  • In this paper, the well-conditioned observer is designed to be insensitive to the ill-conditioning factors in transient and steady-state observer performance. A condition number based on 12-norm of the eigenvector matrix of the observer matrix has been proposed on a principal index in the observer performance. For the well-conditioned observer design, the non-normality measure and the observability condition of the observer matrix are utilized. The two constraints are specified into observer gain boundary region that guarantees a small condition number and a stable observer. The observer gain selected in this region guarantees a well-conditioned and observable property. In this study, this method is applied to the Luenberger observer and Kalman filters for small order systems. In designing Kalman filters, the ratio of the process noise covariance to the measurement noise covariance is a design parameter and its effect on the condition number is investigated.

  • In this paper, the well-conditioned observer is designed to be insensitive to the ill-conditioning factors in transient and steady-state observer performance. A condition number based on $L_2-norm$ of the eigenvector matrix of the observer matrix has been proposed on a principal index in the observer performance. For the well-conditioned observer design, the non-normality measure and the observability condition of the observer matrix are utilized. The two constraints are specified into observer gain boundary region that guarantees a small condition number and a stable observer. • This paper present experimental results of source identification for non-minimum phase system. Generally, a causal linear system may be described by matrix form. The inverse problem is considered as a matrix inversion. Direct inverse method can\`t be applied for a non-minimum phase system, the reason is that the system has ill-conditioning. Therefore, in this study to execute an effective inversion, SVD inverse technique is introduced. In a Non-minimum phase system, its system matrix may be singular or near-singular and has one more very small singular values. These very small singular values have information about a phase of the system and ill-conditioning. Using this property we could solve the ill-conditioned problem of the system and then verified it for the practical system(cantilever beam). The experimental results show that SVD inverse technique works well for non-minimum phase system.

  • Multicollinearity is a common problem in linear regression models when two or more regressors are highly correlated, which yields some serious problems for the ordinary least square estimates of the parameters as well as model validation and interpretation. In this paper, first the problem of multicollinearity and its subsequent effects on the linear regression along with some important measures for detecting multicollinearity is reviewed, then the role of eigenvalues and eigenvectors in detecting multicollinearity are bolded. At the end a real data set is evaluated for which the fitted linear regression models is investigated for multicollinearity diagnostics.

  • In active noise control filter, LMS algorithms which used for control filter, assure the convergence property, and computational burden of these algorithms are proportionate to the filter taps. The convergence speed of LMS algorithms is mainly determined by value of the convergence coefficient, so optimal selection of the value of convergence coefficient is very important. In this paper, We proposed novel adaptive fuzzy logic LMS algorithms with FIR filter structure which has better convergence speed and less computational burden than conventional LMS algorithms, for single channel active noise control with ill conditioned signal case. Computer simulations were performed to show the effectiveness of a proposed algorithms.

  • In an active noise control systems, an IIR filter may cause a problem in stability beacause of its poles. For IIR filter, its poles goes sometimes out of a unit circle in a z-plane in the transition state, where the adaptive algorithm converges to the optimum value, which causes the system to diverge. Fuzzy LMS algorithm has a better convergence property than conventional LMS algorithms, but is not applicable to IIR filter because of the reasons. Stabilized adaptive algorithm could be improves stability by moving the pole of IIR filer toward the origin forcibly in the transient state, and by introducing forgetting factor to maintain the optimum convergence when it reaches to the steady state. In this paper, We proposed stabilized adaptive fuzzy LMS algorithms with IIR filter structures, for single channel active noise control with ill conditioned signal case. Computer simulations were performed to show the effectiveness of a proposed algorithm.
