Molecular Cloning of Chicken Major Histocompatibility Complex Class II Molecules

  • The chicken major histocompatibility complex (MHC), the B complex, is beginning to be analyzed at the DNA level. Inbred lines of chickens have been reported to possess 3~5 MHC class II genes. To further analyzed the molecular structure of the chicken MHC class II genes, cDNA clones coding for chicken MHC class II (B-L) ${\beta}$ chain molecules were isolated from chicken spleen and liver. Tissue-specific transcription of B-L ${\beta}$genes was studied by Northern blot analysis. A high level of expression was detected for spleen poly(A)$^+$ RNA whereas a faint signal was detected for liver poly(A)$^+$ RNA. Twenty-nine cDNA clones were isolated from the spleen and eight cDNA clones were isolated from the liver. Based on restriction maps, most clones could be clustered into one family of genes. Four cDNA clones were sequenced (S7, S10 and S19 from the spleen and L1, which was identical to S19, from the liver). Complete amino acid sequences of B-L ${\beta}$ chain molecules were predicated from the nucleotide sequences of the cDNA clones. Although both the nature and the location of the conserved residues were similar in chicken and mammalian sequences, some species-specific differences were found, suggesting that the structures of the B-L molecules are similar, but not identical to their mammalian counterparts.

해외시장에서의 한국 패선상표 등록에 관한 연구 -중국시장의 사례를 중심으로- (The Study on the Trademark Registrations of Korean Fashion Firms in Overseas Countries -Focused on the Case of Chinese Market-)

  • This study was purposed to analyse the registration of Korean Fashion brands in China and to point out problems by the registration of analogous trademarks to Korean brand names. List of total 137 Korean national brands were used to collect trademarks in Chinese Trademark Office and each trademark was analysed by the nationally and the date of registration. Analogy of registered trademarks were classified by the common traits. In Result, only 61 Korean national brands were registered by Korean fashion firms in China and 37 Korean national brands were registered by Chinese firms or individuals in the same product classification or in the similar fashion product classification. And 22 Korean national brands out of 61 registered by Korean firms were also registered by Chinese firms, which may lead confusion and misidentification to Chinese consumers. Pre-registration by the Chinese firms f9r analogous or identical trademarks of the Korean fashion brand names in analogous product classification should be a serious entry barrier to Chinese market.

매미나방(Lymantria dispar L.)의 저장단백질에 관한 연구 (A Study of Storage Protein in Lymantria dispar L.)

  • 두 종류의 저장단백질이 매미나방의 발생기간동안 혈림프와 지방체에서 발견되었다. SPl은 분자량이 440,000이며 6개의 동일한 subunit으로 구성되어 있다. 또한 SPl은 당과 지질을 함유한 복합단백질이며 그 등전점은 6.2이었다. SPl은 암수 모두 종령기간동안 비슷한 고농도를 보여 주었지만 번데기시기에는 암수가 상이한 패턴을 보여주었다. 즉 SPl은 수컷에서 점진적 감소를 보여준 반면 암컷에서는 점진적 증가를 보여주었다. SPl은 면역학적으로 난황단백질과 동일성을 보여 주었고, 미국흰불나방과 꿀벌부채나방의 저장단백질과 부분적인 동질성을 보여주었다.

  • 서로 다른 위상지연각을 가지는 두 개의 위상판을 중첩하여 4분파장 위상지연자로 구동시키기 위한 필요조건을 찾고 선편광자와 이들 위상판들의 방위각이 만족해야할 관계식들을 위상지연각들의 함수로 해석적으로 유도하였다. 해석적인 방법으로 구한 각도 관계식들과 Poincare 구상에서의 자취분석을 통해 구한 각도 관계식들이 동일함을 확인하였고 동일한 두 개의 위상판을 사용할 경우 몇가지 응용예를 제시하였다.

단위 측면에서 연산에 관한 소고 (A Study on the Operation in Terms of Unit)

  • The mathematics has moved toward the independence from unit. However, is this tendency also kept up in teaching and learning mathematics? This study starts from this question. We have illuminated this question in respects of a character of unit operation, an essential probability of unit operation and a didactical application of unit. As results, addition and subtraction are operations on identical objects and the result of operation does not also get out of operation's object. On the other hand, multiplication and division are operations on both identical objects and different objects. And the result of operation can generate new unit. We proposed a hypothesis which multiplication and division are transcendental operations from this analysis. The unit operation is not possible essentially. It seems only like unit operation is possible superficially by operational definition on unit. We could discuss on a didactical application of unit from above analysis. And we could deduct implications that the direction of developing mathematic does not necessarily match with the direction of teaching and learning mathematics.

