Year-to-year Variability of the Vertical Temperature Structure in the Youngsan Estuary

  • Long-term observations were conducted between 1997 and 2002 to examine the variability of the vertical temperature structure in the Youngsan Estuary, southwest Korea, in summer. The observed hydrographic data revealed that the temperature minimum layer in the middle depth persisted through the entire summer of 2000 but was rarely observed in other years. The variability in the vertical structure might be affected by the air temperature during the previous winter and the density difference between the open sea and the estuary. In 2000, the air temperature in the previous winter was lowest and the horizontal density difference during summer was largest. The large horizontal density difference probably produced more active driving of warm water along the bottom, which would have intruded into the Youngsan Estuary. Furthermore, the cold previous winter would have provided a better condition for maintaining cold temperatures in the middle water layer for a longer period.

  • 초형이 다른 옥수수의 재식밀도에 대한 반응차이를 구명하고자 직립형 초형과 수평형 초형 교잡종을 재식밀도를 달리하여 재배하고 종실수량 및 주요형질을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 공시된 4교잡종 모두 고밀식(10,000주 /10a)하에서 종실수량이 감소하였으나 직립형 교잡종보다 수평형 교잡종인 Ga209${\times}$Ki14A에서 감소의 폭이 더커서 초형간에 차이가 있었다. 2. 재식밀도 증가에 따라 초장은 짧아지고 착수고는 높아졌으나 초형간의 차이는 유의성이 없었다. 3. 수장, 열수, 및 열당입수는 재식밀도 증가에 따라 감소하였고 초형간에는 차이가 없었다. 4. 잎의 각도는 재식밀도에 따라 차이가 없었으며 종실수량, 수장, 열수 및 열당입수와 부의 상관을 보였다.

  • We have carried out the test using the cone calorimeter and the smoke density chamber to evaluate the characteristics of the combustion for the car interior materials passed horizontal burning test. We have analysed many parameters related to fire hazard. These parameters are the ignition time, the heat release rate, the maximum average rate of heat emission, the flashover propensity and specific optical density. There was a significant difference in HRR and optical smoke density. The HRR was $185{\sim}446kW/m^2$ and optical smoke density was $119{\sim}1207$. Only horizontal burning test was performed to evaluate the fire hazard for the car interior materials.

고밀도 도시기후관측 망 자료를 이용한 대구의 여름철 기온 수평 공간 분포의 일변화 (Diurnal Variations in the Horizontal Temperature Distribution using the High Density Urban Climate Observation Network of Daegu in Summer)

  • We analyzed diurnal variations in the surface air temperature using the high density urban climate observation network of Daegu in summer, 2013. We compared the time elements, which are characterized by the diurnal variation of surface air temperature. The warming and cooling rates in rural areas are faster than in urban areas. It is mainly due to the difference of surface heat capacity. In addition, local wind circulation also affects the discrepancy of thermal spatiotemporal distribution in Daegu. Namely, the valley and mountain breezes affect diurnal variation of horizontal distribution of air temperature. During daytimes, the air(valley breeze) flows up from urban located at lowlands to higher altitudes of rural areas. The temperature of valley breeze rises gradually as it flows from lowland to upland. Hence the difference of air temperature decreases between urban and rural areas. At nighttime, the mountains cool more rapidly than do low-lying areas, so the air(mountain breeze) becomes denser and sinks toward the valleys(lowlands). As the result, the air temperature becomes lower in rural areas than in urban areas.

  • This paper for real time object tracking in this treatise detect histogram analysis that is accumulation value of binary conversion density and edge information and body that move by real time use of difference Image techniques and proposed method to object tracking. Firstly, we extract edge that can reduce quantity of data keeping information about form of input image in object detection. Object is extracted by performing difference image and binarization in edge image. Area of detected object is determined by threshold value that divide sum of horizontal accumulation value about binary conversion density by value that add horizontalityㆍverticality maximum accumulation value. Object is tracked by comparing similarity with object that is detected in previous frame and present frame. As experiment result, proposed algorithm could improve the object detection speed, and could track object by real time and could track local movement.

  • I.objective The composition method with acquiring 2${\sim}$5 image not only lack perfection in compensating the geometrical distortion but could also cause inaccurate connection problem of compensating the geometrical distortion but could also cause inaccurate connection problem of continuing bone structure due to the enlargement ratio difference of ruller and bone, density difference in image composition process. This paper studies those mentioned problems through the experiments. II. Object and method Experiment 1 After attaching 3 step wedge(Pb) on detector and 2 ruller on upper, lower part of the step wedge, we have exposed them to create density difference between 1st image and 2nd image, then examined if there were any errors. Experiment 2 1st 100cm ruller was attached on the center of detector, and by escalating the distance between 2nd 100cm ruller and detector 5cm, 10cm, 15cm respectively, we investigated if there any errors caused by enlargement ratio. Experiment 3 The ruller was placed on detector, a joint photographing was performed through spot photographing after fully operating the electric field photographing to include hip joint ${\sim}$ ankle joint part and we have compared the values from two methods. III. Result : A horizontal axis error was caused when photopraphing is not poerated in equal density since the image shifted horizontally in accordance with the difference of Pb step wedge 1 due to the density difference, as the result of Epperiment 1.

