The Design of Error Detection Auto Correction for Conversion of Graphics to DTV Signal

  • In the integrated systems, that is integrated digital TV(DTV) internet and home automation, like home server, is needed integration of digital TV video signal and computer graphic signal. The graphic signal is operating at the high speed and has time-divide-stream. So the re-request of data is not easy at the time of error detection. therefore EDAC algorithm is efficient. This paper presents the efficiency error detection auto correction(EDAC) for conversion of graphics signal to DTV video signal. A presented EDAC algorithms use the modified Hamming code for enhancing video quality and reliability. A EDAC algorithm of this paper can detect single error, double error, triple error and more error for preventing from incorrect correction. And it is not necessary an additional memory. In this paper The comparison between digital TV video signal and graphic signal, a EBAC algorithm and a design of conversion graphic signal to DTV signal with EDAC function is described.

  • Generally, because of the cost and the restricted manufacture standard, the motor control for home appliance have been used the method using hall sensors or the sensorless method. In the conventional sensorless method using home appliance, the resistor and the back-EMF coefficient are varied by the motor speed and the load torque. Therefore, these variations cause the position error when the sensorless control is operated. This paper proposes the compensation method for sensorless position error using 2-hall sensor pulse signals.

  • This paper deals with operation characteristics of a written-pole motor (WPM), having that of a permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motor and induction motor at once. The WPM also has a magnet layer on the surface of the rotor and the exciter pole that is a device to make the magnet layer magnetized during the operation. This study, introducing a fundamental structure and operation characteristics of a single-phase WPM, proposes a initial design method. With those ground, a 130W, single-phase WPM that is designed for a home appliance is presented and verified with a performance through the experiment.

  • A new method for reducing the common-mode current generated by the voltage variations in a two-inverter air conditioner system by applying a synchronized pulse-width modulation (PWM) strategy is proposed. The PWM signals of the master-mode inverter are generated based on the reference voltage, while those of the slave-mode inverter are output in the opposite direction when the master-mode inverter changes its switching state. However, the slave-mode control results in a mismatch between the reference voltage and the actual output voltage that is modified by synchronized control operation. The proposed method is capable of reducing and controlling this voltage error by performing signal selection in the vector space of the slave-mode inverter, which mitigates the distortion of the phase current. The efficacy of this method in reducing conducted emissions has been validated both theoretically and experimentally.

  • 본 논문은 스마트 홈 네트워크를 구성하는 정보가전기기의 지능성 측정을 위한 지능등급 측정모델을 개발하는 것이 목적이다. 스마트 홈 기기의 지능을 측정하기 위하여 다양한 문헌 고찰을 토대로 지능성 측정에 필요한 핵심 구성요소와 측정요소를 도출하여 재정의 하였다. 이를 토대로 지능등급 측정모델을 개발하였고 도출된 요소들은 각각의 중요도를 반영하기 위해서 델파이 방법을 이용하여 가중치를 산출하였다. 또한 다차원적인 지능성의 속성을 종합적으로 나타내기 위하여 퍼지적분을 사용하였다. 개발한 모델을 현재 출시되고 있는 스마트 홈 정보가전기기에 적용하여 지능수준을 측정하고 지능등급을 판정하였다. 제시된 지능등급측정모델은 사용자가 스마트 홈 기기의 지능성에 대하여 객관적으로 판단할 수 있는 기준을 제공하고, 스마트 홈 기기 개발 업체 및 서비스 개발업체에게는 제품 및 서비스에 대한 지능성 구현 수준을 구체적으로 정할 수 있으므로 스마트 홈 산업화를 촉진하는 계기를 마련할 것으로 기대한다.

  • The home network system of ubiquitous computing concept is changing present our home life as more comfortable and safe. Also, it permits that we can connect the home network system and control the appliance which is linked to the home network system without limitation in time and place. But, as other systems that use the public network like the Internet, remote control/monitoring of the home network system that use the Internet includes problems such as user's access which is not admitted and information changing. This paper presents the efficient solution about the security problem that is recognized to important problem of the home network system. Also this paper implements the security of the home network system based on the UPnP (Universal Plug and Play), adding VPN (Virtual Private Network) router that uses the IPsec to the home network system which is consisted of the ARM9 and the Embedded Linux.

Quality and Environmental Performance Indices for Electrical Appliance Recycling in Taiwan

  • Six recycling plants have started operation for recycling scrap home appliances since the spring of 2000 in Taiwan. The performance of the plants has not yet been measured during the 18-month period. The performance measurement, however, can be looked in several aspects. Because of the nature of these recycling plants, at least three aspects, namely government (representing general public), appliance manufacturers and owners of the recycling plants themselves should be considered in the performance evaluation. This study proposes various performance indices categorized in four groups: profitability, recyclability, automation and environment. The indices are different from the productivity and cost measures that are used in conventional manufacturing plants. Performances of three existing plants in Taiwan are evaluated as illustrative examples to demonstrate the use of the proposed measures. The practical implications of the performance indices are also discussed.

  • This paper presents a robotic agent design and application in the ubiquitous intelligent space. We set up an experimental environment with Bluetooth host, Bluetooth client, furniture and home appliance, and robotic agents. First, the agents basically performed patrol guard to detect unexpected penetration, and to keep home safely from gas-leakage, electric leakage, and so on. They were out to patrol fur a robbery while navigating in a living room and a private room. In this task, we used an area-based action making and a hexagon-based Q-learning to control the agents. Second, the agents communicate with Bluetooth host device to access and control a home appliance. The Bluetooth host offers a manual control to person by inquiring a client robot when one would like to check some place especially. In this exercise, we organize asynchronous connection less (ACL) between the host and the client robots and control the robot maneuver by Bluetooth host controller interface (HCI).

  • 컴퓨터를 비롯한 통신의 영역과 가전제품의 영역이 교차되면서 새로운 차원의 정보가전제품들이 등장하고 있으며 이들 제품들에게 있어 사용자 인터페이스는 매우 중요한 요소라 할 수 있다. 특히 영상기기류에 장착되는 OSD와 리모컨은 사용자 인터페이스의 핵심적인 요소로서 본체의 매력적인 스타일링 못지않게 심도깊은 연구가 필요한 부분이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 OSD 디자인에 대한 담당자나 영역이 불명확하여 회로기술자들이 단순기능의 이전모델부터 해온 경험과 단순한 직관을 바탕으로 사용자의 시각이 아닌 엔지니어의 시각에서 설계하여 왔다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기업에서의 개발사례를 바탕으로 인터페이스 디자이너에 의한 사용자 중심의 OSD 개발 프로세스를 규명하고 OSD의 특수성 즉 OSD가 제한된 용량의 마이컴과 메모리에 저장되어 제품에 내장되고 디스플레이되는 매체도 해상도에 제약이 있는 TV화면으로 하드웨어적인 사양에 많은 영향을 받으며, 입력장치가 리모컨으로 제한된 수의 입력버튼을 가지고 모든 조작이 가능해야 한다는 점 등 을 고려한 실행단계별 가이드라인을 제시한다.
