  • A non-parametric procedure is presented for testing exponentially against used better than aged in convex ordering class (UBAC) of life distributions based on u-test. Convergence of the proposed statistic to the normal distribution is proved. Selected critical values are tabulated for sample sizes 5(5)40. The Pitman asymptotic relative efficiency of my proposed test to tests of other classes is studied. An example of 40 patients suffering from blood cancer disease demonstrates practical application of the proposed test.

  • The current study assumes that the net effect of rewards on creativity is determined by interactions of motivational and cognitive properties conveyed by rewards when rewards are actually delivered. To test this hypothesis, experimental research was manipulated with 81 fourth-grade elementary students in Seoul, Korea, consisted of two sessions separated by a one-week interval. Data analyses pointed out that the changes of the creativity performance cannot be explained by the motivational changes and, in general, supported the hypothesis proposed in this study.

  • A multivariate statistic based on interdirection is proposed for detecting dependence among many vectors. The asymptotic distribution of the proposed statistic is derived under the null hypothesis of independence. Also we find the asymptotic distribution under the alternatives contiguous to the null hypothesis, which is needed for later use of computing relative efficiencies.

  • In 2005 Kadiri proved that the Riemann zeta function ${\zeta}(s)$ does not vanish in the region $$Re(s){\geq}1-\frac{1}{R_0\;{\log}\;{\mid}Im(s){\mid}},\;{\mid}Im(s){\mid}{\geq}2$$ with $R_0=5.69693$. In this paper we will show that $R_0$ can be taken $R_0=5.68371$ using Kadiri's method together with Platt's numerical verification of Riemann Hypothesis.

  • This study provides a nonparametric procedure for the statistical inference of the parameters in stationary autoregressive processes. A confidence region and a hypothesis testing procedure based on a class of signed linear rank statistics are proposed and the asymptotic distributions of the test statistic both underthe null hypothesis and under a sequence of local alternatives are investigated. Some desirable asymptotic properties including the asymptotic relative efficiency are discussed for various score functions.

  • In this paper we propose a poll system n the internet. This system expects to increase the confidence of the internet poll results by sampling theory(proportional allocation). This system provides a cross-tale and result of hypothesis test which plays an important role for decision making. These results do offer a few statistical packages(such as SAS, SPSS) in the world wide web.

  • This study suggests two hypotheses and verifies them. First hypothesis is that discriminant analysis which is a statistical technique can be used to classify documents on the subject of organic chemistry by nine subareas. Second hypothesis is that discriminant analysis is superior to cluster analysis in classifing objects by fixed categories.

  • In teaching statistics, the part which is very important but difficult to understand to the students is estimation and hypothesis testing. This paper introduces the developed program about estimation and hypothesis testing by using Excel Macro. This program will help learners to study and use a statistical inference conveniently, and to get a good learning effect.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the lead-lag relationship between volatility and returns in high frequency stock market data to see the validity of two hypotheses that explain volatility asymmetry. Specifically, wavelet analysis is applied to decompose the volatility process into permanent and transitory components and then each component is investigated in conjunction with returns. The results from cross-correlation analysis between volatility and returns support the leverage effect hypothesis rather than the volatility feedback hypothesis in all cases.

  • This paper proposes a new nonparametric test for testing the null hypothesis that the MRL is constant against the alternative hypothesis that the MRL is decreasing (increasing) for ramdomly censored data. The proposed test statistic is a L-statistic, and we use L-statistic theory to establish its asymptotic normality of the test statistic. We discuss the efficiency loss due to censoring and also calculate the asymptotic relative efficiencies of our test statistic with respect to the Chen, Hollander and Langberg's test for several alternatives.
