Background: In most human lives, 80 percent have problems with the ankle and can be solved with a treatment that is objective in proper assessment. Discrepacts in the ankle are also associated with walking patterns and affect hip and knee joints. An evaluation of hip flexion and extensor muscles was performed to check the strength of hip joints after ankle sprain patients application of arthesis. Methods: In the hospital in Bucheon, 20 outpatients who visited the hospital for treatment with ankle sprain were tested with 10 male and 10 female patients. The criteria for selection of the study subjects were randomly divided into those with joint movement techniques applied to the ankle joints and those with conservative physical therapy. Results: In applying arthrography and preservation physical therapy to patients with ankle sprain, a difference in muscle strength between hip flexion and extensor was noted in post-evaluation comparisons. There were significant differences in the assessment of walking speed and walking time between the two counties in the gait analysis assessment (p<.05). Conclusion: Studies have shown that applying arthrography to people with ankle sprain has a greater therapeutic effect than using conservative physical therapy.
The aim of this study was to measure and compare the micro shear bond strengths of the following dentin bonding systems to the dentin surfaces under simulated pulpal pressure: All Bond $2^{\circledR},{\;}Second^{\circledR},{\;}AdheSE^{\circledR}$, Adper Prompt $L-Pop^{\circledR}$. The occlusal surfaces of 180 extracted human molars were prepared so the dentin bonding surfaces could be exposed. The teeth were randomly assigned to 3 equal groups of 60 each and subdivided. The dentin surfaces were treated with the above mentioned bonding system and resin composite cylinders were built up under a simulated pulpal pressure when saline (Group II) or diluted bovine serum (Group III) was used as the pulpal fluid. As a control. the same procedures were performed in the dried dentin surfaces (Group I). After one day of storage in water. the micro shear bond strengths were measured using an EZ tester. Group II and III showed significantly lower shear bond strength than Group I statistically (p < 0.05). $SEbond^{\circledR}{\;}and{\;}AdheSE^{\circledR}$ showed no difference among the different dentin condition. In the Adper Prompt $L-Pop^{\circledR}$. a simulated pulpal pressure were applied to the specimens using diluted bovine serum. which showed a higher strength than the specimens in which saline was used (p < 0.05).

CP (Commercially Pure) titanium has been widely used in various industries such as in energy plants and bio-materials because of an excellent corrosion resistance and its non-toxicity to the human body. But there are limitations for usage as structural materials due to low strength. The tensile properties of CP titanium could be improved by microstructure refinement such as in a SPD (Severe Plastic Deformation) process. However, high strengthening of CP titanium wire is impossible by SPD processes like ECAP (Equal Channel Angular Pressing), HPT (High-Pressure Torsion), and the ARB (Accumulative Roll Bonding) process. The study purposes are to increase the strength of CP titanium wire by optimization of the cold drawing process and the harmonization with mechanical properties by heat treatments for the next forming process. The optimization process was investigated with regard to the design of drawing dies and the reduction ratio of cross sections. The elongations of high strength CP titanium were controlled by heat treatment.

The plasma, ionized gas state, is generally composed as the 4th state in the universe. Generating the plasma artificially has been studied by spending energy and it has been applied so much in human's life. There are several merits to modify the surface of polymer using plasma. Above all, plasma maintains the properties of polymer itself, but changes the properly of polymer surface only. Also, it is the environmentally fraternized because there are no waste processing from organic solvent. Furthermore, it is possible that continuous automated-processing in case of high-pressure plasma. Therefore, we have tried the reforming of surface to rise the adhesive strength between the material of polymer, and have experimented rising the adhesive strength through peel strength by virtue of processing time and using gas, of course, confirmed the change of polymer surface through measuring the contact angle analysis and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).
This study was carried out to manufacture black charcoal board from domestic wood waste by using serum protein adhesive which is natural, environment-friendly and human-friendly. For the preparation of the serum protein adhesive, pig blood from slaughterhouse was centrifuged and serum was separated from corpuscles and concentrated to 30% by dry weight basis. The particle size of charcoal from domestic wood waste for this study was #6-60. Hot pressing schedule was $170^{\circ}C$ and 40kgf/$cm^2$ (1 min)-10kgf/$cm^2$ (2.5 min)-40kgf/$cm^2$ (5 min). The black charcoal board made by the addition of 13% serum protein adhesive on dry weight basis gave 41.76kgf/$cm^2$ of bending strength, 8.12kgf/$cm^2$ of internal bonding strength, and excellent gas adsorption and workability.
Objectives: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the bond strength of 2 universal adhesives used in different application modes to bleached enamel. Materials and Methods: Extracted 160 sound human incisors were used for the study. Teeth were divided into 4 treatment groups: No treatment, 35% hydrogen peroxide, 16% carbamid peroxide, 7.5% carbamid peroxide. After bleaching treatments, groups were divided into subgroups according to the adhesive systems used and application modes (n = 10): 1) Single Bond Universal, etch and rinse mode; 2) Single Bond Universal, self-etch mode; 3) Gluma Universal, etch and rinse mode; 4) Gluma Universal, self-etch mode. After adhesive procedures nanohybrid composite resin cylinders were bonded to the enamel surfaces. All specimens were subjected to shear bond strength (SBS) test after thermocycling. Data were analyzed using a 3-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey post hoc test. Results: No significant difference were found among bleaching groups (35% hydrogen peroxide, 16% carbamid peroxide, 7.5% carbamid peroxide, and no treatment groups) in the mean SBS values. There was also no difference in SBS values between Single Bond Universal and Gluma Universal at same application modes, whereas self-etch mode showed significantly lower SBS values than etch and rinse mode (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The bonding performance of the universal adhesives was enhanced with the etch and rinse mode application to bleached enamel and non-bleached enamel.