한국에서 분리된 소 바이러스성 설사 바이러스의 병리생물학적 분석 (Pathobiological Analysis of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus Identified in the Republic of Korea)

  • 계통발생 및 염기서열분석시 한우 송아지에서 중증의 급성 소 바이러스성 설사 바이러스 발생은 BVDV-2a에 속한 것으로 나타났고, BVDV-2 균주 890과는 독성 마커가 동일하였으며, 독성이 높은 것으로 분류되었다. 이들 BVDV 발생은 어린 송아지(20-40일령)에 주로 감염되었고, 임상증상으로 출혈성 설사, 침울, 식욕감퇴, 허약을 특징으로 하였다. 한우 송아지에서 고독성 BVDV-2의 발견은 역학조사, 진단 및 예방접종 전략에 중요한 영향을 내포한다.

길이가 다른 두 개의 축방향 관통균열이 동일선상에 존재하는 증기발생기 세관의 균열 합체 압력 (Coalescence Pressure of Steam Generator Tubes with Two Different-Sized Collinear Axial Through-Wall Clacks)

  • To maintain the structural integrity of steam generator tubes, 40% of wall thickness plugging criterion has been developed. The approach is for the steam generator tube with single crack, so that the interaction effect of multiple cracks can not be considered. Although, recently, several approaches have been proposed to assess the integrity of steam generator tube with two identical cracks whilst actual multiple cracks reveal more complex shape. In this paper, the coalescence pressure of steam generator tube containing multiple cracks of different length is evaluated based on the detailed 3-dimensional (3-D) elastic-plastic finite element (FE) analyses. In terms of the crack shape, two collinear axial through-wall cracks with different length were considered. Furthermore, the resulting FE coalescence pressures are compared with FE coalescence pressures and experimental results for two identical collinear axial through-wall cracks to quantify the effect of crack length ratio on failure behavior of steam generator tube with multiple cracks. Finally, based on 3-D FE results, the coalescence evaluation diagrams were proposed.

OFDM 신호의 PAPR 감소를 위한 저복잡도의 SLM-PRSC 결합 기법 (A Low Complexity SLM-PRSC Hybrid Scheme for OFDM PAPR Reduction)

  • In this paper, to improve OFDM PAPR reduction performance of the conventional SLM method, we propose an effective SLM-PRSC hybrid scheme based on the repeated utilization of identical PRSC sequences in time domain. In the proposed scheme, after performing the SLM for the frequency domain OFDM symbol excluding the pre-determined PRSC positions, the final SLM-PRSC hybrid sequence with the lowest PAPR, which is generated by adding the time domain PRSC sequence to the results of the SLM is selected as the transmitted OFDM symbol. In particular, since the identical PRSC sequences generated a priori are repeatedly used for every OFDM symbol, excessive IFFT calculations are avoided. Moreover, the selected PRSC symbols in the frequency domain may be utilized as an overhead information for the SLM. Simulation results reveal that the proposed SLM-PRSC hybrid scheme can remarkably improve the PAPR reduction performance of the conventional SLM, while avoiding excessive increase of IFFT and PAPR calculations and the overhead for the SLM.

Dynamic Analysis of Multiple-Body Floating Platforms Coupled with Mooring Lines and Risers

  • In this study, the program to investigate the multiple body interaction effects between a floating platform and a shuttle tanker considering the coupled effect of hull (FPSO) with mooring lines and risers was developed. The coupled analysis program, which is called WINPOST-MULT using the hydrodynamic analysis results by WAMIT, was made. For the verification of WINPOST-MULT by means of numerical experiments, two multiple-body models of an FPSO-FPSO and an FPSO-shuttle tanker system are adopted. With the FPSO-FPSO model and a two-mass-spring system to idealize two identical bodies for the 100-year storm wave condition in GOM, the numerical simulations were performed to investigate the interaction effects between two identical bodies. For the more reality, the coupled analysis for the FPSO-shuttle tanker model in the tandem arrangement was carried out in the consideration of the environmental condition of the West Africa Sea as a rather mild condition. Through the case studies with interaction effect and without interaction effect by the iteration method and the combined method, it is verified that the program is a very useful tool for the analysis of the interaction problem of multiple-body system and the coupled problem of the hull/mooring/riser.

튀김과정에서의 변성유생성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the process of the rancidity of frying oil)

  • The followings are the results of the study on decomposition of oil during the process of frying hot-dogs with soybean oil. First, the oil was heated repeatedly for six days, four hours two session per day. Then the oil was observed when heated under identical condition except for the exclusion of the frying ingredients. And the oil itself was heated constantly for a period of 48 hours. 1. The AV and Carbonyl Value of all frying oils increased with each use (but the oil in which frying ingredients with all other oils) 2. All frying oils showed a tendency to increase initially, then decrease their POV and TBA Number during their heating process. 3. The IV of all oils showed a slight decrease except for oil with frying ingredients added, with showed a substantial decrease. 4. Oil with frying ingredients showed a substantial increase in its oxidized fatty acid level, and others showed a tendency to increase according to the frying time. Decomposition of soybe an oil during the process of frying hot-dogs was studied. Three treatment was performed first, the oil was heated (with hot-dogs) repeatedly four hours in each session, two sessions per day for six days. Second, the oil was heated without hot-dogs under identical condition, Third, the oil was heated constantly for 48 hours.
