HAMILTONIAN PROPERTIES OF ENHANCED HONEYCOMB NETWORKS

  • A cycle in a graph G that contains all of its vertices is said to be the Hamiltonian cycle of that graph. A Hamiltonian graph is one that has a Hamiltonian cycle. This article discusses how to create a new network from an existing one, such as the Enhanced Honeycomb Network EHC(n), which is created by adding six new edges to each layer of the Honeycomb Network HC(n). Enhanced honeycomb networks have 9n2 + 3n - 6 edges and 6n2 vertices. For every perfect sub-Honeycombe topology, this new network features six edge disjoint Hamiltonian cycles, which is an advantage over Honeycomb. Its diameter is (2n + 1), which is nearly 50% lesser than that of the Honeycomb network. Using 3-bit grey code, we demonstrated that the Enhanced Honeycomb Network EHC(n) is Hamiltonian.

  • A honeycomb network is considered as a multiprocessor interconnection network. The network cost defined as the product of degree and diameter is better for honeycomb networks than for other types of meshes. Parallel paths offer us bypasses when the networks have faulty nodes or edges. In this paper, we present a method to construct a parallel path in honeycomb network, and show that the fault diameter for the honeycomb network is d+8, where d is diameter of the honeycomb network.

  • We propose and analyze a new interconnection network, called petersen-torus(PT) network based on well-known petersen graph. PT network has a smaller diameter and a smaller network cost than honeycomb torus with same number of nodes. In this paper, we propose optimal routing algorithm and hamiltonian cycle algorithm. We derive diameter, network cost and bisection width.

  • We propose a new interconnection network, called Twisted cube torus(TT) network based on well-known 3-dimensional twisted cube. Twisted cube torus network has smaller diameter and improved network cost than honeycomb torus with the same number of nodes. In this paper, we propose routing algorithm of Twisted cube torus network and analyze its diameter, network cost, bisection width and hamiltonian cycle.

  • Due to the increase in size of the computer network, the network security systems such as a firewall, IDS, IPS generate much more vast amount of information related to network security. So detecting signs of hidden security threats has become more difficult. Security personnels' 'Network Security Situational Awareness(NSSA)' is effectively determining the security situation of overall computer network on the basis of the relation between the security events that occur in the several views. The process of situational awareness is divided into three stages of the 'identification,' 'understanding' and 'prediction'. And 'identification' and 'understanding' are prerequisites for 'predicting' and the following appropriate responses. But 'identification' and 'understanding' in the vast amount of information became more difficult. In this paper, we propose Honeycomb security situational awareness visualization system that is designed to help NSSA in large-scale networks by using visualization techniques known effective to the 'identification' and 'understanding' stages. And we identified the empirical effects of this system on the basis of the 'VAST Challenge 2012' data.

  • The topological indices are numerical parameters which determined the biological, physical and chemical properties based on the structure of the chemical compounds. One of the recently topological indices is the uphill Zagreb indices. In this paper, the formulae of some uphill Zagreb indices for a few graph operations of some graphs have been derived. Furthermore, the precise formulae of those indices for the honeycomb network have been found along with their graphical profiles.

  • In this paper, we prove mesh-like networks can be embedded into Petersen-Torus(PT) networks. Once interconnection network G is embedded in H, the parallel algorithm designed in Gcan be applied to interconnection network H. The torus is embedded into PT with dilation 5, link congestion 5 and expansion 1 using one-to-one embedding. The honeycomb mesh is embedded into PT with dilation 5, link congestion 2 and expansion 5/3 using one-to-one embedding. Additional, We derive average dilation. The embedding algorithm could be available in both wormhole routing system and store-and-forward routing system by embedding the generally known Torus and honeycomb mesh networks into PT at 5 or less of dilation and congestion, and the processor throughput could be minimized at simulation through one-to-one.

Using Artificial Neural Network in the reverse design of a composite sandwich structure

  • The design of honeycomb sandwich structures is often challenging because these structures can be tailored from a variety of possible cores and face sheets configurations, therefore, the design of sandwich structures is characterized as a time-consuming and complex task. A data-driven computational approach that integrates the analytical method and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is developed by the authors to rapidly predict the design of sandwich structures for a targeted maximum structural deflection. The elaborated ANN reverse design approach is applied to obtain the thickness of the sandwich core, the thickness of the laminated face sheets, and safety factors for composite sandwich structure. The required data for building ANN model were obtained using the governing equations of sandwich components in conjunction with the Monte Carlo Method. Then, the functional relationship between the input and output features was created using the neural network Backpropagation (BP) algorithm. The input variables were the dimensions of the sandwich structure, the applied load, the core density, and the maximum deflection, which was the reverse input given by the designer. The outstanding performance of reverse ANN model revealed through a low value of mean square error (MSE) together with the coefficient of determination (R2) close to the unity. Furthermore, the output of the model was in good agreement with the analytical solution with a maximum error 4.7%. The combination of reverse concept and ANN may provide a potentially novel approach in designing of sandwich structures. The main added value of this study is the elaboration of a reverse ANN model, which provides a low computational technique as well as savestime in the design or redesign of sandwich structures compared to analytical and finite element approaches.

Design and Fabrication of X-band Wideband Array Antenna for SAR Applications (SAR를 위한 X-band 광대역 배열 안테나의 설계 및 제작)

  • Synthetic Aperture Radars(SAR) are used mainly for high-resolution imaging of the terrain. This paper describes the $16{\times}16$ array antenna designed for an X-band, automobile-based SAR(AutoSAR) system. This antenna has the structure of several layers such as radome, radiators, slots, feed network, and honeycomb cores. Each layer is adhesively bonded to meet different combination of structural and electrical design requirements. Using the Strip-Slot-Foam-Inverted-Patch(SSFIP) structure and honeycomb cores, a wide bandwidth and a structural hardness were achieved. Measurement results were compared with simulation results. It was observed that this antenna had a bandwidth of 1.7 GHz, side-lobe levels of less than -20 dB, half-power beamwidth of $5^{\circ}$ and $5^{\circ}$, and gains of 25.0 dBi. The observed results show that the designed array antenna will be applicable to the wideband SAR system.
