  • Light Rail Transit(LRT) Systems with transport capacity between subway and bus(5,000-25,000 persons per hour) are being carried on over 100 lines around the world. In Korea, to solve the urban transportation problem, the introduction of LRT system has been proceeded positively. It is planned to develop the Korean standard LRT system in which safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness are emphasized. So we were able to make proto type of Rubber tired AGT system for LRT. This is capable of driverless operation using CBTC(Communication Based Train Control) of Moving Block System and is currently making an experiment for reliability in test-line. This study is focused on verifving the train tracking with CBTC in driverless and ATO mode through implementing the examination.

  • Optical aligning process to archive the maximum optical coupling is crucial in many optical device manufacturing line such as laser diode module. Due to the three-dimensional nature of housing module and the aligning process for laser diode coupler, large amount of the manufacturing time, typically ranging from tens of minutes to an hour has to be devoted to the aligning process alone. In this thesis, we propose a new optical aligning process that employee a two-pass algorithm: coarse-to-fine search. Coarse search is a kind of blind search that finds the candidate region where the maximum optical coupling might mostly occur, followed by a fine searching that finds the maximum within the candidate region. The algorithm has been tested on 50 samples of cam-type laser diode modules, and the experimental results are analyzed in terms of aligning time and coupling efficiency.

  • This paper describes the aplication of different model which can be used for short-term load prediction. The model is based on Bohlin's approach to first develop a load profile model representing the nominal load component and the Box-Jenkins approach is used to predict residuals. An on-line algorithm using Kalman Filter and Time Series is implemented for and hour-ahead prediction. In the Kalman Filter system equation and measurement equation were fixed and parameters of Time Series were varied week after week. A set of data for Korea Electric Power Corporation from April to June 1981 was used for the evaluation of the model. As the result of this simulation 1.2% rms error was acquired.

  • A new method of EEG spindle waveform detection i s presented. The method combines the signal conditioning in the time-domin and the analysis of local spectrum in the frequency-domain. Fast computation methods, utilizing some effective approximations, are also suggested for the desist and implementation of the filter as well as for the computation of the local spectrum. The presented approach is especially useful for the real-time implementation of the waveform detection system under a general purpose microcomputer environment. The overall detection system is implemented and tested on-line with the total 24 hour data of selected four subjects. The result show the average agreement of 86.7% with the visually inspected result.

  • The paper shows the analysis of operating conflict of OCGR trip events and metering errors in the photovoltaic generation, wind generation distributed generation customers with no defect of the distributed generation facilities, which are connected to 22.9kV distribution lines. To analyze problems with metering errors and OCGR fault event, a power quality analyzer and PSIM program were used to test the field and to simulate in Sun-Cheon photovoltaic generation and Seo-Cheon photovoltaic generation customers. With the trial distribution line, the result of analysis was verified to prove with the same situation of the actual field. This paper suggests short term and long term countermeasures of OCGR fault events, analysis of over and shortage of metering errors in distributed generation customers.

  • In case of data transmission using the upper 10GHz frequency, rain results in attenuation of radio waves. And the most serious atmospheric effect in a satellite link is the rainfall. The attenuation of rainfall very seriously affects the quality of transmission line. Because the rain increases thermal noise and interference, and decreases the amplitude of the signal. KOWACO manages the VSAT system instead of VHF network for communication of rain and water-level data from 1998. The purpose of this system is to monitor the change of water-level and rain data during a flood duration. VHF system acquires the data by a call per a hour. But the satellite network obtains the data whenever event data occur. Thus the satellite network is more powerful than the VHF system. In study ...

  • For the monitoring of structures, it is desirable for the measurement system to deliver equal precision in all components. When using GPS the accuracy, availability, reliability and integrity of the position solutions is very dependent on the number and geometric distribution of the available satellites. Therefore the positioning precision is not the same in all there component, and large variations (in positioning) precision can be expected during a 24-hour period. This situation becomes worse when the line-of-sight to GPS satellites becomes obstructed, such as in urban environments. Pseudolites can be sed to augment GPS and improve a geometrically weak satellite constellation. The use of pseudolites as supplement(s) of GPS for the movement measurement of bridges is demonstrated in this paper. It is shown that pseudollites can improve the vertical position components.

  • In this paper, a method of detecting the emergency situations such as body fall is proposed by using color images. We detect body areas and key parts of a body through a pre-learned Mask R-CNN in the images captured by a camera. Then we find the centerline of the body through the joint points of both shoulders and feet. Also, we calculate an angle to the center line and then calculate the amount of change in the angle per hour. If the angle change is more than a certain value, then it is decided as a suspected fall. Also, if the suspected fall state persists for more than a certain frame, then it is determined as a fall situation. Simulation results show that the proposed method can detect body fall situation accurately.

  • A microcomputer -based data acquistion system was designed and developed at Michigan State University , USA to conduct field data studies. The system designed for the research carried out used an Apple IIe microcomputer for collecting data on-board the tractor. An AII3 Analog to Digital (A/D_ convertor was chosen to interface each analog signal to the microcomputer. A commercially available Dj TPM II was employed to display information such as an engine speed, ground speed, percent drive wheel slip , distance travelled and area covered per hour. The frequency output from the radar unit was channeled through a frequency to voltage (F/V) convertor , so that AII3 Analog to Digital (A/D) convertor could read it. The fuel consumption was measured using on EMCO pdp-1 fuel flow meter attached to the engine fuel line. The draft of the tillage and other drag equipment was determined using strain gages attached to the drawbar of the tractor. The system was developed to collect the draft and fuel requirements for various farm equipment different kind of soils.
