Parameter Identification of an Electro-Hydraulic Servo System Using an Improved Hybrid Neural-Genetic Multimodel Algorithm (개선된 신경망-유전자 다중모델에 의한 전기.유압 서보시스템의 파라미터 식별)

  • This paper demonstrates that an improved hybrid neural-genetic multimodel parameter estimation algorithm can be applied to the structured system identification of an electro-hydraulic servo system. This algorithm is consists of a recurrent incremental credit assignment (ICRA) neural network and a genetic algorithm, The ICRA neural network evaluates each member of a generation of model and the genetic algorithm produces new generation of model. We manufactured an electro-hydraulic servo system and the improved hybrid neural-genetic multimodel parameter estimation algorithm is applied to the task to find the parameter values, such as mass, damping coefficient, bulk modulus, spring coefficient and disturbance, which minimize total square error.

  • Evolutionary algorithms(EAs) have been successfully applied to many combinatorial optimization problems of various engineering fields. Recently, some comparative studies of EAs with other stochastic search algorithms have, however, shown that they are similar to, or even are not comparable to other heuristic search. In this paper, a new hybrid evolutionary algorithm utilizing a new local heuristic search, for combinatorial optimization problems, is presented. The new intelligent local heuristic search is described, and the behavior of the hybrid search algorithm is investigated on two well-known problems: traveling salesman problems (TSPs), and quadratic assignment problems(QAPs). The results indicate that the proposed hybrid is able to produce solutions of high quality compared with some of evolutionary and simulated annealing.

  • IEEE 802.15.3 HR-WPAN is designed to enable wireless connectivity of high-speed, low-power, low-cost multimedia-capable portable consumer electronic devices. For quality of service, the standard specifies the use of TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access). However, during low contention TDMA gives much lower channel utilization and higher delays than CSMA (Carrier Sensing Multiple Access) because in TDMA, a node can transmit only during its scheduled time slots whereas in CSMA, nodes can transmit at any time as long as there is no contention. By mixing CSMA and TDMA, Hybrid MAC becomes more robust to timing failures, time-varying channel conditions, slot assignment failures and topology changes than a stand-alone TDMA.

  • This paper presents hybrid artificial intelligent(HAI) controller based on the vector controlled IPMSM drive system. And it is based on artificial technologies that adaptive neural network fuzzy(A-NNF) is to speed control and artificial neural network(ANN) is to speed estimation. The salient feature of this technique is the HAI controller The hybrid action tolerates any inaccuracies in the fuzzy logic assignment rules or in the neural network stationary weights. Speed estimators using feedforward multilayer and artificial neural network(ANN) are compared. The back-propagation algorithm is easy to derived the estimated speed tracks precisely the actual motor speed. This paper presents the theoretical analysis as well as the simulation results to verify the effectiveness of the new hybrid intelligent control.

  • In this paper we propose a Hybrid MAC(HMAC) to enhance the transmission throughput in Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs). In the proposed HMAC, sender nodes send transmission request packets to the receiver nodes using CSMA/CA MAC protocol. And the receiver node assigns slots according to the network topology and the amount of traffics using TDMA. Using HMAC we get the enhanced throughput by lowering the duplicated slot assignment.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel stability criterion for switched linear systems. The proposed method employs the results on the upper bound of the solution of LME(Lyapunov Matrix Equation) and on the stability of hybrid system. The former guarantees the existence of Lyapunov-like energy functions and the latter shows that the stability of switched linear systems by using these energy functions. The proposed criterion releases the restriction on the stability of switched linear systems comparing with the existing methods and provides us with easy implementation way for pole assignment.

  • Developing an interactive satellite multi­media system, such as a digital video broadcasting (DVB) return channel via satellite (RCS) system, is gaining popularity over the world To accommodate the increasing traffic demand we are motivated to investigate an alternative for improving return channel utilization We develop an efficient method for optimal packet scheduling in an interactive satellite multimedia system using hybrid CDMA/TDMA channels. We formulate the timeslot-code assignment problem as a binary integer programming (BIP) problem, where the throughput maximization is the objective, and decompose this BIP problem into two sub-problems for the purpose of solution efficiency. With this decomposition, we promote the computational efficiency in finding the optimal solution of the original BIP problem Since 2001, ETRI has been involved in a development project where we have successfully completed an initial system integration test on broadband mobile Internet access via Ku-band channels using the proposed resource allocation algorithm.

  • Vehicle routing problem with time windows is determined each vehicle route in order to minimize the transportation costs. All delivery points in geography have various time restriction in camparision with the basic vehicle routing problem. Vechicle routing problem with time windows is known to be NP-hard, and it needs a lot of computing time to get the optimal solution, so that heuristics are more frequently developed than optimal algorithms. This study aims to develop a heuristic method which combines guided local search with a tabu search in order to minimize the transportation costs for the vehicle routing assignment and uses ILOG programming library to solve. The computational tests were performed using the benchmark problems.

Distributed Database Design using Evolutionary Algorithms

  • The performance of a distributed database system depends particularly on the site-allocation of the fragments. Queries access different fragments among the sites, and an originating site exists for each query. A data allocation algorithm should distribute the fragments to minimize the transfer and settlement costs of executing the query plans. The primary cost for a data allocation algorithm is the cost of the data transmission across the network. The data allocation problem in a distributed database is NP-complete, and scalable evolutionary algorithms were developed to minimize the execution costs of the query plans. In this paper, quadratic assignment problem heuristics were designed and implemented for the data allocation problem. The proposed algorithms find near-optimal solutions for the data allocation problem. In addition to the fast ant colony, robust tabu search, and genetic algorithm solutions to this problem, we propose a fast and scalable hybrid genetic multi-start tabu search algorithm that outperforms the other well-known heuristics in terms of execution time and solution quality.

  • This paper proposes hybrid distributed stochastic addressing (HDSA), which combines the advantages of distributed addressing and stochastic addressing, to solve the problems encountered when constructing a network in a ZigBee-based wireless sensor network. HDSA can assign all the addresses for ZigBee beyond the limit of addresses assigned by the existing distributed address assignment mechanism. Thus, it can make the network scalable and can also utilize the advantages of tree routing. The simulation results reveal that HDSA has better addressing performance than distributed addressing and better routing performance than other on-demand routing methods.
