Fibre to the home (FTTH) in KOREA has grown rapidly in recent years. The number of FTTH subscribers exceeded 6.6 millions by end of DEC 2008. It seems that FTTH has moved from the initial, the growth stage to the mature stage. Some design techniques have been developed in order to construct the access network effectively for the mature stage. This paper deal with design, construction and maintenance of optical fibre access networks immediately, effectively and economically.

The tremendous growth of the Internet of things is unbelievable. Many IoT devices have emerged on the market over the last decade. This has made our everyday life easier inside our homes. The technology used at home has changed significantly over the past several decades, leading to what is known today as the smart home. However, this growth has also brought new challenges to our home security and privacy. With the smart home becoming more mainstream, cybersecurity issues have become a fundamental concern. The smart home is an environment where heterogeneous devices and appliances are interconnected through the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide smart services to residents. These services include home climate control, energy management, video on demand, music on-demand, remote healthcare, remote control, and other similar services in a ubiquitous manner. Smart home devices can be controlled via the Internet using smartphones. However, connecting smart home appliances to wireless networks and the Internet makes individuals vulnerable to malicious attacks. Remote access within the same environment or over the Internet requires an effective access control mechanism. This paper intends to shed light on how smart home devices are working as well as the type of security and privacy threats of the smart home. It also illustrated the types of authentication methods that can be used with smart home devices. In addition, a comparison of Smart home IoT-based security protocols was presented along with a security countermeasure that can be used in a smart home environment. Finally, a few open problems were mentioned as future research directions for researchers.

In this paper, the results of field testing of high-speed power line in-home networking in Korea are reported. When multiple networks share a common channel, they can interfere destructively and reduce system capacity. This is major problem in-home power line communications, especially in MDU deployments. The effects of neighboring network interference in power line communications are reported.

Optical fiber subscriber receive communication system is a core technology of multimedia home networks because it provides the high-level quality of data and services. This paper executes an analysis and research on this communication systems and presents the theoretical background for the purpose of understanding the optical communication system principal and explaining signal process flows to divide each block for the implementing ASIC design.

The sensor network is a key component of the ubiquitous computing system which is expected to be widely utilized in logistics control, environment/disaster control, medical/health-care services, digital home and other applications. Nodes in the sensor network are small-sized and exposed to adverse environments. They are demanded to perform their missions with very limited power supply only. Also the sensor network is composed of much more nodes than the wireless ad hoc networks are. In case that some nodes consume up their power capacity, the network topology should change, and rerouting/retransmission is necessitated. Communication protocols studied for conventional wireless networks or ad hoc networks are not suited for the sensor network resultantly. Schemes should be devised to control the efficient usage of node power in the sensor network. This paper proposes a medium access protocol to enhance the efficiency of energy consumption in the sensor network node. Its performance is analyzed by simulation.

A context-aware services platform supporting mobile agents consists of sensor nodes and a sensor coordinator. Sensor nodes collect environmental information and transmit the collected information to the sensor coordinator through wireless sensor networks. The sensor coordinator passes the information to the context-aware service module, and the mobile agent. The context-aware service module or the mobile agent performs services suitable for a user's situation based on the environmental information and a service actuation message is delivered to an actuation node through the sensor coordinator. In this paper, we present a context-aware services platform structure employed in our project, and describe context-aware services platform interfaces with a context-aware service module and mobile agents.

Over the past two decades following the 1990s, South Korea's IT industry has developed rapidly. In keeping with this trend, the architectural and urban planning sectors have also converged with IT and achieved advancement in new directions. This evolution includes a variety of conceptual terminologies such as 'home automation', ''home network', 'smart home, and 'ubiquitous-city'. However, smart homes and U-cities simply represent a conceptual extension of home networks, and there is little real difference in the technologies involved. In particular, U-cities remain focused on infrastructure rather than on the development of specific content; consequently, they have failed to demonstrate distinctive features to clearly differentiate themselves from conventional cities. In such a context, this research aims at the proposal of a 'ubiquitous pavilion' as a component of the efforts to develop a range of architectural contents that utilize ubiquitous technologies. By grafting the pavilion, one of the most basic forms in architecture, with cutting-edge ubiquitous technologies, this paper intends to suggest a multi-purpose architectural space readily and simply available not only in newly emerging U-cities, but to conventional cities as well.

In this paper, a heterogeneous home network is designed and implemented based on the PLC (power line communications) and the IEEE 802.15.4. This paper presents the need of the heterogeneous home network and the convergence sub-layer. The convergence sub-layer is designed and implemented on the Xelline power line communication modem with IEEE 802.15.4 communication module.

This study investigated first, socio-economic, residential characteristics, and values for future life among low-income family wives. Second, the relationship of these characteristics to the wives' stress was examined. The subjects were 249 mothers of urban low-income families whose children attended one of 20 daycare centers located in poor residential areas. The instruments included Social Network Scale, Home Stress Scale, and Occupation Stress Scale. Data were analyzed by means, standard deviations, frequencies, paired t-tests, and the stepwise multiple regressions. We found that a majority of the mothers and their husbands had high school educational status and simple labor or sales/service work status. They lived in rental houses or apartments. Their families of origin were a major source of emotional supports. Insufficient income for non-employed wives, long work hours and lack of free time for employed wives were a major stress. Levels of the wives' home-related job-related stress were negatively related to their own and their hudsbands' work status.

It is possible to make a practical application for many services by using Home Networking. It's brings much improve the quality of our life. Remote control communication should be made by Home Network but present networks are generally using wireless Internet. But, this method don't use exist home and not install wireless internet. Because It need to many devices. Therefore, in this paper we implement gas valve remote control system using RPM(Radio Packet Modem). We can easily installing systems and operating. This system provide different solution for Home networking.
