In this paper, the frequency response characteristics of the velocity controlled EHS system obtained by linear simulation method, nonlinear simulation method, and experimentation are compared one another, in order to verify propriety of the linearization method in case of analysis of hydraulic systems. The Bode diagrams are obtained by transforming time domain data of experimental results and nonlinear simulated ones with Fourier transform. The results of nonlinear simulation are more similar to the frequency response of the real systems than those of linear simulation. It is found that nonlinearity of hydraulic systems is mainly occurred from servo valve, and nonlinearity is increased as displacement of servo valve spool increases.
An in-process method of diagnosing the spool wear of hydraulic servovalves was explored. The diagnostic method discussed in this paper is for force-control hydraulic servo systems. The key principle used is that pressure sensitivity of a servovalve drops as the valve spool wears out so that it is possible to determine the spool condition by monitoring pressure sensitivity. A diagnostic algorithm was developed and evaluated through numerical simulation and experiments. Two major steps of diagnosis are the evaluation of null bias of the servovalve and the approximation of pressure sensitivity, both of which could be successfully done during normal operation of a servo system. The difference between a new servovalve and a worn valve could be clearly detected in-process, and the diagnostic test was found to be repeatable.
PWM control is a kind of nonlinear control. The merits of PWM control of hydraulic equipment are the robustness of the high speed on-off valve and its low price. And it is easily implemented to hydraulic equipments with microcomputer. The high speed on-off valve is directly digitally controlled without any D/A converter. The objectives of this study is to analyze the limit cycle which regularly appear in the position control system using high speed on-off valve, and to give a criterion for the stability of this system. To do this, the nonlinear characteristics of PWM and cylinder friction of this system are described by harmonic linearization and the effects of parameter variations to the system stability are examined theoretically and experimentally. Consequently, the availability of the proposed method is confirmed well.
The underwater launch system using an ATP consists of five parts: compressor tank, proportional flow control servo valve, expulsion spool valve, air turbine pump, and discharge tube. The purpose of this study is to develop an underwater launch system using an ATP and to verify the validity of the system. The proportional flow control servo valve is modeled as a 2nd order transfer function. The projectile is ejected by pressurized water through the air turbine pump, which is controlled by expulsion valve. The mathematical model is derived to estimate the dynamic characteristics of the system, and the important design parameters are derived by using simulations. The computer simulation results show the dynamic characteristics and the possibility of control for underwater launch system.
For the design of synergistic hydraulic motion simulator, the load locus method is introduced. The given mass property of load and its velocity profile is resolved into the load locus of each actuator which decides the suitable valve and cylinder. This asymmtic cylinder and 4 way valve system have the pressure oscillation on zero velocity. The variable structure position controller which based on linearized flow equation makes elimination of the unstable pressure oscillation.
This paper presents the road simulator control technology for reproducing the road input signal to implement the real road data. The simulator consists of the hydraulic pump, servo valve, hydraulic actuator and its control equipment. The QFT is utilized to control the simulator effectively. The control system illustrates a tracking performance of the closed-loop controller with low order transfer function G(s) and pre-filter F(s) for a parametric uncertain model. A force controller is designed to communicate the control signal between simulator and digital controller. The efficacy of the QFT force controller is verified through the numerical simulation, in which combined dynamics and actuation of the hydraulic servo system are tested. The simulation results show that the proposed control technique works well under uncertain hydraulic plant system. The conventional software (Labview) is used to make up for the real controller in the real-time basis, and the experimental works show that the proposed algorithm works well for a single road simulator.

Tracking specification is satisfied with upper and lower bound tolerances on the steep response of the system to the reference signal. Turbine power control devices at a nuclear / thermoelectric power plant lead to failure by creating mechanical shocks and strong vibrations that are due to the strong elasticity of a spring and the inertia of the valve face during its rapid movement to block steam. To ensure durability of the turbine power control device, which is the main component in the power plant, it is necessary to develop a device that can prevent such vibrations. In this study, a cushion mechanism is added to the head of the hydraulic servo actuator, which is a turbine power control device. Moreover, the cushion mechanism, which includes various modifies shapes and orifices is investigated dynamically through modeling and simulations.
In this study, underdeveloping heavy-load driving servo control system, which are composed of controller, electro-hydraulic servo-valve, hydraulic motor, reduction gear box, turret slew bearing and turret structure, are investigated to simplify the control system. To estimate the effect of each component, modeling and simulation of linear and nonlinear system are carried out. In the first stage, to prove the reliability of performance estimation program, simulation results are compared with experimental results. In the second stage, the effect of each component of control system is evaluated and then a simplified control system is suggested.