Shaking table test and horizontal torsional vibration response analysis of column-supported vertical silo group silo structure

  • Reinforced concrete vertical silos are universal structures that store large amounts of granular materials. Due to the asymmetric structure, heavy load, uneven storage material distribution, and the difference between the storage volume and the storage material bulk density, the corresponding earthquake is very complicated. Some scholars have proposed the calculation method of horizontal forces on reinforced concrete vertical silos under the action of earthquakes. Without considering the effect of torsional effect, this article aims to reveal the expansion factor of the silo group considering the torsional effect through experiments. Through two-way seismic simulation shaking table tests on reinforced concrete column-supported group silo structures, the basic dynamic characteristics of the structure under earthquake are obtained. Taking into account the torsional response, the structure has three types of storage: empty, half and full. A comprehensive analysis of the internal force conditions under the material conditions shows that: the different positions of the group bin model are different, the side bin displacement produces a displacement difference, and a torsional effect occurs; as the mass of the material increases, the structure's natural vibration frequency decreases and the damping ratio Increase; it shows that the storage material plays a role in reducing energy consumption of the model structure, and the contribution value is related to the stiffness difference in different directions of the model itself, providing data reference for other researchers; analyzing and calculating the model stiffness and calculating the internal force of the earthquake. As the horizontal side shift increases in the later period, the torsional effect of the group silo increases, and the shear force at the bottom of the column increases. It is recommended to consider the effect of the torsional effect, and the increase factor of the torsional effect is about 1.15. It can provide a reference for the structural safety design of column-supported silos.

수평원관내 부분적으로 채원진 상변화물질의 융해과정 (Experimental Study of Close-Contact Melting of Phase-Change Medium Partially Filled in a Horizontal Cylinder)

  • An experiment of close contact melting of phase-change medium partially filled in an isothermally heated horizontal cylinder is performed which involves the volume expansion of liquid induced by the solid-liquid density difference. The solid-liquid interface motion and the free surface behavior of liquid were reported photographically. The experimental results show that the curvature of upper solid-liquid interface varied to flat as melting progresses. In addition to the varying interface shape, the melting rate increases with the lower initial height of solid and the free surface height of liquid increases linearly. The experimental results of molten mass fraction were expressed in a function of dimensionless time Fo.Ste$^{3}$4/ and agreed well with the analytical solutions.

  • Pool Boiling heat transfer from controlled arrays of artificial nucleation sites was studied experimentally. Distilled water were boiled from artificial sites of uniform size, shape and spacing, drilled in superfinished copper horizontal surfaces at site density of 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81, 100 per $2.25cm^2$. The results confirm the boiling heat transfer from artificial sites can be improved by increasing the site density N/A or temperature difference ${\Delta}T$ or both. Following experimental correlation were developed for predicting the heat transfer rate from the heating surface which has artificial sites. $$q/A = C(T_s - T_{sat})^{1.811}(N/A)^{0.41}$$

경험식을 통한 대구경 현장타설말뚝에 대한 수평지반반력계수와 수평거동 영향범위의 평가 (Evaluation of Lateral Subgrade Reaction Coefficient Considering Empirical Equation and Horizontal Behavior Range of Large Diameter Drilled Shaft)

  • 대구경 현장타설말뚝의 수평지지 특성은 말뚝의 강성, 인접지반의 수평지반반력에 따라 크게 좌우된다. 특히 말뚝설계 시 많이 활용되는 경험적인 수평지반반력계수는 그 결과의 값에 따라서 지지력의 차이가 크므로 수평지지력을 평가하는 데 매우 중요한 요소임에도 불구하고 대구경 현장타설말뚝에 대한 지반반력계수의 평가가 미흡한 실정이다. 또한, 말뚝의 취약부인 수평하중에 대한 영향범위와 최대 모멘트의 발생위치는 서로 상관관계가 있을 수 있고, 수평하중에 대한 말뚝의 보강영역을 판단하는데 주요 고려사항임에도 기존 연구에서는 이 관계에 대해 평가되지 않았다. 이에 본 연구는 대구경 현장타설말뚝의 수평지반반력계수를 평가하고, 말뚝의 영향범위(1/β)와 최대 모멘트의 발생위치(zm)의 관계를 조사하고자 대구경 현장타설말뚝에 대한 현장시험과 비선형 해석을 수행하였다. 연구결과, 대구경 현장타설말뚝의 수평지지력은 경험식을 통한 산정결과에 따라 최대 190%정도 차이를 보였다. 또한, 말뚝의 수평거동에 대한 영향범위와 최대 모멘트의 발생위치의 관계는 지반조건에 따라 선형적 관계인 것으로 평가되었다.
