The vesicular glutamate transporter (VGLUT) transports glutamate into pre-synaptic vesicles. Three isoforms of VGLUT have been identified in humans, but their functional differences remain largely unknown. EAT-4 is the only homologue of human VGLUT in C. elegans. Here we report that mutants of eat-4 exhibit hyperforaging behavior and that each of the isoforms of human VGLUT functionally rescues the defects in eat-4 worms.

Recently, we are living in environment which various electrical appliance help our life. But the meanwhile, we had not researched how far the electromagnetic waves of electrical appliance affected the human's life. In accordance with, this paper will find out how far the human are weighed with electromagnetic waves of electrical appliance. And we will demonstrate the method that humans are failed under minimum effect from the harmful electromagnetic waves.

Human neuronal growth inhibitory factor (GIF), a metalloprotein classified as metallothionein-3, is specifically expressed in mammal central nervous system (CNS). In these Studies the specific antibody to human GIF was prepared and used to search the epitope of human GIF by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and sequence comparison. The result of ELISA showed the epitope of human GIF may locate on a octapeptide (EAAEAEAE) in the $\alpha$-domain of human GIF, and the result of nerve cell culture indicated that the biological activity of GIF may be affected by the specific antibody.

Bioassay-guided chemical investigation of the roots of Anthriscus sylvestris (L.) Hoffm. resulted in the isolation of nine compounds, whose structures were determined by spectroscopic methods. Compound 1 was isolated from this plant for the first time and compounds 3 and 9 were first found from this genus. Different polar fractions of A. sylvestris extract and compounds 1, 6-8 and 9 were evaluated for antitumor activities against HepG2 (human hepatocellular carcinoma), MG-63 (human osteosarcoma cells), B16 (melanoma cells) and HeLa (human cervical carcinoma cells) lines by the MTT method. The petroleum ether fraction of A. sylvestris extract exhibited excellent inhibitory activity with an $IC_{50}$ value of $18.3{\mu}g/ml$. Among the isolates from the petroleum ether fraction, compound 7 showed significant inhibition against the growth of the four tumor cells with $IC_{50}$ values ranging from $12.2-43.3{\mu}g/ml$.

For more than two decades, the intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) technique has been used as a valuable tool to provide opportunities for studying fertilization, treating human infertility, and producing transgenic animals. Not only in facilitating fertilization but also in propagating mammalian species, ICSI has enhanced the potential of assisted reproductive technologies in human. Polyspermic fertilization has been one of major problems in pig reproduction, but the ICSI helped to solve the problem, and used widely to generate transgenic piglets. Although the ICSI technique is considered to be a very useful tool in assisted reproductive technologies, including generation of transgenic animals, there are some disadvantages using the technique. In this review, we describe the ICSI technique and its application in animal production and human infertility, and discuss advantage and disadvantage of the technique in mammals.

The purposes of present study were to investigate relationships among wife abuse, social support, coping styles, and quality of life, and to examine how abused wives' social support influences coping and quality of life. The subjects were consisted of 144 abused wives in Gwangju, Korea. The major findings are as follows; 1. Problem-focused coping and seeking of social support were different by the wife abuse. 2. Abused wives' quality of life was positively related monthly income, social support, problem-focused coping, and wishful thinking coping. 3. The results of the hierarchical regression analysis indicated that the social support had the strongest impact on abused wives' quality of life. And the problem-focused coping, monthly income, and emotion-focused coping. These variables accounted for 32% of variance of abused wives' quality of life.