Superabsorbent polymers(SAPs) are powdery material that absorb water several tens or hundreds of times its own mass. It has been reported that when SAPs are incorporated into a high strength cementitious material, the autogenous shrinkage of the material is reduced. Cross-linked sodium polyacrylate type SAPs are relatively safe for human body and low in production cost. In order to apply this type of SAPs to the admixture for total(plastic+autogenous+drying) shrinkage reduction of high strength mortar, the shrinkage behavior of mortar when an expansion agent(EA) and SAPs were mixed together was analyzed. As a result, it was found that the shrinkage was reduced when an EA 5% (mass % of cement) and SAPs 0.4% were mixed together than the mortar containing only an EA 10%. The shrinkage was further reduced when EA 10% and SAPs 0.4% were incorporated into mortar.
For the purpose of finding new uses for Miscanthus sinensis var. purpurascens, this study first constructed boards with the particles of the plant and impregnated them with phenolic resin at resin impregnation rates of 30 ± 2%, 40 ± 2%, 50 ± 2%, and 60 ± 2%. The impregnated boards were then carbonized at the carbonization temperature of 800℃, after which their density and mechanical properties were examined according to the different resin impregnation rates. The results showed that density, flexural strength performance, Brinell hardness, and compressive strength increased as the resin impregnation rate increased, thus affecting the physical and mechanical properties of the ceramics made of M. sinensis var. purpurascens particles.
Objectives: This study evaluated the effect of three antioxidizing agents on pullout bond strengths of dentin treated with sodium hypochlorite. Materials and Methods: Root canals of 75 single-rooted human teeth were prepared. Fifteen teeth were irrigated with normal saline for a negative control group, and the remaining 60 teeth (groups 2 - 5) with 2.5% NaOCl. The teeth in group 2 served as a positive control. Prior to post cementation, the root canals in groups 3 - 5 were irrigated with three antioxidizing agents including 10% rosmarinic acid (RA, Baridge essence), 10% hesperidin (HPN, Sigma), and 10% sodium ascorbate hydrogel (SA, AppliChem). Seventy-five spreaders (#55, taper .02, Produits Dentaires S.A) were coated with silica and silanized with the Rocatec system and ceramic bond. All the prepared spreaders were cemented with a self-adhesive resin cement (Bifix SE, Voco Gmbh) in the prepared canals. After storage in distilled water (24 h/$37^{\circ}C$), the spreaders were pulled out in a universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 1.0 mm/min. Pull-out strength values were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and Tukey's HSD test (${\alpha}$ = 0.05). Results: There were significant differences between study groups (p = 0.016). The highest pullout strength was related to the SA group. The lowest strength was obtained in the positive control group. Conclusions: Irrigation with NaOCl during canal preparation decreased bond strength of resin cement to root dentin. Amongst the antioxidants tested, SA had superior results in reversing the diminishing effect of NaOCl irrigation on the bond strength to root dentin.
Dentin surface of non-carious lesion is usually attached with oral biofilm. The biofilm should be removed before application of restorative material, because it may reduce the bond strength of adhesive system. The aim of this study was to evaluate the microtensile bond strength, when the biofilm was removed with brush or bur. Twenty extracted human third molars were sectioned horizontally to obtain dentin surface. Specimen were divided randomly into four group. Biofilm formation was performed in three group, except for Group 1 (negative control). Biofilm was removed as follows: Group 3, using ICB brush; Group 4, using lowspeed round bur #2. Group 2 (positive control) was not removed Biofilm. And in all four groups, the adhesive system (Optibond FL, Kerr) was applied to etched dentin surface, and resin composite was built up in three 1mm increments. After 24 hour storage in distilled water, the teeth were perpendicularly sectioned to obtain beams (1 × 1 mm2). Microtensile bond strength was measured and the data were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey's post hoc test (p<0.05). Group 4 showed the highest microtensile bond strength (p<0.05), Group 3 showed no significant improvements when compared to Group 1. Group 2 showed lowest microtensile bond strength (p<0.05). When restoring a non-carious cervical lesion, it is essential to remove the biofilm present on the dentin surface. In addition, in the method of removing the biofilm, both the brush removal method and the bur removal method were effective.
