This study explored the effects of emotional intelligence and sense of humor in institutionalized and at-home children on their aggressive behavior by using a path model. The participants in this study were 62 institutionalized children and 98 children reared at home, residing in an undisclosed city. The institutionalized children had a lower level of emotional intelligence and sense of humor than children at home. Also, the institutionalized children had a higher level of aggressive behavior than at-home children. Effects of emotional intelligence and sense of humor on the aggressive behavior were significantly different between institutionalized and at-home children.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among the father's involvement in child-rearing, psychological life position, and child's prosocial behavior. The subjects of this study were four- and five-year-old, kindergarten children (N=261) and their fathers who tved in Incheon. A questionnaire was used and analyzed by frequency, percentile, mean, standard deviation, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation. Fathers who took a positive altitude to themselves and others showed more positive involvement in various child-rearing activities such as shared activities with children, supporting cognitive-social development, and child caregiving and monitoring. In addition, children reared by fathers who had a higher positive attitude to others helped their friends well. As the father's developmental support in child-rearing became more positive, the children's prosocial behavior increased.
This study was intended to analyze the behavioral patterns of family members at home and to grasp the housing needs of dual-earner families nursing preschoolers, and to suggest the planning of apartment house unit. The survey method was used for data collection. The questionnaire consisted of 31 questions. The subjects were the wives who had full-time jobs and reared children 0-5 years old. The subjects were randomly selected at three-childcare centers in Daejeon and Cheongju. The data was collected from $5^{th}$∼$25^{th}$ July, 2002. 115 cases were analyzed using the SPSS Window 10.0 package. The findings from this study could suggest the apartment house planning for dual-earner families nursing preschoolers. It is necessary that the planners consider relationships of children's room with their parents room. A flexible and exchangeable plan to accommodate the need for growing children was desired. The children's room has to be located near their parents room when the children are babyhood. And then for privacy of family members, when their children go to the elementary school, children's room has to be moved to other space to be separated from their parents room. small.
The purpose of this research was to provide basic educational data on the proper eating habits of children who use the community children center. The results of the research conducted by polling the fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade children of the community children centers are summarized as follows. Male children had more meals and ate them faster than those of female children, and they also tended to watch more TV and read books. Moreover, children of families headed by fathers ate until they were full, whereas children of households headed by mothers ate less. More female than male children skipped breakfast, and the percentage of children who had their meals alone was high among children reared by their grandfathers. Most of the children ate only what they liked. Moreover, male children ate only particular fruits and vegetables, whereas female children ate only beans and miscellaneous cereals. Most of the children recognized that they had eating problems, such as eating only what they liked and eating meals on irregular schedules. Such eating habits were affected mainly by family members such as parents, brothers, and sisters. Female children scored higher than male children in terms of nutrition and hygiene knowledge. Approximately 40~50.3% of all subjects became interested in nutrition and hygiene education at the community children center. Most of the children recognized that nutrition and hygiene education is necessary at the community children center. They also recognized their own eating problems and wanted nutrition and hygiene education to be taught at the community children center. Accordingly, regular educational activities and meals for children in the community children center considered a children's particular home background to improve eating habits in the children.

Nursery school teacher of institutionalized children without disabilities between ages of 3 and 7 who attend child-welfare facilities was participated. We used Short Sensory Profile(SSP) and Children Behavior Check list. The results were analyzed with SPSS 11.0. Results : There was no significant difference between longer length of institutionalization and shorter length of institutionalization in sensory modulation and behavioral problem. Regarding the sensory modulation and behavior problem according to child-welfare facilities, means showed the statistically significant difference. Regarding sensory modulation of test items, movement sensitivity and low energy/weak showed the statistically significant difference in home-reared children than institutionalized children. Conclusions : The results of the study showed high correlation environmental effect in institutionalized children. Further research is needed to improve environmental for institutionalized children.

Purpose : As the number of children who attend child care centers has increased, concerns has increased about the effect of child day care on childhood illness. This study was conducted to examine the relationship between experience in child care and common infectious diseases in children under 5 years of age. Methods : Data were collected by surveying 1,000 respondents with children under age 5 through online interviews using a structured questionnaire. The contents of the survey were composed of demographic characteristics, child care facilities usage, experience in infectious diseases, and immunization status Results : Among the 1,000 children <5 years of age, 78.5% attended a child care facility. Rates of common communicable illnesses were higher in children in child care than for children reared exclusively at home. The predominant communicable diseases which the respondents' children experienced, in order of decreasing frequency, were gastroenteritis (47.1%), otitis media (41.8%) and pneumonia (19.1%). The immunization rate of vaccines that are not included the national immunization program (NIP) (Haemophilus influenzae type b vaccine - 76.6%, hepatitis A vaccine - 63.3%, pneumococcal vaccine - 59.4%, rotavirus vaccine - 43.1%) was lower than that of the NIP vaccines (90.4%) Conclusion : Children in child care experience more bouts of common infectious disease, so nationwide policies to prevent or to control the spread of infectious agents in a child-care should be available and appropriate immunization should be emphasized as the most effective method for the control of infectious disease for children.
This study aims to examine the suggestions by studies that family predictors are related to developmental outcomes more strongly for children reared principally by their parents compared to those with extensive child care experience. Zero-order correlations between family predictors and developmental outcomes were conducted and the significance of differences in correlation coefficients between the two child care groups were examined. There was no evidence that there exist systematic differences between the two groups in predictive power of family factors except a few exceptions. At 2 years, social parenting style was more strongly associated with communication ability in the extensive child care group. At 3 years, some HOME subscales were related to a child's expressive and receptive vocabulary skills in significantly greater magnitudes in the mother care group. The findings also implied the potential contribution of child care environment on developmental outcomes for those who spend extensive hours in nonmaternal care.
