services support multimedia. E-mail system only transmits 7bit ASCII data using simple mail transfer protocol(SMTP) specified in RFC 821. E-mail system can't support the authoring and the transmission of multimedia data. In this study multimedia mail authoring system has been designed and implemented in order to provide message integration. Multimedia messages can be authored and transformed into text types with this system. Transformed messages are transmitted from sender's mail transfer agent (MTA) to receiver's MTA by means of SMTP. Messages can be authored in hypertext markup language (HTML) including text, image, audio and video. This system provides integrated messages which consist or various media. BASE64 Encoding method is used in order to transform multimedia messages into text types. Received mails are managed by multimedia user agent (MUA) which is proposed in this study. Convenience for user is improved in this system.

  • Nowadays, web defacement becomes the utmost threat which can harm the target organization's image and reputation. These defacement activities reflect the hacker's political motivation or his tendency. Therefore, the analysis of the hacker's activities can give the decisive clue to pursue criminals. A specific message or photo or music on the defaced web site and the outcome of analysis will be supplying some decisive clues to track down criminals. The encoding method or used fonts of the remained hacker's messages, and hacker's SNS ID such as Twitter or Facebook ID also can help for tracking hackers information. In this paper, we implemented the web defacement analysis system by applying CBR algorithm. The implemented system extracts the features from the web defacement cases on zone-h.org. This paper will be useful to understand the hacker's purpose and to plan countermeasures as a IDSS(Investigation Detection Support System).

  • This paper proposes a algorithm to extract the variety region (object) from video for the real-time encoding of MPEG-4 based. The previous object segmentation methods cannot used the videophone or videoconference required by real-time processing. It is difficult to transfer a video to real-time because it increased complexity for the operation of each pixel on the spatial segmentation and temporal segmentation method proposed by MPEG-4 Working Group. But algorithm proposed for this thesis not operates a pixel unit but operates a macro block unit. Thus this enables real-time transfer. But this algorithm cannot extract several object for a image using proposed algorithm as previous algorithm. On system constructed by encoder and decoder. A proposed algorithm inserted for encoder as pre-process.

An Efficient Polygonal Approximation Method in the Rate-Distorion Sense (비트량-왜곡을 고려한 효율적인 다각형 근사화 기법)

  • This paper proposes an efficient method for encoding the shape information of the object in the image. The polygonal approximation method is categorized into a loss coding method and is widely used for approximating object's shape information. The proposed method selects less number of vertices than IRM (iterated refinement method) or PVS (progressive vertex selection) when the maximum distortion is given, so reduces the bit-rates. The proposed method selects the vertices of a polygon with a simple and efficient method considering the rate-distortion sense. We construct the shape information coder, which shows the outstanding performance in the rate-distortion sense, based on the conventional progressive vertex selection method and the new vertex selection condition that we propose in this paper. Simulation results show that the proposed method has better performance than other conventional vertex selection methods in the tate-distortion sense.

  • Recently, OGC(Open Geospatial Consortium) take the lead in SWE(Sensor Web Enablement) research that collection various context information from sensor networks and show it on map by web. OGC SWE WG(Working Group) defines a standard encoding about realtime spatiotemporal appear geographical feature, sensing data and support web services. This paper proposes a visualization scheme of sensing data based location on 2D maps. We show realtime sensing data on moving node that mapping GPS data on map. First, we present an algorithm and procedure that location information change to position of maps for visualization sensing data based on 2D maps. For verifying that algorithm and scheme, we design and implement a program that collecting GPS data and sensing data, and displaying application on 2D maps. Therefore we confirm effective visualization on maps based on web which realtime image and sensing data collected from sensor network.

  • An efficient quantization and encoding of BTC (Block Truncation Coding) parameters {($Y_{\alpha},\;Y_{\beta}),\;P_{{\beta}/{\beta}}$} are investigated, In our algorithm 4${\times}$4 blocks are classified into flat or edge block. While edge block is represented by two approximation level $Y_{\alpha},\;Y_{\beta}$ with label plane $P_{{\beta}/{\beta}}$, flat block is represented by single approximation level Y. The approximation levels Y, $Y_{\alpha}$ and $Y_{\beta}$ are encoded by predictive quatization specially designed, and the label plane $P_{{\beta}/{\beta}}$ is tried to be encoded using stored 32 reference plantes. The performance of the proposed scheme has appeared comparable to much more complex transform coding in terms of SNR, although it requires more study on the representation of small slope in background.

  • Optical images on the porous silicon exhibiting Febry-Perot fringe pattern have been prepared by using an electrochemical etching of p-type silicon wafer (boron-doped,<100> orientation, resistivity $0.8{\sim}1.2m{\Omega}-cm$) and beam projector. The images remained in the substrate displayed an optical images correlating to the optical pattern and could be useful for optical data storage. A decrease in the effective optical thickness of the Febry-Perot layers was observed, indicative of a change in refractive index induced by exposing of porous silicon to the white light. This provides the ability to fabricate complex optical encoding in the surface of silicon.

  • This paper describes an error resilient video data transmission method using information hiding. In order to localize transmission errors in receiver, video encoder embeds one bit for a macro block during encoding process. Embedded information is detected during decoding process in the receiver, and the transmission errors can be localized by comparing the original embedding data. The localized transmission errors can be easily corrected, thus the degradation in a reconstructed image can be alleviated. Futhermore, the embedded information can be applied to protect intellectual property rights of the video data. Experimental results for 3 QCIF sized video sequenced composed of 150 frames respectively show that, while degradation in video streams in which the information is embedded is negligible, especially in a noisy channel, the average PSNR of reconstructed images can be improved about 5 dB by using embedded information. Also, intellectual property rights information can be effectively obtained from reconstructed images.

  • When up-scaling algorithms for visible light images are applied to infrared (IR) images, they rarely work because IR images are usually blurred. In order to solve such a problem, this paper proposes an up-scaling algorithm for IR images. We employ adaptive dynamic range encoding (ADRC) as a simple classifier based on the observation that IR images have weak details. Also, since human visual systems are more sensitive to edges, our algorithm focuses on edges. Then, we add pre-processing in learning phase. As a result, we can improve visibility of IR images without increasing computational cost. Comparing with Anchored neighborhood regression (A+), the proposed algorithm provides better results. In terms of just noticeable blur, the proposed algorithm shows higher values by 0.0201 than the A+, respectively.

  • In this paper, we propose a real-time stereoscopic display system based on H.264/AVC. We initially acquire stereo-view images from stereo web-cam using OpenCV library. The captured images are converted to YUV 4:2:0 format as a preprocess. The input files are encoded by stereo-encoder, which has a proposed estimation structure, with more than 30 fps. The encoded bitstream are decoded by stereo-decoder reconstructing left and right images. The reconstructed stereo images are postprocessed by stereoscopic image synthesis technique to offer users more realistic images with 3D effect. Experimental results show that the proposed system has better encoding efficiency compared with using a conventional stereo CODEC(coder and decoder) and operates with real-time processing and low complexity suitable for an application with a mobile environment.
