  • Development of IT and electronics industries has make our life more convenient, yet at the cost of radio communication noise, malfunctioning of electronic appliance and risks against human health all resulting from EMI. Many states are tightening their EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) regulations around the world and the EMI regulatory measures are likely to increase in terms of targets and types. Against this backdrop, this paper aims to introduce fundamental and adequate EMI countermeasures encompassing product production cycle from design to production stage.

  • For walking patterns of biped robots, knee-bent patterns are used in most cases. However, humans are mostly walking with their knees nearly stretched. In this paper, a human-like walking algorithm using hybrid system is proposed for biped robots, The hybrid system consists of the logically constituted discrete system, in which the discrete states are defined by considering the walking characteristics, and the continuous state system used for motor control. It is shown that the proposed algorithm is effective by experimental studies.

  • In this paper, we develop analysis models for classification of temporal data from human subjects. The study focuses on the analysis of electroencephalogram (EEG) signals obtained during various emotional states. We demonstrate a generally applicable method of removing EOG and EMG artifacts from EEGs based on independent component analysis (ICA). All EEG channel maps were interpolated from 10 EEG subbands.   • Small group activity in Korea was introduced from the United States as QC circle, ZD group movements and the like, but it has developed into a Korean style from so-called factory saemaul panel activities contributing much to the management of enterprises. Based on human motivation theory, the principles to activate small group activity is suggested on which a new diagnosis of small group activity is proposed here. It is consisted of checklist and radarchart. The factor to activate small group activity have been obtained in terms of multivariate analysis for data from the new diagnosis.

  • Consumer behavior is driven by culture; and culture is contextual. Therefore, human behaviors such as those exhibited in consumption behavior should not be measured and compared cross-culturally by using cultural specific mea-sures or paradigms which assume a universal reality, time and context free. Since it is known that consumption behavior is influenced by culture, and cultures in the United States differ from those in Korea, the assumption of universal ‘truths’ which can be known is inappropriate. To employ a paradigm with invalid assumptions automatically leads to the lack of validity, a must for truth claims in the positivist paradigm. Thus, 'truths' in the research reported must be suspect.

  • The Korean state evolved as a distinct entity in a region of major power convergence and conflict. All states, as human constructions, seek sovereignty and life security of their subjects/citizens, and are rotted in organic society. In the Republic of Korea, constitutional order has provided a framework for political action and a succession of regimes - authoritarianism, military dictatorship, and constitutional democracy. Since 1960 two paradigms have undergone a cycle of growth and decline, and a third, since the 2016 candlelight demonstrations in Gwanghwamun, may be the beginnning of a third generation paradigm - populist constitutionalism.

  • Human error in the construction sector is influenced not only by individual factors and cognitive processes but also by the physical environment. In construction sites, communication plays a critical role in the occurrence of human errors among workers. This relationship hinges significantly on the dynamics of human information processing, particularly in how information is conveyed and received. The primary aim of this study was to explore the correlation between human errors and the communication patterns among construction workers, focusing on their information processing activities. The findings reveal that the majority of human errors occurred during the cognitive processes of thinking and memory. Errors were notably prevalent in stages where information was communicated, suggesting a strong link between communication received and subsequent errors. Furthermore, the emotional and psychological states of workers during these exchanges were found to influence errors specifically in the thinking and memory phases. The implications of this research are significant, indicating that tailoring communication strategies to specific types of work could effectively reduce human errors at construction sites, enhancing overall safety and efficiency.

  • Monoclonal antibodies (Mabs) have been used as diagnostic and analytical reagents since hybridoma technology was invented in 1975. In recent years, antibodies have become increasingly accepted as therapeutics for human diseases, particularly for cancer, viral infection and autoimmune disorders. An indication of the emerging significance of antibody-based therapeutics is that over a third of the proteins currently undergoing clinical trials in the United States are antibodies. Until the late 1980's, antibody technology relied primarily on animal immunization and the expression of engineered antibodies. However, the development of methods for the expression of antibody fragments in bacteria and powerful techniques for screening combinatorial libraries, together with the accumulating structure-function data base of antibodies, have opened unlimited opportunities for the engineering of antibodies with tailor-made properties for specific applications. Antibodies of low immunogenicity, suitable for human therapy and in vivo diagnosis, can now be developed with relative ease. Here, antibody structure-function and antibody engineering technologies are described.

  • Financial planning in the United States has evolved since 1980 from a field comprised of specialists, such as insurance agents, bankers, accountants, and stock brokers, offering particular services to clients, to the situation today, where most professionals offering financial services to households market themselves as comprehensive financial planners. The breadth of knowledge required for financial planning can be seen in the 106 topics covered by the Certified Financial Planner(CFP) Exam. This study reviews the actual conditions of financial planning in the U.S. including suppliers of financial services to household, the philosophy of financial planning, and the financial planning process as described by the CFP Board. Also, this study discusses related research about problems and challenges faced by households in financial planning in the U.S.
