  • We make use of the simplified Hirota's bilinear method with computer symbolic computation to study a variety of coupled potential KdV (pKdV) equations. Each coupled equation is completely integrable and gives multiple soliton solutions and multiple singular soliton solutions. The phase shifts for all coupled pKdV equations are identical whereas the coefficients of the obtained solitons are not identical. The four coupled pKdV equations are resonance free.

  • The model of k-out-of n : G repairable system with identical components is extended to a repairable system with n different components. The objective is to analytically derive the mean time of the busy period for a k-out-of-n : G system with unrestricted repair. Then, the lower and upper bounds on the average time of the busy period of the n-component system with restricted repair are also shown.

  • A new statistical linearization technique for nonlinear system called covariance matching method is proposed in this paper. The covariance matching method makes the mean and variance of an approximated output be identical real functional output, and the distribution of the approximated output have identical shape with a given random input. Also, the covariance matching method can be easily implemented for statistical analysis of nonlinear systems with a combination of linear system covariance analysis.

  • The aim of this work is to generalize reliability equivalence techniques to apply them to a system consists of two independent and non-identical components connected in series(parallel) system, that have constant failure rates. We shall improve the system by using one component only. We start by establishing two different types of reliability equivalence factors, the survival reliability equivalence (SRE) and mean reliability equivalence (MRE) factors. Our second studies, introducing some applications for our studies in airports and our life. Also, we introduced some numerical results.

  • Synchronization phenomena of chaos observed in a dual-structured system is presented. The system is consisting of two identical piecewise-linear systems and the simple coupling between the two systems enables the synchronization of the chaotic behavior. An application of the proposed dual-structure to a real power system for the parameter value identification is also presented.

  • In a digital communication system, the transmission channel may introduce error into the digital signal being transmitted. It would be useful if a process could be devised so that the error could be removed in order to recover the transmitted digital signal. We design a corrective filter that is inverse filter, which will generate an output signal identical to the input signal. in order for two systems connected in cascade to produce an output which is identical to the input signal, the over-all unit sample response of the cascade connection must be a unit sample function.

  • Various useful relations involving Hammett's and $Br{\phi}nsted's$ coefficients are derived for cross interactions between identical groups: ${\rho}_{ii}={\rho}^N+{\rho}^L$, ${\rho}^L-{\rho}^N=1$, ${\beta}_{ii}={\beta}_N+{\beta}_L$ and ${\beta}_N-{\beta}_L=1$. The use of these relations enable us to correctly interprete the transition state structure. Another advantage of the use of these relations is to use ${\rho}/{\rho}_e$ for the determination of corresponding ${\beta}$ values instead of plotting log k vs $pK_{lg}$, once ${\rho}_e$ values for standardizing equilibria are obtained.

  • Many species in Gymnodiniales, which are unarmored dinoflagellates, are responsible for marine algal blooms and some of them have potent toxin in the cell. Their taxonomy has so far been well-defined, and several genera (e.g. Akashiwo, Gymnodinium, Karenia) have recently been re-described. In Korea, few works have been carried out on their taxonomical and molecular studies. This study focused on comparison of both morphological and molecular characteristics of five unarmored dinoflagellates on Korean coastal water: Akashiwo sanguinea, Cochlodinium polykrikoides, Gymnodinium catenatum, Gymnodinium impudicum and Karenia aureolum (=K. mikimotoi). Morphological characteristics observed here was in good accordance with the original descriptions of individual species. In addition, none of difference was found in morphological comparisons between the Korean and foreign strains. Furthermore, molecular analysis showed that the SSU rDNA sequences were generally identical according to each species. In some distinct features, A. sanguinea, which has generally the same morphological features, were divided into two groups: one was Korean isolates including European isolates, the other was American isolates. In the two groups, the nucleus was positioned differently: middle of the cells in the Korean isolates (GnSg02, GnSg03), near the epicone in American isolates (CCMP1593, CCMP1837). In addition, this was strongly supported by phylogenetic analysis, inferred from the SSU rDNA sequences. K. aureolum (GrAr01) was corresponded to European G. aureolum (=K. mikimotoi) in shape and position of nucleus, chloroplast, however, which is similar to K. digitata in view of having a finger-like sulcus. This was in good agreement with phylogenetic study of these species. G. catenatum have identical morphology except the ridge location, and their genotype of SSU rDNA was also identical to GenBank data of the same species. From this study, we found that the five Korean unarmored dinoflagellates are identical morphological characteristics and genotype to each species of foreign isolates.

  • The purpose of this study is to grasp the characteristics by image type in interior color. This experiment is carried out by the evaluation method of color simulation with the color image processor. And the result of this experimental evaluation is analyzed quantitatively by HAYASI 1 Program. The results of this analysis are as follows : 1) In casual and clear images, the most main colors are GY, PB, Y , and N, Casual image has high chroma and the most arrangement of colors is hue-contrast or contrast -harmony with white. Also the main colors of clear image are in identical or similar harmony with the hues of floor. 2) In romantic, elegant, pretty, and gorgeous images, the most main colors are GY, RP, R , YR and Y and the most arrangement of colors is identical or similar harmony. The romantic image of pastel tone is wholly lighter than the pretty image of bright tone. And elegant image is lower in chroma than romantic images, so generally dark. Also gorgeous image is the vivid tone with high chroma. 3) In chic and modern images, the main colors are the hues of B, PB, high value and low chroma with bright tone. Also, the main colors are in identical or similar harmony with the hues of floor : BG , B, PB and P. 4) In natural and semiclassic images, the main color is the warm color of Y, YR and the most arrangement of colors is identical or similar harmony. Also Semiclassic images is the dull tone with middle value and middle chroma and darker tone than natural image. 5) In dynamic image, the main color is the hue of N, Y, PB and GY and most of color is high chroma. And the most arrangement of colors is value-contrast.
